If I could rate lower I could. I just walked out of the havertys store in mesquite not 10 minutes ago. Waited 35 min the sales associate who was supposedly helping me while she ditched me to go help people that were let’s just say much lighter than me. If you are black keep your money don’t patronize this store at all unless you want to be treated like a second class citizen.

Was to have three bedrooms of furniture delivered today between 10:00AM and Noon. Received a call at 11:00AM that delivery was 30 minutes away. At 2:00PM I began calling to find where they were. Finally reached the Atlanta Customer Service and was told that all deliveries were cancelled and that March 6 would be the next delivery date. We had already emptied the rooms and disposed of the old furniture. I expressed my displeasure of not being contacted and explained that my three daughters as well as out of town guest coming in this week for a birthday would be sleeping on the floor. Will be checking with Ashley, Freed’s or Stacy Furniture to see in they can make earlier delivery. After $ 35,000.00 in purchases from the Havertys Town East Store in Mesquite, Texas one would think they could at least make their deliveries or communicate with the customer. 02-28-2015 Reached out to Don Hicks and Amy at the Town East Store about this missed delivery. Was told by Amy that the delivery will be made on Tuesday. If this happens I will update and give credit for great customer service to Don and Amy.

What I liked about Haverty’s– 1. The salespeople were not pushy and overbearing. We told them what we wanted and they showed us where to find it. Then they left us alone to look around and consider what we wanted to buy. Only when we asked for them to return to answer a question did they reappear. 2. The furniture appears to be well-made(this is no Ikea or Ashley’s) and it’s reasonably priced as compared to other local furniture stores. 3. The checkout process was smooth– we opened an account to finance our furniture which didn’t take long. Then we were on our way over to the desk to sign some paperwork and the woman there was lovely. I could have listened to her speak forever since she had that true Texas drawl. 4. Delivery process– TBD. We haven’t had our delivery yet but they offer an app where you can track the truck your furniture is on and if you give them your cell number they will text you with updates on the date of your delivery. The delivery windows are 4−5hrs and you can choose the time-frame in advance to try to make it a little less inconvenient. I would definitely recommend the store to friends and family and we’ll most likely be shopping there again when we need furniture for a house.
