I have brought my four-year-old son here a few times and we were pleased with both the cut and the customer service. Crystal was really gentle with my little guy, who tends to be squirmy. The stylists work fast, so kids don’t have to sit for too long. My only real complaint is that they are usually busy, so you might end up waiting 30 – 40 minutes if you are a walk-in(although they do have a nice waiting area with toys, a chalkboard and a foosball table). Best to make an appointment or go right when they open.

Butcher job! Totally messed up my sons hair for back to school. I would avoid at all costs! Never going back!

I stopped in here to get my 5 year old daughter a quick hair cut. She had been asking and this was convenient because you don’t need an appointment and they are in the mall. I immediately regretted that decision. I explained what we wanted for her hair and the hair dresser looked like she had no idea what I was talking about. She then proceeded to give her a rushed, not so cute haircut. It came out really bad. It is crooked and just bad. She was also not friendly and the experience was not fun. The only good thing about the salon is the cute waiting area, cute hair cut chairs, and the TVs so the kids can watch and stay entertained during the cut.

For some reason it’s difficult to find a strictly children’s hair salon in CT. Being originally from FL, we always used Cool Cuts 4 Kids — they were professional, talented, affordable, and really great with children… Everything Snip Snaps is not! We have our 4 yr old son’s hair cut every 6 weeks. So we happened to be at the Meriden Mall a couple of weeks ago, and stopped in to make an appointment for a few weeks out. They had an appointment book, and wrote down our information, but it should have been a clue when NOTHING else was written in the book. We showed up at our appointment time on a Saturday at noon to find 4 people signed up(walk-ins) in front of us, and were told they’d have to finish up with everyone else first. Why make an appointment? Then when it was our turn, the«stylist»(I use the term loosely), asked us how we wanted the cut. Because we cut his hair regularly, we said just trim it up, and we pointed at around the ears(keep the hair off the ears), at the bangs that were past his eyebrows(keep it just above the brows), at the hair in the back getting too long(keep it straight), and at the different lengths of hair on his head(keep the top longer while the sides shorter). I thought we explained it well — it’s the same explanation we say to every stylist he’s had before(which there’s only been 3 others before this dreadful event). Man, were we wrong!!! She proceeded to get the clippers and buzzed his hair!!! As soon as I saw her reach for the clippers(with a comb in her hand too), I thought she was going to clipper instead of cut his hair using the comb as the guard. Nope, she just went right up the back. I looked at my husband in shock and just started crying. Our son has baby fine blonde hair — a buzz cut doesn’t look good with his hair — he looks bald! And we did this the Saturday before Easter — all his Easter photos now show this dreadful haircut! On top of all this, with only buzzing his entire head, she was done in — no lie — 2 mins, and then charged $ 15 for it. I was too emotional to say anything and I don’t want my son to think there’s ever something wrong with his appearance, so I couldn’t say anything in front of him about the WORST haircut I’ve ever seen. It’s not even a haircut — it’s a buzz cut! It’s not even straight. My husband had to take his clippers at home and straighten out the neck area and around the ears. PLEASE stay away. Do yourself a favor. I don’t usually bad mouth a business — especially a mom-and-pop one, everyone’s gotta make a buck too — but this is one place that seriously needs to be shut down. It’s part of a chain apparently, and I wouldn’t ever trust to go to another one either.
