Never again. I have gone here for years. We ended getting a copy of Mario Maker as a gift and we bought one for ourselves. I went into the store to ask for an exchange, NOT A REFUND of the brand new sealed game. We could not find our receipt but we are club card holders. The cashier found it under the club card and confirmed the purchase. The assistant manager started treating me like a thief and acting very rude to me. I showed them my ID and the girl started the exchange process. The manager then came up to me and said she needed to physically take my ID. I told her this was not needed since the purchase was confirmed and that cashier had already verified it. I also pointed out that it said on the Toys R Us sign that an exchange or refund can be processed with one of the following 1. Govt issued ID, 2. Receipt 3. Or through the Toys R US Club Card. She told the cashier not to do the exchange for me. I felt very uncomfortable handing my ID over to this power hunger manager. I took the game to a rival electronics store and explained the horrible incident. The manager happily accepted the game into his inventory(even though it probably was not allowed) and gave us a new game. TOYS R US, you lost a life long customer. Store I will not mentioned, you retained a life long customer. I will not mention the store in case it gets that manager in trouble. «No longer a Toys R Us Kid!!»

I don’t get out to The Village very often, but I was attending a baby shower and the expecting parents were registered here. I went on a Saturday afternoon — bad idea. I’m not a huge fan of crowds, so it certainly was not my cup of tea. When I arrived, I quickly located the registry station(the layout of the store is awesome — especially for how large it is) and was surprised to see there was only one self-use printer. There was 3 or 4 computers, but as one of them was occupied by an employee, it was clear those were not up for grabs. There was about 5 ladies in front of me, but it was clear they were in two groups. I got in line and waited. And waited. For whatever reason, the first group couldn’t figure out the printer. Just when they got their things and walked away, and the second group approached the screen, an employee greeted me and let me know she could print a registry for me. I sat across from her and waiting for ten minutes as she tried to figure things out. I’m not sure if she was unfamiliar with the system or if it wasn’t working correctly, as that was not communicated with me. After finally receiving the printed registry, well actually two copies for some reason, I set off to find the baby goods. As I mentioned, the store is very well laid-out and things were very easy to find! It took me less than 5 minutes to find what I wanted and get checked out.

From age 25 to 28, I visited every Toys R Us I could find! I was always on the hunt for Transformers and when I found the right one, I even did a happy dance. A handful of years later, I visit Toys R Us for a different reason. I am now a parent and the Baby’s R Us side of the store has been a life saver. Sure, visiting this place still crushes my soul a little bit every time I visit but it has what we need. We’ve had both good and bad experiences here. We’ve found greatly helpful employees and we’ve also found those employees who have no clue where they are at. Again, focusing on the Baby’s R Us side, we love the vast selection and immediate availability of products. We’ve even had to order stuff but it wasn’t broke when it arrived. Sure Walmart and Target have cheaper prices on some things but I’ll take variety over cheap prices when it comes to my child.
