Mountain Plus

Bought a $ 12 item, paid an extra $ 7.50 for UPS Ground. I received the wrong item 5 days later from the USPS. I called them, was told they would send my item and an envelope to return the other item to them. Called back 6 days later, was told that they were trying to contact the customer whose item I received so that we could just mail the item to each other, assuming he got my item. Emailed them 32 days after ordering telling them I knew they wouldn’t send my item (they didn’t), that I didn’t expect them to respond (they didn’t), and I was pretty sure I wouldn’t get my money back (I haven’t). I ordered this item 60 days ago. Hope the $ 20 was worth losing a customer over.

These guys are the worst business I have ever dealt with in my life. I ordered an tent + footprint from them, which claimed it was «In Stock» and they called me back and told me it would take a few weeks. I am patient and understanding so I said that would be fine. Now 3 months after reassuring me 4 times when I have called inquiring where my tent is they tell me they can sell me the tent without the footprint for the same price as I had purchased their advertised price of tent+footprint.
I purchased this tent in the dead of winter when there were many good deals around and now its camping season and prices are at a premium. They totally SCREWED ME OVER. I spent a lot of time searching for the right tent at the right price and now I have to start all over. These people are a joke and they should go out of business. If you find a low price on their site good luck actually trying to get them to honor it. If they say its in stock, it is not. STAY AWAY STAY AWAY!

The have great customer service and try their best to be attentive.
They are mainly web based, but do have a shop with some items on Mercer Island.
I was able to find almost everything I needed for cyclocross and cycling on their site, and endorse the products and brands they use.

Placed order for Thule cargo box in stock that never shipped. After 1 month, requested cancellation. 2 months later, my credit card gets charged.

I bought a tent from their website (
). This is, without the doubt, the worst outdoor shopping site on the internet: delayed shipment, unresponsive customer service and overall shady business.
I’ve put an order for a Big Agnes tent through their website, 5 days passes by and they are radio silent. No email, no notification what so ever whether they have shipped or even are preparing to ship it or not. I had to call their customer service 4 times (by online chat and phone) and they are not even shipping it yet. Their customer service just hangs up in the middle of the call without an explanation. They give hollow promises that they will ship tomorrow, but they don’t.
I finally managed to cancel my order. I will never look back at their website.
They also spammed my inbox everyday sending their «amazing» deals. Don’t give them your primary email. I wrote a review of their website on the internet and they started to threaten, harassing and insulting me. This was the worst shopping experience I ever had.
Do yourself a favor and avoid them like a plague!

I went to Veloce to get a new pump for my bike. The lady told me I HAD to get a ground pump for my bike, because the hand one would take over 20 minutes to pump. Really?! Come on, 20 minutes? that’s a bit more than an exaggeration. But I played along and found the cheapest ground pump for $ 45. To me, that’s not very cheap. So I decided to check Mountains Plus before I made my purchase. The store is tiny compared to Veloce, but it turns out they mainly do business online and have a warehouse full of stuff, which is why the place is so small. Anyway, I was helped out by a very nice and knowledgable guy (sadly, I didn’t get his name) who didn’t pressure me to purchase the most expensive and unnecessary things at his store. I asked if they had any pumps available (both ground and hand pumps) and their prices were $ 20+ cheaper than at Veloce. I ended up getting the hand pump (and no, it didn’t take me 20 minutes to pump up my completely flat tires. More along the line of 20 seconds), and he even installed it on my bike for me. It was a wonderful experience. I don’t know if all their other items are cheaper than Veloce (I only went for a pump), but I’d have to assume, since they’re mainly an online retailer, they should be. Anyway, if you ever need anything bike related on the Island, I’d check these guys out.
