Definitely Top 3 pizza places in CT, in my opinion. Plain, and simple. Incredible pizza, great staff.

Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. No it’s not deep dish, and no it’s not NY style, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. A thin crust, fairly crispy. Great ingredients. It’s a simple dish in theory, so the base ingredients must be of high quality. I love their sauce because it’s not too sweet, and the meat and cheese toppings are always fresh and of great quality as well. Everyone should go here. Even if it ends up not being your style, it’s worth a try.

The crust at LR is unusual: it’s very thin and crispy, cracker-like, with essentially no rise at all. They definitely blur the line between«charred» and«burnt» which is dangerous territory in my opinion. So, the crust is not my favorite, nor is it a New Haven or NY-style pizza — it’s their own style, and clearly a lot of people love it. The sauce & cheese were good but the pepperoni was a little dried out & lacking flavor. The building has a very unique & historic atmosphere. I appreciate that they’ve stuck around for so long doing it their way, but overall the pizza was just«pretty good» in my book.

Great place. 1st time there and yes it is the best pizza in meriden but a little too thin to be considered new haven style. Nice friendly staff and a strange building that adds to its character. I will be back to try other types of pizza.

Excellent pizza. Coal fired 100+ oven. They only serve pizza. Owner is a pizza making machine. While there is an area to eat, this is mostly take out. On busy nights(weekend especially) the wait could be an hour plus. Have no fear, you can call in earlier in the day to have the pizza ready at a designated time. Favorite toppings:. Cheese, eggplant and bacon.

Of course I’m giving this place five stars. I’ve been eating it since I was baby. Almost 30 years! We ordered this for pizza night every Friday. Their naked pizza is the best and I recommend trying it.

Drive over an hour«willingly» as this place offers the BEST pizza in Connecticut. Crust is thin, chewy, holds up, and is spot on. Sauce is superb, the ingredients for everything is perfect… it’s artistry personified… wonderful. It’s an experience to walk in, watch, and then devour the results of their labors, AWESOME !!!

We came here after reading the reviews. I gave this place five stars because I believe it is the best pizza in Meriden, CT however if I had to compare it to the pizza in New Haven and New York, I would give it a four stars. We came on a Wednesday night and there was one family which took up the whole dining room.(dining room very small). After they left it was just the two of us the rest of the time. The pizza was very good and the folks working there were real people who run one of the best run local pizza dives. If you are looking for local and good food, you found the right spot. If you have a credit card you need to find a different place. Luckily I read the reviews and knew to bring cash. They seem to do a good take out business because lots of customers were coming in and out for take out. I’m certain that I will be getting take out from here as well. On the walls, there are historic things about Meriden.

I’ll keep this short. I love pizza. I’ve tried it all over the world. I’ve been a fan of this place for almost 27 years. I’d walk a mile in the snow in January on my knees… for a large pepperoni & sausage. Seriously, I would.

This is hands down the best pizza this state has to offer. Having been born and raised in Meriden I may be a little biased, but try it for yourself and you’ll see what I mean. This place is in a class of its own. Perfectly crispy slices with great fresh ingredients, extra crispy crust… can’t be beat. In my honest opinion it puts Pepe’s, Modern and Sally’s to shame, unless you’re really into the greasy messy kind of pizza they have to offer.

I loved this place while living in Meriden. We would order at least every two weeks and every time they would ask over the phone if you know how their pizza is cooked because of the coal oven causes the pizza to be crispy but they never disappoint! The price point is above average but well worth it.

New Haven style pizza smack dab in the middle of Meriden. Fresh ingredients, coal oven induced crispiness and taste. Great for the kids to see how the century-old coal oven cooks the pizzas. My daughter loved it! I can honestly say that this place is one of those hidden gems.

Having a coal-fired oven, I had gone here assuming it was New Haven-style pizza. I ordered a cheese pie with regular crust and soon discovered it was not New Haven style pizza… but that is okay. I’ve found it difficult to find a good pizza place in CT that isn’t New Haven style(which, by the way, I love!) or Greek style. This place did not disappoint… The sauce is delicious, and they don’t skimp on it like some places. The cheese is cooked well done, which is the way I like it. And a little drizzle of olive oil on top adds some nice flavor. This will definitely be a place I will pick up some pies from on the way home from work when I don’t feel like New Haven style pizza!

I’m a pizza snob and this is some great pizza. My only wish is that they would stop using canned mushrooms

CT has been taking in recent attention grabbing glory of best Pizza in «the country» lately. In my opinion it’s «the world». Now now… Before you get all maniacal on me, settle down,. Breathe… Let’s just sort this out for a moment, If we will. The two main cities that come to mind when discussing the legitimacy of pizza would be. C’mon,. You can tell me… This is the circle of trust. So,.? Yep. There you go… Chicago. And?!? NY. Ok, I’ve also heard good things about San Francisco, but who knows? Every time I try to make it that far west I end up collecting baseball cards in Vegas. … (What do you mean those aren’t baseball cards???) .? Smh… Moving on… As of late, up until just recent breakthroughs, that has been the«Great Debate». NY thin soggy slice Or The Chicago deep dish. BUT!!! Now out of the shadows cast by the metro north rail system, comes,. A third competitor in this race of saucy pie shaped flavors and texture… New Haven. Like Yale,. New Haven. Yes!!! That guy got it! Round of applause for that guy! Multiple resources in the past year, maybe two, have given credit to the home of the Amistad. New Haven has been quoted to have, at least, 3 of the top 20 best pizza spots in the US. (Pepe’s, Modern, and Sally’s. [Although I personally prefer Aladdin {pronounced Ah-lah-deen}, or Brick Oven over any of those]) Bringing me back to my original point. Who in the world has better pizza than us??? Long story short. I believe Little Rendezvous is either the trickle down of the New Haven powerhouses or vice versa,. Which ever came first. What ever it is it worked. This pizza good. Sorry for my long-windedness. This subject is close to my heart.

Oh man. This place was a total hole in the wall, and from the outside looked like a run down shack. That being said, complete diamond in the rough. Pizza was a slice of heaven– thin crust, lightly crispy. We had feta and pepperoni which was an amazing combination. They don’t do any delivery, just pick up. The counter girl(owner?) told us that on the weekends they usually hit two hour waits for pick up. Crazy. Highly recommend– wish I lived closer!

The best place for crisp, brick oven style pizza around! We love the home made sauce and the authentic flavors! Coal fired oven produces the perfect aroma!

Little Rendezvous gives New Haven a run for its money! The pizza is extremely thin and crispy, with a slightly burnt crust. The price is PERFECT, even better than New Haven! I love the workers at the restaurant, who are always friendly and even have come to remember my order(although a small cheese is an easy one to remember). I HIGHLY recommend getting a pizza from the Vouz! Give yourself some extra time when ordering, as it gets backed up very easily.
