Lefty’s Moving Service

I wish I could have left ZERO stars. Incredibly rude to deal with! VERY EXPENSIVE.
And after calling them back to talk about their services the secretary was short, rude, and HUNG UP ON ME, then continued to send my calls to voice mail for over an hour.
Completely unprofessional.
You’re better off with Two Men and a Truck or even renting your own truck and finding craigslist/​home depot workers to move stuff. To move a one bedroom 25 miles away I was quoted almost $ 400… yeah, no thanks!

What an impeccable company! Fast move, fantastic customer service (not to mention the owner is hilarious and made our stressful day float away), and zero damage!!! We were so thankful to get our stressful day out of the way and to choose Leftys! Inexpensive and great people that we could actually trust with our belongings!!!

Lefty’s Moving Service just showed up 10 minutes late for our appointment time. The owner was driving the beat-​up truck. I asked him to pull the truck closer to the house to save time (and money) and make it easier for the moving guys to load. He’d parked so that they had to go down the stairs and into the apartment parking lot next door to load the truck. He started arguing with me asking if I wanted to be responsible for breaking the concrete or for Plumbing breaks. I said people do it all the time at this house and there is no danger of that on the city side of the sidewalk (where I was asking him to pull into my driveway). He argued again and so I asked if he would be able to credit me for the extra time it will take for the men to load that way. I said that his way was going to take longer. He said «We don’t have to move you at all!» I told him, in a very calm but no-​nonsense voice, that what he’d just said was really rude and he yelled back «you’re rude! YOU’RE RUDE!» He was red-​faced and crazy-​eyed! This man was so incredibly rude to me, that when he repeated «We don’t have to move you at all!» I told him to leave. Now you know if I did that on my moving day it had to be bad!
I should’ve just gone with #ArthurPerez like I’ve done in the past. I just called AP and they’re coming today!

There is truly no better moving company than Lefty’s in the New Orleans area. I used them numerous times over 20+ years. Home and business moves, both. Always professional with employees who have worked there for years. Quality and customer service a fair price.

I used them to move me into a small one bedroom Condo in the Quarter when I first moved to Nola. They were good in making sure I had all the necessary items in place for a move into the Quarter… street closure, Police detail, etc.
But they put a deep 2 foot scratch in the front door of a brand new, still in shrinkwrap, STAINLESS STEEL Fridge. It was a Thousand dollar new fridge.
The owner came out and tried to buff the scratch out… impossible, the scratch was very deep. He finally cut me a check for $ 200 for my «inconvienience.»
Not much compensation when the only reason I bought that expensive fridge was for the purpose of reselling the Condo a few months later.
