Cozy environment and the best frittatas you’ve ever had! Even if you had a less than stellar experience in the past, I recommend returning to try a frittata. Yum!

We had breakfast this Sunday what an experience! First we waited at our table for over 15 minutes to have our order taken and then it was only after I stopped a wait staff, then the food arrived all 3 of us had cold food, could not get coffee refills, found a bug in the glass of ice water… must I go on. I requested to speak to the manager never did come to resolve the complaints. There are many fine placed near by to eat with good service and better food, I will not frequent this establishment again.

I use to LOVE this place. The waffles were crispy and the service was prompt and friendly. After visiting today, I saw they had changed their menu. It’s downsize but they cut out my favorite… THEWAFFLE. Instead, I ordered the fried shrimp. It was nothing to rave about. It was clear that this was heated up and there was nothing«hand battered» about it. All in all, it was just OKAY. The service is still friendly, but I’d rather spend my money on some quality food.

This place has a huge menu. I’ve come here during a lunch break a few times, and have enjoyed a number of menu items, including their cheeseburger and turkey sandwich. The serving sizes are generous, and the servers we have had have always been extremely friendly.

One would expect to go to a restaurant to enjoy a cooked meal. Nope, not here. Nearly all the stuff is low-quality, pre-packaged food, just heated up. It’s pretty disgusting. I had the smothered chicken and it was way too salty and had kind of an indistinguishable«fake» quality about it. The veggie side dish I ordered was just generic mixed veggies from a bag that I could’ve heated up at home. So yeah, pretty huge restaurant fail.

Love stopping in for breakfast. Traditional food at a good price.

Any time we are heading for Chicago or any place«up north», Dad and I always stop at the Round the Clock in Merrillville. It’s located a couple of miles west of Interstate 65 on US30, north side of the road. It has been around for a few years, one of a group of 15 restaurants owned by brothers. It’s always busy, but never a wait(with the possible exception of Sunday lunch). The wait staff are great and there is a fair amount of fun back and forth with customers old and new. It’s a sort of Greek place that also has Italian, American, and a lot of else. The menu is enormous, but they also have a seniors menu and daily specials — I can’t imagine cooking so many different things! This week we were headed north to a supplier up by O’Hare Airport, and so we had to stop in for lunch. You get choice of soup or salad with a meal and rolls. Dad got the lemon rice soup and I chose the lentil. We both ordered the meat loaf, though the turkey breast was also calling. It was served like a beef Manhattan — meat on top of white bread with mashed potatoes and a good gravy. It was a lot of food, but we both ate almost all of it, it was so just righteous. The real main thing here is that we love their cherry turnovers. They are wonderful! We were too full for any desert, so we had to get a couple of turnovers to go. It’s good food, comfort food in a pleasant atmosphere, at a good price. A really nice break from a long drive that isn’t another cookie-cutter chain.
