I have been looking for a barber for a good, long while. Family Barber Shop on Oak, is awesome, but the wait was a little longer than I could do today. So, a friend had recommended this shop. I walked in, and the place is the real deal. No pretense, no hipsters, just good barbers, who really know how to cut hair. I was seated in less than 20 minutes. And from the moment I sat down, the experience was exactly what I have been missing. Conversation, but not too much. Fast, efficient service and the best cut I have had in a long while. If you are looking for a barber, make this your go-to-place. Ample parking, fast service, friendly barbers. And for me, I believe a barber should be $ 15.00, $ 16.00 tops. I want to leave there, handing the guy a 20, say keep the change and know he got a decent tip for his work. Actually, I gave him an extra dollar to make the tip an even 5, I was really loving this fade. Trust me, take the small drive to Metairie Rd. You’ll than me that you did.

As the other reviewers mention, this is an old fashioned men’s barber shop. I left work a little early because usually those types of places are pretty slow, but I was in and out here very quickly. Less than half an hour all in. There are four or five chairs, and each was staffed when I got there about 3:15 on a Tuesday. I think I’ve found my Eastbank barber shop. Take a number when you walk in. They’re on the wall to the left. Cash only. $ 16 for a basic cut.

Classic cuts at a great price. Mr. Phillip has always been extremely consistent. Haven’t worked with anyone else yet. Cash only with an ATM at the bar next door.

I love this old time style barber shop. Nothing beats a straight razor finish on the sideburns and neck.

I took my boys who were in a dire need of a haircut here. We are from out of town & I wanted an old fashioned barber shop like we usually frequent. They did awesome! Very patient with my toddler & they gave them both perfect«little boy haircuts» I highly recommend them.

In town for work, and needed a haircut bad. Dropped in, waited only about 5 minutes, and got a serviceable cut. Not the best, not the worst. However, after getting back to the hotel, taking a shower, and fixing my hair a bit, turns out it’s a great cut. They also offer hot shaves for $ 20. I didn’t have time, and was thoroughly bummed about that. Nothing like a real hot shave. These are tough to find anywhere, no matter the city, so guys, take advantage. I will certainly come back when I’m in town, and need a haircut… or just to relax, and get a hot shave one evening before dinner.

This is a real old school man’s barbershop. There are no fancy haircuts here just the standard buzz cut and trim. They also offer a classic straight razor shave for those times you’ve had to let the beard grow long or just when you feel the need for a professional job prior to a big event. This place typically draws boys brought by their mothers and older men as they don’t mess around with lots of metrosexual or hipster hair styles. They know how a man’s or boy’s hair should be cut in the classic 1950’s style and you can have it that way or go pay more somewhere else. The prices can’t be beat and compared to most other places in the metro area its just plain fast and cheap!

Good quick cut with warm shaving cream and straight razor shave afterward. Barber did not ask if cut was ok until too late. Lots of old white guys and the racist comments you would expect.
