Alex Black Golf

I had my first ever golf lesson with Alex. It was a great experience. My game has already improved.

I’m not the greatest golfer and was really looking for some instruction to keep from embarrassing myself on the occasional group outing with friends. In the past, I’ve been frustration by the game because I can’t hit the ball consistently. I suppose it’s like that for most people.
So, I showed up for a Friday Men’s clinic offered by Alex at Superstition Springs Golf Club; $ 15 for the hour seemed like a pretty reasonable deal. When I arrived I didn’t see him at the south end of the driving range at the scheduled time so I asked the staff where to go. They all just said to wait for him there. After 10 minutes or so, I went to the front desk and they mentioned he was at the north end of the range instructing. so one of the staff gave me a ride over there in a cart.
Alex caught me up to speed quickly and was able to identify a few bad habits I had developed that were causing major problems with my swing. I was amazed that in under 10 minutes, I was hitting the ball better than I ever have.
Alex spent time with me one on one, as well as with the group, to be sure I was following the lesson correctly. Sometimes it’s the little things that can make a big difference. He was patient and full of great little tricks to get me to hit the ball correctly.
I’m usually topping the ball or digging holes for the groundskeeper… but you know that sweet spot when you hit the ball just right and it goes sailing down the driving range… and it seem effortless? I had a few of those moments for the first time during the hour long lesson. That feeling makes me want to take up the game! :)
Alex is very patient and clearly knowledgeable. He is a PGA Class A golf pro and it shows in his competence and confidence. One of the cool features he offers is a video of your swing so you can see exactly where you’re going wrong. I’d highly recommend Alex if you’re looking to improve your game or are just getting into golfing.
