Big Lots

Normally I like shopping here but, today was my last visit. I rode my bike up here to take advantage of the beautiful day. When I got there, I did not notice any bike racks at all to lock my bike up so I brought my bike into the store with me as I only needed 1 item so I knew I could be in and out very quickly. I was moving thru the store very carefully and being sure not to get into any other customers way when the store manager, a very short, bald man approached me and very rudely told me to get my bike out of the store. I explained that I was unable to find a bike rack and that I had my 1 item and would be on my way. Other customers near me, overhearing our conversation commented to this manager that I was not in the way, nor was my bike taking up any more room than a shopping cart. One customer told him to stop being a dick. He was not giving in, told me I needed to leave with my bike at once. He also stated there are bars on the building for bikes. So, my feelings are this: rather than harass and yell at a customer, why couldn’t he have politely shown me where I could have locked my bike? Obviously I missed this area. Once I got back outside I still had a hard time finding the bars for bikes. They are painted dark brown, the same color as the building and are ankle level. Seriously? This manager could have handled this situation so much better but instead lost a good customer and made a bad scene in front of other customers that seriously thought he was overreacting. I truly believe there is no such thing as good customer service anymore. It’s all a power struggle. I truly get store policy, but this guy could have politely shown me where to lock up my bike. If it were me, I would have offered to watch the bike for my customer, because as I stated, I only needed ONE QUICK ITEM!!!

I like the variety of items. The food section has a lot of weirdo food items i like to come across.
My biggest gripe is there is always a line, a real slow line. Might just be me, but on 2 occasions i put my items down and left.

Buy cheap things here! Seriously though despite being in Mesa (I kid, I kid) this location is pretty good.

This my first choice when it comes to the TONS of Big Lots in the area. Not the most organized or cleanest location but a far better food and drink selection. Rarely is it ever sold out of my favorites. I personally love Thomas Kemper soda which run around $ 5.00 or more for a 4 pack and Safeway. You can get them at this location for $ 2.99 a 6 pack. Better cereal selection with normal brands — not the Low Carb Count Chocula that didn’t make the cut last year.
