***REVIEWFORRCI’s EXCURSIONTOUR*** This review is for an excursion tour booked through Royal Caribbean Cruise Line to the Kennedy Space Center, using Seaward Tours. Aboard the, Anthem of the Seas, embarking out of, Bayonne, New Jersey, we were«on the fence» whether to book our first port excursion in Cape Canaveral. Neither of us had been to the KSC, so we decided to make a day of it. We were picked up by a number of KSC tour buses at the cruise port, just steps away from our ship. It was a 25 minute ride to the Center, narrated by our bus and tour guides. Marsha, our tour guide, was absolutely AMAZING! Experience does count for something as she had our group running like the perfect Swiss timepiece; I love how she had fine tuned her tour to perfection! From keeping track of her 52 person group, being clear about meeting times, offering suggestions for not missing any highlights and giving tips for the easiest maneuvering through the Center. The highlights of our tour included: a visit to the Apollo/Saturn V Center, Space Shuttle Atlantis with the Shuttle Launch Experience(a simulation ride), a NASA bus ride out into the«field» for a drive-by viewing of the historic Apollo 8 launch pad and the massive shuttle transporter, and finally, a trip to the world’s largest space store, The Space Shop! One last note: if you decide to ride the Shuttle Launch Experience, get in line for this before 2:45pm, in order to catch your 4:00pm bus ride back. Possible delays include: purse/bag check-in to the lockers, long lines, and retrieving your simulator photos if you choose to purchase them. If you finish early, you can always check out the surrounding displays. Marsha, thank you for a great tour, your pleasant and fun-loving personality and for your beautiful song on the bus ride back to our cruise ship. You are admired for loving what you do… and it shows!!!
