Stopped in recently to give catch 22 a second shot. Considering it’s been a couple years since my last visit/review. It wasn’t a total train wreck like last time but was nothing great, burger tasted way over seasoned and like they were covering up that they started with a freezer burnt preformed patty. Service was decent. Overall I don’t see my self returning. They seem to draw a large late night bar crowd, maybe the drinks are good.

So… Their burgers… Yum. Wings with the Asian sauce… Yum. Shrimp off the appetizer menu… Yum. Fried pickles… Yum. Stuffed pretzels… Yum. Nachos… Better than okay. Mondays after 4:00 half off appetizers… Yes. Totally worth it. They have an air hockey table. Bring quarters… a buck a game. My 10 year old beat me 7 – 6. Hope you have better luck against your kid. ^_~

Each time I’ve eaten here the food is excellent. It’s not a standard bar food menu. Plus they have about 20 taps usually with decent brews. I’ll take this place over the typical chain sports bar each and every time.

Food was good when I went about a year ago. Came back, and the food was pretty awful. In fact, I would’ve been better off cooking at home. That’s quite a statement considering I can’t cook.

Wish I had read this before going! Limited menu and nothing is freshly made. Service was fine.

Horrible service New waitresses forced to work alone. Waiting for my order for nearly an hour. When the order arrived, it was wrong. Should’ve just gone to McDonald’s.

Third time I’ve been here, third time for my good friend also. The common denominator? HORRIBLESERVICE! The food isn’t bad! The pretzels were delicious. And the fish tacos are always fantastic. Tonight’s «server» Missy was especially awkward, asking if she could deliver someone’s beer and pretzels before we could even place our order. I mean, why even stop? She was so uncomfortable, interjecting her opinion about the crispness of fries, and thinking that I’d probably need ketchup(since I asked for it). Why not just bring the ketchup? Why did I ask twice? So much weird small talk. It was like an SNL skit. Or someone nervous telling us about herself at a support group. Then when the bill needed to be provided, and divided, that left just a little more room to screw up. At least we got a nice laugh. Also, instead of paying two hostesses to stand there and girl talk for fun, maybe they should cut one and have her clean the bathrooms instead. Because they were pretty disgusting. Makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like.

As much as I enjoyed being at Catch 22 in Merrillville on Saturday to wish my crossfit brother the very best in Florida I will NEVER step foot in that place again. The waitress came and told me she couldn’t take anymore orders because they were swamped in the kitchen with orders and it was piling up so therefore she couldn’t take my son and my order. I’ve never heard such a thing and I told her I’m a paying customer and this was unacceptable and very unprofessional. I told her I needed to eat because I haven’t eaten and I have to take my chemo pill. I told her this is not my problem and they are to serve their customers no matter how busy they are. I told her tell your manager to come talk to me so I can give him a piece of my mind and that the media will have a field day knowing this establishment refused to take a cancer patient’s order. Of course he never came but the waitress came and told me she could take your order. My son and I will never go there again.
