Kimberly’s Old World Rugs

Just discovered the best kept secret in all of Seattle! Kimberly is passionate, honest, and very informative regarding her rugs. It’s unusual to buy out of someone’s home but her set up is perfect… love the «by appointment only» so that the experience is intimate and unique. I’ve purchased 2 GORGEOUS rugs from her and literally paid a fraction of the retail price. I could NOT be happier and believe me, will be going back for years to come!

We have purchased two rugs that we absolutely love from Kimberly. She is very knowledgeable and friendly. She doesn’t carry a ton of inventory; but what she does carry is very high quality. Her prices are also terrific — consider that you are buying a genuine Persian rug with history for the same or less than a commercially made one. Highly recommended!

I would never have thought that I would grow up and have a rug person, but I totally consider Kim «my rug person.» She gets great and diverse stock in rugs — Persian, Turkish, Indian — with a good range of prices, conditions, colors, and patterns. One thing I love is that she can always tell you about what the patterns in the rugs signify (it’s often not obvious!) and where they are from. I was fortunate to find Kim just as we were buying our «new» house in 2009. I haven’t bought a rug elsewhere since. Whenever I «need» a new rug (and let’s be honest, a person can always find a reason), Kim usually has something I think I will love on her web site. Usually I end up leaving with a rug, although rarely the one that I thought I would leave with. In any case, she’s great to work with — no pressure, you can’t beat the prices, and you often leave feeling like a better global citizen for getting a high-​quality used rug instead of something brand new (though she does sell some that are brand new).

If you’re unfamiliarity with Mercer Island, finding the place is a bit tricky. Kim, however, is super friendly and her rugs are of good quality and reasonably priced. If you need a Persian (or Persian-​inspired) rug, come here.

I cannot imagine a more reputable and knowledgeable rug dealer than Kim. When working with her, I am reminded of the critical difference of working with a trusted professional. She not only has a collection of beautiful rugs, but knowledge about each rug that will help you to determine if it’s a fit for your space and lifestyle.

I have been meaning to post a review for quite some time. I have bought three rugs from Kim and have been impressed by her professionalism and how she took extra time to tell me about some of her rugs and the region where they were made. You can tell that she loves what she does and that she is passionate about it! Her prices are very reasonable. When Kim accidentally overcharged me, she was quick to right it, which I really appreciated. I’m so glad I found her business!

Purchased my first rug from Kim today. It was a great experience as she is very knowledgeable and extremely patient! There are so many options that it’s probably best to come with specific colors/​style/​measurements in mind. Be sure to allow yourself plenty of time to see everything. The rugs are lovely and Kim was very patient about rolling out many different rugs for viewing. She does not pressure and is very informative. This is a great place to buy an affordable rug.

Kimberly offers nice rugs at prices mere mortals can afford. (Indeed, many of her rugs are priced lower than what machine-​made «Persian» rugs sell for elsewhere.)
No-​pressure, no misrepresentation of the merchandise, very helpful. I’ve been back a couple of times and have referred others, who all report similar experiences.

I just purchased from her last evening. Very professional, low pressure. Her ‘office’ is in the garage of her nice home in Mercer Island. My advice is though, «bring cash». She provides a cash discount.
The rug I purchased was well worth the cost. Her prices are marked and you pay that cost. No Turkish bazaar haggling needed
