Had a great meal. Our waitress, Reyna, was great. She was friendly and service was quick. My husband had a very good lasagna and I had super good chicken wings. Always good food here.

They have the best cod loins, clam chowder, boasted chicken around. Other things I have tried are okay– onion rings, steak fries, Cole slaw. I have not tried the hamburgers yet but they look good.

I’m very disappointed. You advertised that you serve Pig roast and you really do not. I went on 2 Saturdays each time you said no, «only on certain Saturdays». I even called your restaurant a few days ahead this week and I was told yes. When we got there, waitress said no. In your ad you should mention which Saturday is pig roast available. How can you be our favorite restaurant when you don’t serve?

We’ve had two great food experiences at this restaurant within the last year. Highly recommend the burgers and I’ve heard great things about the pig roast option! Busy but good sports bar feeling.

Food: This is a two part review covering two visits. My daughter recently moved way out East Mesa so JJ’s was my «local bar» recommendation having been there several times in the past. So a few weeks ago we needed a break from box unpacking and drove down to eat. We sat at the bar, the place was very full. Ordered a couple of cold beers and decided on food. Jen had the all you can eat cod special(8.99 $ or so) and I had a the all you can eat roasted, smoked pig. It was in fact a full pig the chef had smoked out back then brought into the restaurant(still on the now cool smoker) He had shredded the meat into mouthwatering delicious pork. He makes all the sides home made(some from his mom’s recipes he tells me) Cheesy, creamy scalloped potatoes, cole slaw, yummy baked beans, homemade sauce, potato salad. I am pretty sure the feast was a measly 10.99 $ for a really outstanding plate of food. Its buffet style and he doesn’t scrimp on portions of meat. If you want to try a really awesome meal, come super hungry and enjoy! Cod was also delicious too. Then today, a few weeks later, we went back again. This time sitting at one of the tables. I am happy to report they have brand spanking new menus with a really wide variety of offerings. one section has burgers — 21 of them. I had the # 20 — double ¼ inch patties with double cheese and fries. The other order was # 20, again double ¼ inch patties, hers with pepper jack cheese and green chilis. Both burgers were mouth watering great. Cooked perfectly too. Ambiance: This is a casual sports bar/restaurant. Way more than a bar but with a bar feel. They have — if I counted correctly 32 flat screen TV’s.(no blaring thank goodness) They have every sport imaginable on TV as well as offering off track betting. They also offer free wireless game consoles to guests so you can play trivia games again the others using the devices or play poker or an individual game. Very modern and fun. We had them and played trivia against each other while we ate. A nice extra touch. Service: I can’t say it was great. A little slow getting to us initially and brining our check however the waitress did stop by twice to refill our pepsi’s and check on our food. Plates were cleared away promptly as well. This isn’t five star service but it wasn’t expected. Overall, if you live in Mesa, JJ’s is a great place to stop for a cold one, eat some complimentary peanuts, catch a game or just relax with friends(nice outdoor patio as well) The food is far superior to similar places and outranks the likes of Applebees type restaurants by a mile. We will be there again soon.

The times my wife and I have been here were fun. The food is ok. Truth is, you come here for the cold giant beers and football.

We live very close to this restaurant and this was our 3rd or 4th trip in the first time the food was great and the rest of the times it was just ok. My boy friend wanted fish and chips so we decided to try one more time — uugghhh !!! it was one of the most disappointing meals I have ever had. Crappy service, waitress was very short and cold — tried to warm up to her and make small talk didn’t really seem to help much. Another waitress brought out our food, but we never got our appetizer and had to ask for the soup to be brought out and for silverware. The food was barely luke warm and my burger and bacon tasted like fish– I DONTLIKEFISH!!! Tried to finish my food so as not to waste the money but finally we gave up and went to another restaurant.

Not good at all. Service was very slow and food was barely edible. Only 2 waitresses in the place. Waited for menus, waited to place our order, waited to get served(almost 40 minutes), waited to get the bill. Finally gave up and left cash on the table and walked out. Wish we had walked out before we ever ordered. We wouldn’t go back if the food was free.

Good is delicious and super reasonable on prices! It’s a sports bar, the booths are comfortable. I think at one point smoking used to be allowed in there so there is that faint smell of cigar smoke but it’s not really strong. Once you taste the food you forget all about it! The staff is sweet and courteous. Sometimes can be a little slow but again after you taste the food you forget about it! Love this place!

Good dive bar. I am always the youngest person there by a few decades, but that’s ok, folks are friendly. Good, free poker night on Sunday. Beer is cold, wings are big and tasty. Pizza was undercooked, but there’s really no such thing as bad pizza so I ate it anyway. Burgers are huge! Able to get a good table for football games, not really crowded.

This is a good neighborhood place to grab a few brews and some grub. Don’t expect gourmet food(not sure why anyone would at a sports bar) but the food is definitely tasty and given in large portions. For the best service sit at the bar, the servers can be a little slow sometimes but the bartenders are on point. They have off-track betting here also, as well as pool tables and lots of TVs with any sports game you could want to watch. Usually they have live music a couple nights a week also, and a decent patio.

No. Just no. Officially boycotting this place out of respect for myself. Met up my man and his sister right after I got off work for a drink. I was really looking forward to a beer after a stressful day, didn’t care where I got my drink… Just wanted to relax and ask my husband how his day was. Not one bartender or server who passed by picking up empty glasses from other patrons even looked at me. For 20 minutes. I know it was 20 minutes because I watched my clock, expecting slow service, but didn’t assume I’d get none whatsoever. The bartenders are clearly not trained or simply don’t care about customers that aren’t their regulars even though the bar wasn’t even half full. Maybe with some training or some new employees they would have noticed that I had been staring at them walk by, desperate for acknowledgement. I’m sorry, but I’m just not the type of customer who says«excuse me, can I get some service please?» I don’t like sending food back and I don’t like tipping when a bad waitress less than 15%. It makes me uncomfortable. To the manager of Jj Madison’s: your front of house ESPECIALLY your bartenders are losing you business because at this point I will deter anyone who says they’re going to this place by begging them to go literally anywhere else thanks to how they have not once, not twice, but 3 times ignored their local clientele.

The food is okay but over-priced. I was astonished to pay 9 dollars for an appetizer that literally had only 4 bites of food. My salad was something I could have had for less somewhere else.

Big fun, don’t get me started. Enjoy the live music. Sit at the bar or in the music room. Outdoors is also a great option.

Food is good and service is ok on weekends. But during the week, service is horrible! Bartenders and bar servers don’t communicate and the customer ends up thirsty. Not just 1 time but time and time again. And they act let they don’t care.

I live near this place but had never visited. One night my son and I decided to try it. We were very pleased. They have awesome burgers and a large selection of draft beer. The menu is extensive. TV’s are everywhere so it’s fabulous for Sunday football. The service is friendly and competent.

This place has the most unbelievable meatloaf. I found this the other day tucked away. The staff are friendly the owner is gregarious and the food and menu are absolutely superb. Remember, this is a sports bar not a place for intimate dining. There are TVs all over the place to watch every imaginable sport. I give it an A plus.
