This was our first trip to Palm Tree on Grove. We were skeptical about the raving reviews we had heard from friends because this is the third restaurant in the same space. Our expectations were exceeded! We have dined all over the world, and this place ranks among the top! I had the Osso Buco and was embarrassed how intimately I enjoyed it! My husband claimed his crab cakes had more real crab than he had ever tasted. The sides were perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. We topped it off with homemade apple pie with very thin but ample slices of apple and divine seasonings. Simply mesmerized. You MUST try this gem in Merritt Island.

I don’t think I went to the same restaurant as the people in the other reviews. It is laughable to call this restaurant French in any way. Having just come home from a month in France I was excited to have another French dining option nearby. However the only close to French thing on the luncheon menu was a pheasant au vin and it was misspelled on the menu. I had the tomato, avocado, and ice berg salad with grilled chicken. I asked for ranch dressing on the side. The salad came with the balsamic dressing mentioned on the menu on the salad as well as the ranch. I could not believe I was in a french restaurant and the greens were iceberg lettuce. Shame on you! My companion had the turkey melt which she said was tasty but the accompanying potato fries with truffle were so burned they were inedible. The service was slow. We were never offered refills on the drinks. The flatwear looks like cheap tin and there was an odor coming from the nearby restroom. This restaurant definitely does not indicate any kind of fine dining or good french food… or any other kind for that matter.

The Palm Tree on Grove takes the amazing food from the old location and moves it into a venue to match. All of the food is local sourced and homemade. Dave and Amanda arrive via France and NYC. At their old location, you would be amazed that the great food was in a building with little ambiance. With the move to central Merritt Island, they have the venue to match. Best dining experience on Merritt Island.
