I have been seeing Dr. Allen for nearly a year. After an amazing referral to him I thought he could help me with my thyroid issues. Dr. Allen ran blood work and looked past the numbers to see the problem. Initially, I found him to be very helpful, a little eccentric, but felt listened to. That was only the first visit, each visit afterwards was a waste of time. Dr. Allen was often late to appointments(chatting with his office staff in the hallway about weekend plans before seeing me — I am talking over an hour late when I was his first appointment after lunch) he doesn’t remember who I am(started speaking to me thinking I was a different patient because he pulled up the wrong record) he doesn’t put notes into the computer, so the already flustered/disorganized office staff don’t know what is going on.(The office staff is unprofessional, rude, and never seems to know what’s going on). I know four other individuals who have seen Dr. Allen. Each have told me their experience is similar to mine — lab work, put on nature throid, vitamin D, progesterone, and testosterone with the promise of greatness. I would have to call in to get my blood work results only to have the office recommend an appointment(told I couldn’t get an rx refill without seeing the dr and blood work).(They didn’t call me– I had to call them) don’t bother with your Rx. Refill, that is an absolute nightmare. The office staff will say they sent your refill to the pharmacy, but they won’t. They will bump your appointment to see someone else. In short, it’s a pharmacy mill. You will be put on the same wonder meds and have awful staff experience. Look elsewhere!

Been here one time so far. My insurance changed, so did my primary care doc. This is the one I picked. I saw the PA on my first visit, which was primarily my chance to check them out. The waiting room is large. I was taken back 30 minutes late but I arrived 20 minutes before they opened. The office is very busy. I doubt I’ve ever seen so many people waiting to be seen as I did that morning at opening time. I think most of them were waiting for simple blood draw procedures, not seeing the PA. The paperwork was handled quickly and correctly. They do check the state controlled substance database to see if you are a career narc or benzo user. All insurance is verified online when you check-in. Scripts are faxed to your choice of pharmacy or you can get a paper copy. All in all, I had a got a decent impression on my first appointment. If you do not wish to see a PA instead of the doctor whose name is on the sign you need to specify that when you make your appointment. And like most medical offices, they believe you are not responsible enough to show up on time for your appointment so they will call you one business day before to ‘remind’ you. Although I’m not totally sure, I think they accept a certain amount of walk-in traffic like an urgent care. Ask at the front desk when you arrive. I heard people being told it would be a two hour wait to be seen without an appointment. Their office is now located at: 7233 E Baseline Rd, Suite 126, Mesa, AZ85209
