Dependable Auto Shippers

I have used them three times (2006, 2014 and now June 2016.
The first was from the South the the West coast. They were fine.
The 2^nd was from Indiana to the West coast… A little slower and i had to prod them for updates.
The last one (June 2016) was AWFUL. I had the car dropped off in Torrance CA on 6÷2÷16 to be delivered to the Bay Area (5 hour drive). 17 days later (after daily phone calls and emails) i finally get an email saying the car has been picked up, but they refused to respond to any of my inquiries. It is in transit now, but I have no idea when will arrive or if it will arrive. Nearly 3 weeks for a 5 hour drive is bad, but the worse part is ZERO communications from the company.
The phone based update services is useless as it just tells you if is «On-​Time» or «Late» My car was «on-​time» until the day it was due to be delivered (⁶⁄₁₃) and then the system said it was «late» but provided no update/​insight and again I got NO RESPONSES to my emails and phone calls. Terrible — would never use them again.

After a terrible experience with another shipper, I tried DAS and it was smooth and easy. Car got there in one piece, no issues, no damage. Very quick shipping, too. Managed the entire exchange via email, which was convenient. Bernie Torres did a good job, and it was just a relief to have the car after the bad experience with another shipper. DAS #46 543 824

I recommend Bernie Torres and DAS #46 478 634 for shipping your vehicle across country. My car was picked up and delivered at the scheduled times. The vehicle arrived with no issues. I made calls to DAS during the journey and got status of the vehicle and where it was in the journey. All in all, a headache free transaction.

Bernie was very dependable and responsive in our auto relocation. He really came through for us!
I would definitely recommend DAS to anyone who asks me about auto relocation.

We had a great experience shipping our Honda CRV from northern California to NYC. Starting with a friendly and clear explanation from Bernie Torres (DAS #46 504 910) about the process, and then when we compared their prices to other services, we couldn’t have asked for a smoother experience. Car arrived exactly when they said it would and without (a new) scratch. Highly recommended, and ask for Bernie as he was very helpful!

We have used DAS to ship a few of our cars from mostly the midwest to the west coast. They have the advantage of using ports to decrease the cost so you drop off the car at one of their designated ports in that city and pickup from their port here. This is more cost effective than going door to door. Typically transits take 20 – 25 days so plan your time accordingly. Since we are not in a rush and flexible on schedule this works out well for us.
We’ve shipped everything from an SUV to a convertible and even some exotics. Just keep in mind they do have limits on how low the car can be, if my memory serves me right it’s 4″ ground clearance at the lowest point.
We call /​email Bernie Torres and he gets us the quote and makes it happen. Pretty smooth process and we’ve had no issues with them. Great job and good service. DAS #xxxx5618

I highly recommend this company to anyone shipping vehicles across the south. Not only did the rep respond promptly and courteously, but the vehicle was picked up on time and delivered ahead of schedule. The driver was very professional and the entire experience leads me to refer others to DAS.

I have used these auto shippers, numerous times, at least 6 times. Not sure why I keep going back, I guess it is habit. But they are awful and I won’t go back anymore now.
I had one car that one of their drivers bashed into a brick wall, so after receiving the car it has to go straight to the auto body shop. They paid, but… I think we’d all rather not have our cars bashed.
In general they are not friendly on the phone, and do not spend any time with you, and do all they can to rush you off the phone.
The latest debacle is that a car was supposed to be delivered in 2 weeks, and after being a week late, I found out the DAS driver had a breakdown and since the truck was going to be out of service for so long, they farmed out the job to another trucking company, to get it to me as quickly as they could. I guess it was nice of them to try and hustle the car to me, but they neglected to ask my input which is not professional. The trucker that ultimately delivered my car had scratched up the driver side wheels which I missed upon delivery because the car was incredibly dirty and hid the wheel gouges, and the driver rushed me when I was taking delivery. So I’ll be repairing them on my dime, DAS will never own responsibility after I accepted the vehicle. And this is an expensive car, with expensive wheels, that will be incredibly costly to repair. The best part was when the driver told me there was a $ 550 COD due him. I explained that I had paid the whole amount to DAS already, but he would not give me the car without payment. It was a stick up job! So I paid by check, and then put a Stop Order on the check the next day. But to have to do this, and having to coordinate why the crooked driver was trying to rip me off with DAS, was time I did not have, and an experience I should not have had to go through.
DAS is to be avoided AT ALL COSTS.

They are ONLY good about taking your order and charging your credit card. Now that my car is 7 days beyond the ETA they won’t take my call. Bernie uses called ID and sends my call to voice mail. I had to use caller blocking just to get him to answer. He’s no different than the others. No one will return my call. Tomorrow I will go file a stolen vehicle report with the police and get my insurance company involved. Horrible company to deal with if things don’t go smoothly.

This company was easily one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. Extremely unorganized, uncommunicative, and careless of the inconvenience they cause their customers when delivering their car way past the estimated window. My boyfriend and I moved across the country and were without our cars even when we had to start our new jobs. When asking the company why it took so long, they were unapologetic and basically said shit happens. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone making an already stressful move.

This company has missed deadlines, consistently misrepresented the facts, has a terrible phone interface, and is just an undependable provider of services. I would avoid using these folks at all opportunities

Hopefully most people realize that the only reviews people typically make is if they did an outstanding job or if they did a horrible job. I had a very positive experience with DAS shipping a car from San Francisco to Denver. I wasn’t on a strict timeline so I was okay with them taking their time getting it to me.
It helps if you know the process — they pick up your car and bring it to a shipping yard where it will sit until there are other cars going to your area. This is how you get a cheaper cost — they aren’t going to drive your car only, it just makes sense to have more cars on the truck. So, it could take a couple days, it could take 2 weeks (Mine sat in SF for 2 weeks). Once the car arrives in your state/​area, it will again go to another yard. A tow company brought my car from the yard to my house. By the time my car was picked up in SF, it arrived 2 days later in Denver.
No problems, no damage… I had a great experience. I called frequently and they took every call and were very up front with me. If you’re having your car transported and you want a good deal — DAS is the place. Just be aware of the process and educate yourself.
I would use them again in a heartbeat.

EVEN MORE NEGATIVE STARS. My car was finally shipped with an Estimated Time of Arrival of ⁵⁄₁₇. One day before the ETA, I called to make sure that was still true, considering how unreliable they are. Not to my surprise, the ETA was pushed back 1 day to ⁵⁄₁₈. Fine, whatever, at time point I’m just happy that it is at least in transit. Today, 5/​18, I call again and AGAIN THEY SAY THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO DELIVER THE CAR, although it has arrived in Georgia. I am just over their failure so decide to pick the car up myself from their lot. I will get a refund for not having it delivered to my door, so whatever, I don’t care. I want my car. I get to the lot, and they have damaged my car. The bumper is sticking out with a few scratches and a chip, and the driver’s side of the door has more chipped paint. I don’t understand how they can still be in business after such an incredibly crappy job. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

Easy, simple, no problems. I shipped my car from The Bay Area (California) clear across the country to New Jersey and everything went smoothly. (And I was pretty stressed out about the move, believe me.)
Bernie Torres was the agent who guided me through the process. I opted for the cheapest way possible: rather than have them pick up and drop off, I brought my car to one of their shipping facilities in The Bay Area and picked it up from a similar location in NJ. Honestly, if you’ve got the time and a friend to give you a ride, it makes a lot of sense.
I sure as hell hope I don’t have to move again any time soon, but if I ever did need to ship a car, I’d definitely call these guys.

They were very communicative and my car got there earlier than expected. They were professional and less cheesy than the rest of the auto shippers i looked into. They even had a drop point where i could take the car to be shipped and that saved me a bit of money. They were less expensive overall for the same service.
The true test of these shippers is to see if how they handle a situation when something goes wrong, and nothing did on my move. This seems to be a shady business and the shippers are all undercutting each other and things go wrong and they don’t want to accept responsibility. My suggestion would be to ask up front what the policy is for damage — however minor.

In preparing for my move my sister recommended DAS as an alternative to driving multiple vehicles across the country. I’m so glad that I took her advice! I chose to save a little money with the terminal to terminal option. Door to door service is also available. My vehicle arrived much earlier than the estimated delivery window. If I could do less stars I would. My car was shipped to Washington from Nevada through my husbands company. They damaged the back bumper and it has been over 8 months with still to claim check from them. I have emailed every few weeks since August 2015 and they tell me «management is reviewing it». I will continue to bug them until they pay for the damaged they caused to my vehicle.
I hate to give bad reviews to company’s and try to only review the good but this has been so frustrating.

The shipment of our car went extremely smoothly. We delivered the car to the origin location, and they were very helpful and efficient. Stephen Linders, our DAS contact/​coordinator, was very easy to work with, very pleasant and helpful, and everything went according to plan. The car arrived at the destination as we delivered it.

Do NOT work with DAS!!!
I dropped my car off with DAS on 12/​18/​2016. They did not deliver it until 1÷15÷2016 despite providing me with an original expectation of a 10 day shipment. The car arrived damaged, and the damage was not proactively identified to me. Part of the damage was a cracked windshield which was fairly obvious. I went through their claims process and was approved for a reimbursement of $ 1200 on 1÷25÷2016.
It is now 3÷25÷2016 and I have still not been reimbursed. I have sent numerous emails and VMs and the latest response I received was that I should be paid «soon» as of 3÷10÷2016. Hope this is resolved soon but I already wish I could provide less than 1 star for this review.

Un-​Dependable Auto Shippers!
One of the worst experiences I have ever had. How can this company be allowed to operate! I am disgusted at their customer service or lack of it. No words can describe how bad this company is. They were even recommended to me by a corporate relocation company. Thank the lord the only saving grace is that I am so thankful that our car was not damaged in the process. After reading all the nightmare reviews I am happy to get our car intact.
Our vehicle was picked up Nov 2 in NJ and delivered to us in Chicago on ¹¹⁄₂₄ all for the BARGAIN price of $ 778 what a complete RIPOFF! Our car stayed in NJ until Nov 22 and customer service was dire. Rude people and absolute disregard for the customer, I am totally shocked why an agency has not come down hard on this dishonest company. They should be blacklisted and boycotted.
I had spent dozens and dozens of phone calls wasting my time trying to get answers and all I got was unsympmathetic «We know how you feel» phoney responses. You get passed around from one person to another like a hot potato, never getting the answers you need. I tried to speak to my original saleperson who never returned a phone call once they had my order. Their phone system of entering your order number for an update is a complete joke and then when you want to speak with someone you get the brush off.
The Linden, NJ terminal is USELESS as was the dispatcher who never returned her calls or even dispatched our car. Communication was abysmal at best! There are no adjectives strong enough to describe this dreadful excuse for an auto transport company.
Please listen to the reviews and stay far away from them. I wish I would have read up on this company as I would NEVER have given them my hard earned money to give me the complete runaround for 3 weeks. I could go on and on describing how awful my experience was. Their business practice should be deemed unethical.
