We’re new to the world of boat ownership. We bought an old model with«good bones» and expected to took it to Loyd’s for the once over eval and fix. We had two referrals send us there because i was told they«take their time with you» … sure enough. Loyd’s has been a blessing for me and our family fixing old girl. They did a TON of work on our boat and took the time to walk us through the«do’s and dont’s and what if’s» that no other boat mechanic i know would do. We had a hiccup with the gear box this weekend, took it back in and these guys turned it around in a matter of hours and barely charged us a dime! I want to HUG them. Thank you Loyd’s, We’ll continue to go back and will send our friends there.

His advice was! — Never come back to my shop! That’s right, I bought a $ 6 dollar O-ring and tried to use a debit card and the owner, Vincent Melcher, told me I need to pay with cash for anything under 10 dollars, I told him I didn’t have any, he told me «I better go get some because that’s the way it works at Loyds Marine!» I was stunned, especially after I had spent upward of $ 800 on parts at this shop over the past several months on a boat I bought at the beginning of the summer. So, I went to the bank and came back with cash. After I bought the part he said, «let me give you some advice — Don’t ever come back to this shop». This is a disgusting, horrible man and his shop is weak at best. After just the first time I visited this shop I had a bad taste in my moth about this guy with his arrogance and hostility. He is a money grubbing arrogant little worm. As I continued to visit his shop(because it is the closest one to my house) I found myself really put off by him and basically held my nose when I went in, so to speak. From what I heard through the grapevine is this guy is a spoiled little punk who could never make it on his own so eventually his wealthy parents bought him this boat shop. After dealing with him on probably 10 occasions, it’s obvious he’s an angry little man-child. He’s a spoiled little punk who wants everything his way and if not he lashes out and tells you to get out of his shop! Thank god I never had any service work done there. I’ve either talked to or dealt with nearly every marine shop in the east valley and not one of them will tell you anything good about this guy or his shop. STAYAWAY! Oh, btw — When I was walking out of his store I said to him, obviously, everything I had read about him online was true. He threw his hands up in a fit and screamed, «OH, THAT F#$KINGONLINE S%#T DON’T MEANNOTHING…
