Always tasty sausages and kielbasa! Try the fresh horse radish to clear your sinuses! Great place hidden on a side street.

Love Filipek’s. My grandmother took me here when I was a little girl because she loved their smoked kielbasa. Today I go to Filipek’s because I love the fresh kielbasa(and the bread from Alberts). I also have to mention the double smoked spicy kielbasa –it is excellent!

Purchased two links of kielbasa. It was ground so fine that it was loose when it was cut and fell apart in my mouth. Flavor was not how I remember – it’s been awhile since going here. Seems like some corners were cut? Sadly, I won’t be back and now have another link to contend with. The horseradish was delicious but that’s about it.

This place is such a little gem… They have an older polish woman working here who tells you all about the Kielbasa and sausages. She is amazing. As soon as you walk in, this place is no bigger than your standard ½ bath(lol!!) but the product is great. They have smoked kielbasa and fresh. I go here every time I need some good kielbasa. This place is literally in a neighborhood and in a residential area, absolutely no other businesses near it. You WILL drive by it if you are not looking. A+++

I’ll give 5 stars, only because I cannot leave TEN!!! My wife use to live about 100 feet or so from this place… and she was there OFTEN, apparently! Many years ago she would go there to get their kielbasas and sausages… et all… whatever they were selling. Although we currently live in NV she speaks of Filipek often with fond memories. Well, she and I were back in Meriden last June(2013), and we stopped in for a taste of memory lane. We bought two kielbasas and FORTUNATELY as we started driving away the cell phone rang. My wife started chatting away on it, and I started chewing away on the sausage(cooked). By the time her call was over and done, so was about a third of the kielbasa. It was SOGREAT! OM Goodness!!! Long story short: we turned our car around, we went back, and we bought two more sausages(kielbasas) for the long trip back to NV. We noticed too that several«old timers» from the local area were parking on the street to stop in for their daily(or maybe weekly) supply of the best tasting sausage in the state! We will definitely be stopping there again when in town… and we HOPE it sticks around for many years to come. The girl running the shop(grand-daughter of the original owner) was very nice. She allowed us to take photos of the shop and the product! The pricing was very fair too! In a nutshell…10 stars!!! Please support your local business!

Once or twice a year I come to visit my gram in Meriden, CT from AZ. Every visit my father and I stock up on kielbasa from Filipek’s to bring back with us. This place has the best kielbasa I’ve ever had — and I am reminded to write a review today as I am cooking up one for today’s work potluck. They have no idea what kind of treat they are in for! The place is a cute little house on a seemingly residential street. Small shop, really friendly people. They have refrigerators of stuffed cabbage and pierogies as well, but I have never tried them. The double smoked seems to be a hit with my family, but I just prefer the plain olé stuff. I also enjoy their yellowed newspaper clipping of the United States that is sprinkled with push pins all over the country of customers who have shopped at Filipek’s!
