Earlier today I was able to attend my second Holiday Service of Remembrance at the Lakeshore Mortuary. It has become a tradition for me and my grandmother as we honor my grandfather’s memory. The service is very sweet and only about an hour long. Each year they have a Reverend or Priest (not really sure what the difference is between those titles… if there even is one) say some remarks about this time of the season and losing a loved one and they always have musical numbers from local organizations. This year the Marcos de Niza Chamber Singers from Marcos de Niza High School performed.
Lakeshore has a luncheon following the service and the food is basic luncheon food, but we have been impressed both times. I think this is a special way to remember those who have passed away and I am really thankful Lakeshore is willing and able to provide this kind of service to people like my grandmother.
