1st visit to any Dickey’s…doubt I’ll be back…3:30 p. online order… workers were fine but shredded brisket not sliced so i had 2 small piles of dry meat and a small piece of rib w/2 bones for a 3 meat plate… sides of g. beans and bbq beans were fine but again, small and don’t even think about the $ 2.50 pie serving!!! What a joke… miniscule and the guy gave me another when I asked to have it removed from my t.o. order… good p.r. on him… no bbq sauce so I think this is just some pretend fast food bbq charging too much for too little… good luck… doubt you’ll last except w/freeway traffic from In’n Out’s and other’s overflow… and thx for the 1−½″ of rib bone in the shredded/pulled pile $%^&*!!!

The service was good, but the ribs were very tough. Didn’t care for the potatoe salad, not sure if I’ll go back.

I love this place. Great food, cute environment. This place is very clean and it has a great western type feel to it. I like that they have the BBQ sauce warmed and self serve, and I love that the cups are souvenirs, Then on top of all that they have free ice cream. I know its a bit silly but I feel they really value the customer. I will go back again and again. :)

What is it with getting a meal worth the price, lately. This place is a good example. Two small sandwiches and six ribs, small also= $ 30.00+.I have had real BBQ both locally and nationally. This ain’t it. This is Hollywood glitz and glamour. Dried out meat sandwiches with tiny(2) pickle chips and onions. Get real! The sauce they served us to top our food, was mostly vinegar. People in the area work hard for their money. A tip: go to Costco and get a $ 10.00 pizza or free samples, you will be much happier. Even Mc Donalds is better.

Very good bbq joint. I had the 2 meat sandwich with the onion strings. The meats I chose sausage and brisket. The brisket was super tender and full of flavor, the Italian sausage was great, combined they made an awesome bbq sandwich. A great surprise was the free soft serve ice cream which I did not have in part because it was like 47 degrees and cold outside.

I arrived at the restaurant @ 5:15 pm waited in line for 10 minutes before ordering. I ordered 2 giant baked potatoes the food prep person said we only have one. I said that OK I’ll take it she removed it from the drawer and showed it to me and the another female came over and told her that they had received an online order and they could not sell it to me. The time on the receipt was 5:20 pm, even though I was in line before the online order was placed they would not sell me the potato. What I really bothers me other than poor customer skills is the fact that on a Saturday night at the dinner rush their already out of products. I’m very disappointed with my first experience with Dickie’s I cannot rate the food because I didn’t eat anything. How ever customer service and management very poor. If you plan on eating here you might want to call to see what’s available.

Dickey’s just opened in Merced so I decided to give it a try. The staff was very welcoming. As soon as we walked in they told us about their daily specials. Everyday they have a different deal going on for $ 9.99 which includes meat, two sides, and a drink. They also have complimentary soft serve as well. I ordered the Thursday special which came with cheddar sausage, pulled pork, and I chose Mac n Cheese and Waffle Fries as my sides. The mac n cheese was good. The fries were under seasoned and the pulled pork was a bit dry for my taste. The sausage was pretty good tho. My friend got a brisket sandwich which he enjoyed. Overall it was pretty good. You can’t complain about good food and service.

Heard about this place opening in Merced. Went last week to check it out. Damn the staff are awesome! They greet you when you walk in, pretty much hold your hand the whole time your in there. Which is a good thing because their menu is huge and kinda confusing. I got the Westerner with a side of fried okra and green beans. Only complaint I had was the cheese and bread were cold making my meat get cold pretty fast. But it was still good. I came back for my second visit yesterday and brought the family. They really liked the food and the staff was great. They came by and offered to get us anything we needed. Pretty hard to find fast food places that care about there customers like that. Planning a return trip next time I’m in Merced. P. s. Ice cream hack(rootbeer float) it’s bomb!

The service was good. The biggest holdup is the people in front of you trying to make up their minds. Other than that the food is made in front of you, and ready at checkout. The food was good. We had pulled pork, beef brisket, turkey breast, and chicken breast. All of which, were seasoned and cooked well. Don’t know about you guys but I love me some bbq sauce and the sauce here is awesome. The only complaint I would have is that the family meal will feed everyone but not fill everyone up. Maybe if you’re on the small side it would lol. The drinks are self serve, which is good. Sweet tea is good, and not over the top sweet like McDonald’s tea. The place is medium sized and all tables no booths. Only complaint is that the trash can holes are a bit small. Over all a good experience. Will definitely be going back.

Ok, 1, 2, 3 meat plate gives you ~ different amounts(6 oz, 4 oz, 3 oz) of meat(they don’t explain this) and sides. My okra was excellent. The pulled pork was good, the brisket very good. Unfortunately, the aluminum trays are stone cold, so by the time you pay, get to your seat and eat, meat is almost cold. We arrived just after 5:20 and there was 1 table eating and 2 to go orders waiting. Pleasant gal asked us it would be a few minutes, so ok. Must be a new staff hired just that day, as she was cutting and wrapping meat, greeting customers, and telling the two other gals to put pickels & onions on each plate.(I thought come on, after one customer you should realize how to set up a plate) so this hard working gal is almost a one man band, tells another worker what needs to come forward to be cooked as when taking an order from a customer isn’t suggestion enough that you actually have to cook the food ordered. The four in our party all ordered the two meat, one plate was missing the bun, two other plates missing the pickels and onions. Oh, well. So my point, processes need to be worked out. Customer flow procedures. Next, eather verbally greet each customer and verbally explan or find a more comprehensive way to tell your customers what is going on. The drinks(BTW, couldn’t even find drinks on the menu board, so we asked for water cups) and ice cream, we didn’t know until a nice server stopped twice to check on us and I asked;“where is the ice cream on the menu” when our meal was finished, that it is included. Suggestions, warm your trays. 100″ or so would make a huge difference. BBQ sauce was warmed so that helps. Owner /Manager. Go sit at a table and watch customers come in, they stare up, ask each other and say:“I think hownit works is.. .. .. « We want this restaurant to be successful, goodness knows Merced /Atwater need any kind of Restaurant(other than Mexican food, we have plenty) to survive. The food was tasty, however the exicution of operation has got to shape up quickly.

Just got dinner from the Dickey’s in Merced and it has issues! The rolls are burnt, and the Mac and cheese is watery and the brisket is dry! Save your money and go up the road to the Dickey’s in Turlock, it is way better and worth the drive. Merced needs to get it together and go up the road themselves and see how it is suppose to be done, I am pulling for them, get it together! If Merced Dickey’s is the first one you have been to, this is not how the food is suppose to be, it’s better in Turlock and Modesto.

Wow, someone doesn’t even order food and they give a restaurant one star? Pretty pathetic. They just opened last week and the place was packed, cut them some slack. Probably one of the best new restaurants that’s come to Merced. Amazing smoked meats. The pulled pork was melt in your mouth good and the baby back ribs fell off the bone. Excellent variety of BBQ sauces and the sides were good. I wish they had cornbread rolls instead of regular, then this place would be truly off the charts Finally another above average food spot in Merced. Can’t wait to go back

Worst ever. I ranted and raved to all my coworkers about how good the food was at Dickeys, I made a complete fool of myself. We called it in at 10:30 and at 11:30 my coworker was still being told that it wasn’t ready. There was no one in the place AND the did not have a few of the items we requested. They were«running behind» according to the someone, my coworker said he seemed flustered, lost and confused. Inexperienced if you would… We ordered salads, SALADS… the onion tanglers were burnt and the amount of salad consisted of only 5 actual fork bites. I am truly embarrassed for this place and for myself since I highly recommended it and it was terrible. I think they need an experienced food person/manager ASAP.

Went in and there’s was literally only a table of four in there eating. Waited where it says«order here«for about 4 minutes and he kid that’s supposed to take the order never acknowledged me. So I went down to the register and a lady came and asked if she could help. I gave her my order and she told me oh you have to go down there and order. Was in there for 7 minutes and didn’t get anything. Walked out because they took to long. There was no one In there but 6 employees working. None of which helped me. Will try one more time and better be top notch or I’m done.
