I love how ribbons and paper can be unique and beautiful. Everywhere I go I travel I often stop at boutique’s and small stores to purchase fine papers and ribbon. I was very excited to visit a few friends in Idaho this last week. In showing me around their state, my eye caught a small store and I asked if we could stop. When we walked in I felt that I was not welcome. I did not get greeted, but that did not detour me. I saw speciality ribbons that I wanted. When I saw that there were items that I wanted, I asked the associates to cut some ribbon for me. They told me that I could give them the ribbons and they then continued to do other tasks behind the counter and did not seemed interested in helping me with anything. When I gave the ribbons that I wanted to have trimmed to the employee behind the counter, she trimmed them and then without folding the organza they proceeded to ball it up and put in the plastic bag. I am sad to say that I don’t believe that is the proper way to handle organza ribbon. I used to work at a speciality paper store and there is a gentleness that needs to be done with delicate ribbons. I was disappointed when I saw that, so I proceeded to ask the lady behind the counter is there was another way she could roll up my ribbon and she acted like she didn’t understand why I was asking it. She told me no basically. At that point I would have not purchased the ribbon, but I know that once ribbon is cut it should be purchased. I would not recommend this store to anyone and it is too bad, because there was some cool things in it. But I wouldn’t want anyone to experience the attitude that I had experienced!
