JesterZ Improv Comedy

This is a great, family-​friendly-​without-​being-​lame-​or-​childish venue, filled with talented improv artists meeting that same dash-​filled description. Well lit, well run, and the right mix of personal and professional, with a great audience participation element.
However, it does get super quiet in there, and if you happen to privately meow to your wife, the entire audience and performers may hear it and wonder what the heck just happened. Not that I know from experience or anything. #thatwouldbeweird #Iamnotweird

Let me start off by saying that making me laugh requires an abnormally high amount of effort. I wish laughter came easily for me because I WANT to laugh when I’m not busy watching Star Trek or programming this generation’s next ridiculous app. Alas, this review is not about me. This review is about the surprisingly amazing place that is JesterZ.
JesterZ, you caught me off guard. I came in with my cold and lifeless sense of humor and walked out with the feeling that I put in time at the gym. My. Abdominal. Muscles. Hurt. So. Good.
I want to believe that I was right in being a skeptic of this place l, but I was very wrong. Most notable thing about this place was that the cast had amazing chemistry with each other. Each person performing had a different style of performing, which was surely to appeal to the different sense of humour in the crowd. The way they played off of each other’s styles made the act of performing improv look simply effortless.
As the engaging host took the audience through many different improv games, we were all left with memorable moments of hilarity and opportune participation. This isn’t a show where you just sit and listen, you are able to contribute to the scene, which makes it even more impressive. 90 minutes of performing and they never lost their energy or appeal. I only wish that during those 90 minutes I was able to get an intermission so I could get MYSELF together!
As for the facility, the décor is nice, clean and fits the theme well. They have drinks and snacks and a great little area where you can take photos with your family or friends.
I have written reviews on Unilocal sparingly, most normally when I experience something so utterly life changing that I feel the need to share my experience. Please, if you’re on the fence about seeing a show here just TRY IT! I found the show to be intelligent, honest, hilarious and very gratifying. Congratulations JesterZ, you have a forever fan.

Show up early (not too early) to add phrases and sayings to the hat and bring your smart phone to win prizes!!! Free admission close to your birthday!
Lots of parking and light snacks at the snack bar. (No alcohol or drink minimums.)
Set your expectations. Every performance is unique, and not all cast members atre created (or as creative) equal. Chairs are comfortable enough to make you want to leave when the 90 minutes are up.
The emcee did keep things running, but didn’t seem to always be present with what was going on and sometimes either cut the scene off to soon or was not really ready for the next skit.

The new location in Mesa is great! There is a waiting area now INSIDE, a photo «booth» stage with props and some fun interior to set the mood for fun & laughs! Such a huge improvement from their old location! We’ve enjoyed attending before & brought friends this time! Looking forward to fun!

Best Shows and always fun for any age. Thank you for the laughs and you are gonna laugh, Oh you will laugh. Try and sit there with a frown! This place is awesome! It is very family-​friendly and the cast is incredible! I can’t believe how fast these people can think on the fly and how funny they can be! It’s very interactive with the audience and very entertaining! I will definitely be back!

Small, intimate venue, with plenty of parking. Staff is friendly, the environment is positively chraged, this has been a great experience, one we will do again with the kids.

Can’t wait to go back again! Considered just staying to watch the 9 o’clock show tonight as well. Clean improv, family friendly, and amazing talent!

Fun, family-​friendly comedy club!

I have to say this has always been one of my favorite go-​to entertainment places. I remember my first JesterZ show back at the old Scottsdale location waaay back when I was around 11 years old. Holy cow. I’m old. Anyways, I honestly wish I could go every weekend because the material is always new and fun, and you just can’t get that for $ 13 anywhere! The actors are so diverse in both character and skill that it makes the show something very unique; PLUS they get a to of input from the audience, really involving you in your entertainment. Another positive is that this is an all-​age appropriate venue and they really do their best to keep their jokes/​acts on everyone’s level. They make sure the show is family-​friendly and take into consideration the fact that not everyone likes crude humor. I would recommend this for date night, family night, and even would go alone if I couldn’t drag my boyfriend. Give it a go, you’ll have an awesome time!

Laughed my head off! Very clean comedy! Very skilled comedians! They improvised 3 of the funniest songs I have ever heard, and great voices to go along with it. Can’t wait to go back!

A diamond in the rough…
After missing a movie Saturday night we were looking for something to do at Mesa Riverview and walked past this place (twice). It wasn’t clear if this would be the best improv place and my husband was skeptical but the price of $ 13 was right. I dragged my husband in kicking and screaming and we sat in the back. With his arms tightly crossed with disapproval some of the skits started to make him laugh. By the end of the night he was laughing so hard he was in tears and even took time to thank the management for an unexpected great time. He wants to bring people back here!
5 stars… husband approved, right price, clean good comedic fun, & we got FREE PIE from PieFection because it was 3.14 201 592 653!!!

Tons of fun for either date night or a family night out. We LOVE JesterZ. Guarenteed to laugh when you’re there.

Awesome! Super funny and creative. Also clean humor so kids can come. They had our dance studio come perform for them. Super professional and organized. You’ll love it.

They put on a great show. I’ve seen them three or four times and it is different each time. Teens and younger children love it as much as the adults. Truly an all ages event. I can’t recommend this enough.

Such a great night tonight! Their new location is great! I highly recommend this for an affordable Saturday night!

We have enjoyed Jester’z for years and we absolutely love their new location. Very few places are safe to take your whole family (including kids) and not have to censor what is going on but Jester’z is truly family friendly clean entertainment.
