Couldn’t say enough good things about this place, The owner, Ray, is a great guy that provides honest service to all his customers. I’ve been a customer for over 6 years and can’t say enough good things about both the shop itself and the people who work there. Very experienced and willing to answer any questions you may have. They have a large selection of bikes and accessories and are always willing to go that extra mile and order in something if it’s not in stock!

I first called this place and asked for pricing on a front wheel on a Schwinn and was told $ 50 bucks. I said ok. I go to the store and walk my bike in and am greeted by a tattooed up guy that was arrogant. I told him my bike was damaged and needed a new front wheel and the rear wheel needed to be «trued». He tells me it’s, $ 55 for the front wheel not the $ 50 I was quoted on the phone. Then I wanted him to look over the bike to see if there were any other issues so I would know. I had to insist as he didn’t seem to really want to do it. He looked it over and said, yeah, $ 55 for the front wheel, $ 10 to true the rear, plus tax. I said, cool do it. That was on a Friday and he said he would have the wheel in on Monday and have it fixed no later than Tuesday and he would call me on Tuesday when it was done. Tuesday comes and no call, Wednesday comes and no call, thurs and no call, so I called them and asked. He said, «oh, I’m still waiting on the rim». Then I get a call late Thursday saying the bike is done… Whatever. So, I go to the shop and the guy tells me it’s $ 87 instead of $ 65-$ 70 quoted. He claimed, oh, well we got you a better rim(which I never asked for) and, oh, the rear rim needed more«truing» than I thought” even though I made him look at the bike to begin with so he would know what the problems were. Then, I bring the bike home and after being over charged the bars are miss-aligned from the front wheel. I mean this shop did the absolute minimum and charged me more for it. That is horrible customer service. It stinks of greed and only wanting your money. I realize this is a fairly insignificant amount of money but I don’t being gouged by disingenuous people! It was an unfriendly bad vibe environment in this store and I was outright overcharged. STAYAWAY! I WOULDNOTRECOMEND!

Ray and the team are knowledgeable and helpful. Their service is on-time and dependable. When it comes to a custom fit or just deciding on components, their advice and expertise is superior. I will buy more bikes there in the future.

Walked in to inquire about getting a bike repaired. There was no one at the counter but there was a bike tech working on a bike in the repair area which is also right next to the retail counter. No welcome or greeting upon entering. Figured I would see how long it would take to get some service and a greeting. Stood in the very small shop looking at different bikes for 5 minutes. Never bothered saying a word. I figured, Ok screw it, I’m out. Turned to leave and go to another bike store when someone else walked in. He asked if I had been helped. I said no, I had not and he asked what I needed. I walked with him out to my truck to show him the bike I wanted repaired. He happened to be the owner. I told him I stood in his shop and was ignored until he walked in. His response«They are not supposed to do that.» I informed him that they indeed did do that and as a business owner, if I treated my potential customers the same, I would probably soon be out of business. He never apologized for the experience, never introduced himself by name or told me he was the owner. I had to ask him if he was the owner. Did not feel much of a concern. Had he said to me «Wow, I apologize for your being ignored when you entered my business. My name is —— and I am the owner and I want to address this right now with the employee and make sure you have a great experience in my store» I would have had a different take. Didn’t feel the love as they say, so I voted with my dollars and went elsewhere.

Great bike shop. Been there many times and always leave happy. They’ve also helped our scout troop with our yearly bicycle outing. Favorite bike shop.

I recently purchased a bike from Paragon after looking at a number of bike shops. The pricing was reasonable, the staff friendly, and the service was great. The bike even came in ahead of when they thought. Paragon is a nice neighborhood bike shop that I would recommend to everyone. Thanks for the great service!

This is my LBS and the owner is always helpful when I come in with technical questions or recommendations and usually have what I am looking for when in need for some parts.

I’ve had work done by the guys at Paragon on two separate occasions. The first being this instance where I wanted to have a freehub from an older 10-speed road bike replaced with a newer 7-speed freehub; I left my number and bicycle with them, and the next day I received a phone call saying they didn’t have the tool for the older freewheel(The freewheel in question turned out to be a very, very old Shimano unit that Park Tool doesn’t even manufacture a tool for), and gave me some options; I suggested using a spare, somewhat haggard wheel I happened to have on me, dropped it off, and the next day, I had a running 14-speed bike. The wheel was completely in true, and dished to accommodate the 7-speed freehub. The second time was a bit more interesting. As I’m all over the valley, I had a modern bottom bracket installed on my bicycle at another shop, and put some new cranks on it. On it’s maiden ride with a new bottom bracket and crankset, the non-drive crank arm fell off. Being in Mesa at the time, I walked the bike over to Paragon(much to the dismay of my friends who I was riding with), Ray looked at it and immediately knew what was wrong and threw the bike on the repair stand and fixed the problem: the other shop put some spacers onto the bottom bracket in a fashion intended for mountain bikes, even though it was a road bike. He removed the offending spacers, installed the crank, and we were off. Even in very usual or exigent circumstances, the guys at Paragon have done nothing but splendid work for me, and their work costs always end up being cheaper than their initial quotes. Plus they carry Shot Bloks. Mmmmm… Tropical Punch.

Even as bike shops go, this place is terrible. I wanted to fix an old bike for my girlfriend. They said they could turn it around in one week… one week became two and a half weeks. Didn’t bother contacting me. When I got the bike back, it was still dirty, they failed to replace the breaks, cables, and cable housings. Shotty work, when I tested the breaks and the gears, they lost all tension because screws were not tightened. I thought I could take the easy route and not rebuild the bike myself. now I’m out money and I have a bigger project than before. Thanks Paragon!
