Scrumbscious Burgers & Pieshakes

I’ve only gotten the chance to have their pieshakes one tme, but you know it was a great pieshake if you can still remember the taste of it! It was worth every sip of it and highly recommend it for anyone wanting to try something new!

Its ok at best. If you want better than mcdonalds, or you want to stay close by in Mesquite vs. Driving to Dallas then this would suffice. But i dont know where all the people giving the hamburger 5 stars and rave reviews have eaten hamburgers at before, because there are MUCH better places in Dallas.
The prices arent cheap for what you get. Sorry but for the same money you can eat at twisted root or rodeo goat and get a much better burger. Theyre definitely much better than the crap joint across the street by cicis. The real plus is staying close to mesquite and not going to downtown dallas.
The shakes are good, but not so good that its worth the smaller portion for the same price at sonic, which is really about the level restaurant this is — a mom
And pop sonic.
the pies were mediocre, but everyone raves about them. Again– not sure what these people are comparing to, but i have had so many better pieces of pie at places around dfw, that this one hardly registers on my radar.
Avoid the drive thru unless you need to burn a tank of gas before returning a rental car, and have no where to be for a while. They should board that window up and focus on the almost equally slow service inside.
The sit down areas seemed dirty to me everytime. I cant put my finger on it exactly but it wasnt obvious dangerous filth /​sanitation or anything just something about the overall feel was like a run down dairy queen.
I was NOT impressed and the food doesnt live up to the hype.

Love them! Very nice southern atmosphere with nice staff and great food and the pie shakes are everything!

This is definitely one of my go to spots. They are never overly crowded which makes for a peaceful dining experience. The customer service isn’t always the best, but the food is what keeps you coming back! I always get the grilled chicken, messy. Yum!!! The fry sauce is delicious as well I use it for everything!!!
I love that this is a family owned and operated business, it makes for a more authentic dining experience. Another popular item here are the pie shakes, I personally have never tried them but people who have rave about them.

Absolutely LOVE this place! The owners are so friendly and their son is so respectful and nice. We have just been through the drive-​thru. Every time we come, we take our dogs in our truck bed. By the second time, the son remembered us and already knew our dogs names. :) The burgers are delicious along with their special sauce. The banana crème pieshake is to DIE for! We always come here for our burger fix!

If you’ve read the menu of this place, you might have seen a little something called a «Razzleberry Pieshake».
Now what is a «Razzleberry», you ask? I have absolutely no idea. If I had to guess I would say it’s a mix of rasberrys, blueberries, blackberries and perhaps strawberries as well. Nonetheless, this pieshake is simply amazing. Some may want to classify it as creamy smoothie, and while it is fitting, it doesn’t truly capture the heavenly goodness that comes in a commonplace styrofoam cup. If you have ever had a mango lassi (and enjoyed it), you will appreciate the thick and creaminess of this shake. Would greatly recommend if you stop here really quick for something sweet and filling.
I only wish I could have gotten more for my money. They did not offer any size variations (small, medium, and large) but I was pretty satisfied with what I got.

Went by here to finally try their infamous fried pies I always hear about. after waiting in the drive thru line over 20mins w/​one car in front of me. finally get to the window & they are out of pies. ended up getting a garden salad & fries. Fries were soggy almost it seemed? Salad was okay.

Great burgers and fries. Haven’t tried the shakes yet but plan to do so in the near future.

This is a great mom & pop shop with good food and excellent service. We wanted some pie after a meal at another place and found Scrumbscious on Unilocal.
Since it was late in the day, they were out of a few of their daily pies by the time we got there. We ordered the coconut crème pie and it was delicious. A perfect balance of creamy filling, chewy coconut, and crisp crust. Yum!
I had joked with the male (owner? manager?) about it being my birthday and, while my wife and sat there playing checkers and enjoying our pie, the female (owner? manager?) came out and offered us a fried pie. We tried the razzleberry and were impressed. A warm, flaky crust and a sweet mix of berries with cinnamon sprinkled on top. .. delicious.
We’ll be back.

I’ve had delivery from there a few times, I recommend going in person the quality in the store is much better than what you get on delivery.

Greasy, flavorless, takes too long, and the man that owns the restaurant is insanely rude. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. My pieshake gave me the worst stomach ache that lasted for days. The meat had clearly been frozen, how can something be dry and greasy?
Since leaving this review I have received a number of harassing messages, from what I can only assume is an employee or the owner. Just another reason why I would never recommend this establishment. It’s sad to see this level of maturity people in the restaurant industry, especially on a website that everyone is a critic.

Man… what a great shake! I skipped the gym today and was having a fat kid moment and they definitely scratched that itch! Picked it up from the counter and almost finished it by the time I reached the car!

I must say I rarely write a all out positive review on anyone but after getting some chicken express I saw across the street a curios place that made pies into shakes. They were closed on the dot, but gladly opened up for one more customer in order to experience their flavor. The food was great and the service was the cherry topper. Give this business your attention! !!! I know I will

This place has been near me for awhile and I finally decided to try it. I should have sooner. I got the grilled chicken sandwich and it was juicy and full of flavor. I’ve seen comments about the wait time in the drive thru. If you want to get your food in 5 – 10 minutes, go to McDonalds or Chic-​Fil-​A where it sits under the heat lamp. If you want hot, fresh, good food prepare to wait. I went inside because I knew it may take longer than a fast food chain place. I literally heard my food start to sizzle on the flat top as I ordered it. Chicken? Sizzle. Fries? Into the fryer. They were so fresh and hot I couldn’t even eat them in the car on the 5 minute drive home. The fries do turn out a little dark, but that is because they are cut from potatoes, have the skin on them and are not the pale tooth picks most places use. I am lacking a Burger House near me. Which I love. This is now going to be my go to burger/​chicken sandwich place. I got my dad sweet potato fries and he said «These? Are good fries.»

I would dare to say they serve the best burger I’ve ever tasted! Family owned and operated and tender loving care goes into every recipe. You must must make the drive to Mesquite TX to try their burgers. You won’t be sorry.

Just saying, shouldn’t advertise on Unilocal open at 8, when it doesn’t really open till 11 everyday.

Pretty good. I didn’t have any complaints. Since most places don’t have grilled cheese sandwiches on their menu, my friend and I were expecting something «special,» based on the rest of the menu. We were both a bit surprised that it seemed to be a regular old, basic grilled cheese.
Would I go back? Sure, if I was in the area. I wouldn’t make a trip across town for it, though. I also might opt for sweets next time, rather than the cheeseburger and onion rings. Don’t get me wrong, those were both good! But, I didn’t have any room for shakes, pies, etc. :)

If this is out of the way for you, I recommend that you call first. They are a small restaurant and there are times that they are closed to cater events.

Don’t get me wrong this place is excellent but I’m holding out on five stars till I get a better idea of the true scope of their menu.
That having been said I will admit that their pie shakes are to die for in a more or less figurative sense. My all time favorite is the Pecan Pie shake and I’d love to sample a pumpkin pie or sweet potato pie shake if they have them. I find it to be sheer brilliance that they dust their fries in sugar, despite the fact that it means I’m likelier to succumb to diabetes.

A can’t miss spot! Burgers are extra-​special and the fries are wonderful. The pies are as described — sCRUMScious!

Well I got to admit customer service and first impressions go a LONG way in my book! And this place had a lot to be desired in that department,
I had a banana cream pie shake and it was very good but it was hard to enjoy it, seeing how miserable the staff looked as they served us!
I would go back and give them another shot if ever in the area again just to see if it was an off day, but from the sounds of the reviews they have several off days
