Quest Diagnostics Incorporated

This was my first visit to this Quest Diagnostics lab. I did not have an appointment and was a walk-​in. It was about 35 minutes from the time I signed in on the clipboard to the time I walked out the door. The receptionist was pleasant and helpful. The technician drew blood with an experienced manner, quickly and efficiently.

Terrible service… I waited 45 minutes to find out that they wouldn’t take my insurance after having asked them at the window if BCBS was accepted there. Well my specific BCBS plan wasnt… Wouldn’t you think that they would tell you that at the beginning???
Do not go here… It is a bunch of mindless robots that don’t care about your time… Now I have to go to lab corp and try this all over again another day so that I’m not late for work…

I visited this lab for routine blood work associated with changing doctors. I informed the woman at the intake that I was a new patient, just moved to the area from out of State, new doctor, new insurance. I had my ID and health card in hand. She told me she didn’t need ID at that moment, that I should sign in and wait. And wait I did. One hour and 10 minutes. At which time, when the same woman finally looked at my ID, she informed me that Quest Diagnostics did not accept my insurance. When I stated that I had given her the opportunity to tell me this when I signed in, she rudely stated that she was too busy.
I found another lab in the same neighborhood, Lab Corp, on Courtney Way, received immediate intake assistance which included confirming that the insurance I had was acceptable, and was in and out in under 20 minutes.
I would not recommend Quest Diagnostics for several reasons, apart form the rudeness and poor service. The wait time is unacceptable. If you want to book an appointment online you have to sign a waiver which allows Quest to override the ‘do not call list’, for contact beyond confirming the appointment, which is unacceptable. Furthermore, the parking lot is way too small for the number of people waiting, and many people were waiting outside because the waiting room was cramped. I cannot comment on the professionalism of the phlebotomist because I didn’t see anyone, but the woman who took my blood at Lab Corp, Penny, was terrific.
