I went to the Sugar Shack for lunch, not for sugar, so I didn’t try any of their desserts or ice cream. I used a LivingSocial coupon for a sandwich, side, and drink. For the price, it wasn’t bad. I think I paid $ 5 using the coupon, but it’s usually only a buck or so more. The lunch combo included your choice of sandwich, side, and a drink. I opted for roast beef on wheat. The sandwich was perfectly fine. Everything tasted fresh, but it was nothing to really write home about. The bread, meat, veggies, cheese, and condiments were all standard fare(though all very fresh — they didn’t taste like they’d been sitting around too long). The lettuce, strangely, was surprisingly crisp and sweet. Strange, yeah, I know, but it was damn good lettuce(I’m not being sarcastic there). Anyway, as a whole, the sandwich was like something one would make at home after hitting up the produce section and deli at your supermarket. Pretty standard, tasty, but nothing super unique. Picture an Arby’s Market Fresh sandwich if you’ve ever had one — it’s kinda like that, except with crisper veggies and better meat. The side was a bag of chips. They were kettle chips, but just the same you find at any other shop. The service was a bit slow. It took about ten minutes, and I was the only chap there. In sum, if you’re in the area it wouldn’t hurt to stop by if you’re hungry and want something simple. The food was good, but standard. I wouldn’t make a destination out of it, though.
