The best Mexican food in town… been coming here for years no complaints the food is unbeatable at the price. Huge portions my wife and I always share a plate

I can say the guys and gals that I have seen working there are wonderful. The tall cook is spicy to look at. But, the food has gone down and surprisingly the prices went up. Guys make good quality food and you will be there for more years to come. If you skimp or inflate. Your customers will disappear.

I used to come here a lot decided to have some rolled tacos. First off I wanted chicken and I used to get chicken here all the time. They no longer serve chicken rolled tacos. When I asked for guacamole they mixed it with sour cream. I like sour cream but the ratio for guac to spur cream was more sour cream than guacamole. I was very disappointed in the way the food tasted as well. I must say it used to be way cleaner as well. Only time I will ever come back is when I am highly intoxicated and I am dragged into this place.

Everything is drowned in cheese & sour cream. It’s gross. The Maria’s in Medera was so much better. I would never go here again. Tripas were chewy & taco salad was so tiny. Everything else had too much sour cream & cheese. I love sour cream & cheese but I want to taste my meat!

The best place to get authentic Mexican food. The place is surprisingly clean for that area. Employers don’t speak much English but they know the menu. Lock this destination on your GPS cause its a place to go for fresh hot food.

The food here is pretty good but I think the way the workers handle the food is disgusting. I haven’t been here for awhile because last time I went I was going to get some salsa from the salad bar but when I look there were dead flies in the salsa and the guacamole. It was so gross. I feel like if the workers don’t pay attention to what’s inside the salad bar they probably don’t pay attention to what was on their meat and food. There could have been flies in the kitchen and landed on the carne asada steak that I was eating. I will never ever come back to this place. I gave it a 3⁄5 because the staff was friendly just very unhygienic.

Absolutely disgusting and overly greasy meat. Not to mention that there were about 8 dead flies sitting on the tables and the seats in the back of the restaurant. I brought it up to the cashier and she kind of just looked at me confused shrugged her shoulders and said oh I’ll go clean it up. When she finally did clean it up about five minutes later she didn’t even bother to use any sanitizer, just a wet towel. So gross. Didn’t even eat our tacos. Never gong back. Every time I think Merced can’t disappoint me anymore than it already has… It somehow manages to prove me wrong.

The food was bland and unappetizing. Also, their machine for debit cards didn’t work when we tried to pay. Wouldn’t recommend or go back.

Our food was on point! Rolled tacos, shrimp cocktail, sope and chorizo burrito hit the spot. The salsa bar is stocked and they keep it fresh. Best place to grab a bite when you’re starving…

I can only say horrible in so many ways. Three bites into my taco, and I was done. It was dry and tasted like old oil. My first bite was a deep fried chunk of fat. NEVER going back. UGH. Big waste of money.

This place never fails me whenever I come back to my hometown. I am literally hooked on their rolled tacos(flautas)!! I can’t find anywhere close to this in sacramento. It’s authentic and sooo sooo good! It’s really a must get whenever my boyfriend and I are back in town. Good food, good service, & their flautas stay crunchy even after 10 mins. Ah-ma-zing!

Pretty good place. I ordered to go with a bacon and egg burrito and I thought it was exceptionally good. Also for the price for 5 dollars for a filling burrito isn’t bad either on top of it being a 24 hour service.

I’d been told that Maria’s was the best Mexican food in town, and after I had such a good experience at José’s, I wanted to see if it was really better; it honestly wasn’t. It was still very good — I have no complaints taste-wise. They didn’t get my order completely right, but compensated for it. The bottom line is that I WOULD eat there again, but I’d rather just go to José’s.

At first Maria’s use to be the place where my Boyfriend and I would go for our Mexican fix. We liked it. We honestly did. I have even brought my friend here who doesn’t even go to school at UCM. That’s how much I liked it. KEYWORD: liked Yes I’m being the rude Unilocaler today, but I gotta speak the truth… The last time my boyfriend and I went to Maria’s was probably more than a month ago, and we ordered the supreme nachos and some sopes. The sopes tasted good that visit, but the supreme nachos with carne asada were off. The Sour cream was too watery and there was little flies. I think maybe fruit flies? The first one we saw, we kinda shrugged at it thinking«okay, this probably just got near the food» but then we spotted 2 – 3 more… Eeeee, too many files for our taste… Not in the restaurant, but hanging out specifically on our nachos… We’ve been here plenty of times, but these flies ruined it for us, and we’ll probably never come back.

My first time here I was sitting near the counter, eating away at a Burrito Supreme. The phone rang, and the lady working the front didn’t pick it up. It rang about 6 times and then it stopped. About 4 seconds later it rang again. After a few rings she answered. There was a pause, and I heard the following: «…We’re open 24 hours… … What’s that? … … … Yes, we’re open right now.» Someone asked the 24 hour taco shop if they were open. About 5 minutes later the phone rang again. The lady picked up. Someone on the other end started ordering. The lady was writing it down and repeating what the person ordered. Then when it seemed like the person was wrapping up I heard her say: «What’s that? No, that’s Mario’s. This is Maria’s. Ma-ree-aaahs. Okay, bye.» Then she crumpled up the paper and threw it in the trash. The burrito supreme was pretty good. Not great, mind you, but pretty good. So good that I couldn’t understand all the bad reviews. Then I went back and ordered the nachos. Holy crap, those are the worst nachos ever. They use fake cheese, like the kind you get from a spray can. I had nachos with spray on cheese. What’s weird is that they added real cheese on top, AND they give real cheese with their burritos. Why use spray cheese? This was worse than ballpark nachos, and that’s a considerable feat because ballpark nachos taste like considerable feet.

This place is amazing. Food is always good and I have not had a bad food yet. Their burritos are cheap($ 4.25) and super tasty. My favorite is the Ham and egg burrito and add some bacon to make it complete. Their carne asada fries are to die for. I tried menudo for the first time and I really liked it. I love the salsa bar because their Pico de gallo is great, and their chipotle sauce is great with the fries or burritos. They have diced onions, carrots, jalepenos. There are three different salsas. This place is the BEST place for late night food in Merced open 24 hours a day.

Love how this place is open 24 hours. I usually go here when I grave for some taco in the middle of the night. I usually get carnitas or carne asada tostada. Their horchata hits the spot as well! They have endless sauce and salsa for you to get. They also provide bags and utensil for you to take home. Not like those other stingy Mexican taco shop.
