Red Mountain Midwifery

Midwife Jen has attended the home births of both of my children. From prenatal visits to the births to postpartum care, the level of care you will get from the midwives of Red Mountain Midwifery is amazing and they are both warm and professional. I can’t imagine having babies with any other care providers.
Instead of those dreaded doctor appointments, prenatal visits in Jen’s cozy office were something my family looked forward to. The environment is very family-​friendly. My toddler would happily play at our feet while we discussed how my pregnancy was progressing and checked on mama and baby’s health. Instead of feeling rushed and clinical, prenatals are fun, informative, and a little like chatting with an old, very-​knowledgable friend.
During my home birth, it was easy to feel relaxed, confident, and safe and focus on what I needed to do to birth my babies, because I knew I was in Jen’s capable, watchful hands. It was a joyful experience and I felt my wishes and needs were respected and valued at every step of the process.
Postpartum care in the initial days after the birth consisted of a couple of visits to my home check on us in the days following the birth. What a relief to not have to leave my cozy nest with a brand new baby! At one week, three weeks, and six weeks, we met in the RMM office for follow ups. I struggled with postpartum depression and some breastfeeding/​tongue-​tie issues after my second child and Jen’s unwavering support and helpful suggestions during the early postpartum period helped smooth out what was a pretty bumpy patch for us. Nine months later we are still successfully breastfeeding and my little one has the most deliciously chubby cheeks!
I really can’t say enough good things about Red Mountain Midwifery. Any future babies we have will be RMM babies, too.
