I found Kathy through Unilocal and was very pleased with end result. I had dining room chairs that needed to be reupholstered after some use/​abuse from my toddlers. Kathy helped me find the right water proof, stain fabric (Crypton) and save money by advising the best place online to buy this fabric. I didn’t want to spend the next 10+ years with plastic seat covers so it was worth the extra $ for this fabric. You do need to purchase your own fabric.
Kathy was easy to reach by phone and good communication. She’s a busy lady so she reserved the date a few weeks out to do the job. She kept the commitment and picked up my chairs and dropped them off the next day. Her work was excellent and very pleased with end product. I have no idea if her rates are competitive as I didn’t research but I like to keep my business local and didn’t have time to drive my stuff around.

Kathy is extremely talented and would highly recommend her to anyone looking to have any piece of furniture reupholstered. Her work is better quality than anything you can buy at some of the high end furniture stores such as PB or C&B. Not only did she do an incredible job on making a new slipcover for a chair I bought on craigslist but her prices and turnaround time are unbeatable! I am excited to find my next piece for her to work her magic on!

If you are looking to upholster a piece of furniture, your search is over. Kathy is FABULOUS! I was willed two chairs when my grandmother died. I loved the chairs but did not love the Brady Bunch orange velvet upholstery. The store where I bought new fabric quoted me $ 600.00 to do both chairs… and these are small chairs! Thankfully I found Kathy through her ad on Craigslist. Now I have two GORGEOUS, meticulously upholstered chairs and ended up paying less than half of what I was originally quoted at that fabric store!
Kathy is based in Merrimac but will travel as far north as Manchester, NH and as far west at Worcester. She will come to you! Kathy met me both in Natick (near where I work) and at my home in Brighton. Kathy even offered to make me pillows with the extra fabric for so little money! I love the pillows just as much as I love my chairs!
She is punctual, professional, SO nice, and a lot of fun! I could not recommend her more highly! She is FANTASTIC!
