Great pizza! Went here when we lived here and was very happy to return on a visit. Gets crazy busy and crowded to go at odd times for best experience.

I struggle with this place bc my family loves their pizza. We got it when we first moved to NOLA and then again when my parents came to visit. There’s some seasoning in the regular pizza that just doesn’t sit well with me. It’s almost like an anise taste. So not my favorite, but 3 stars bc my parents and boyfriend all really like the pizza. And the prices aren’t bad for the overpriced pizzas you can get down here(go to the north east. PA and NY… the pizza is super good and like $ 10 for a large).

OMG!!! Every time we go there the service is excellent and the pizza is to die forn. I wished we lived closer so we could go there more often. The best pizza place in New Orleans. We always get Innocence abroad and a pepperoni pizza

I love coming here and actually do dine here about 2 – 3 times a week. The staff is terrific, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is fun. Having said all that, I’m getting REALLY tired of the attitude that kids should be allowed to run hog wild. Often groups of little league teams or the like come in. They park the kids at one table while the adults park at another and pay no attention to the shenanigans of their offspring. It is far past time that Jacques(the owner) step in and establish a policy that parents/adults must keep control of the children. The last time I went in there was a kid of about 9 – 10 years old shooting spit balls at passerby. Nothing was said to this child by the adults with him and the only staff member who said anything was a server. I understand that Jacques likely fears alienating the little league crowd, but in continuing with his non-action he is alienating a far larger crowd: the regulars who come in frequently and are tired of being lambasted by spit balls or tripped by children running.(Which by the way is a health hazard that a patron could conceivably sue over). I am strongly considering ending my patronage of Mark Twain Pizza and the weekly group I am a part of is considering other venues. TL;DR: Great staff. Great food. Unruly kids ruining the experience.

Hadn’t been here in many years since moving out of the neighborhood, but it was just as good as I remember! Still a wonderful locals place that hasn’t changed much inside or out. Tonight we had 2 favorites: an Aunt Polly salad & a Life on the Mississippi pizza on wheat crust(minus anchovies & jalapeño). PERFECT! Can’t wait to be in the hood again to go back.

I am going to remain with the 4-stars even though I am kind of unhappy. I revisited last night after a long day. It was packed! Large groups and small groups. I got a table, had to ask for a menu and ask for a drink. I picked a pizza(Creole: anduille sausage, shrimp, oh my!), and was ready to order. Looking around, I saw a medium size group that appeared to be ready to order as well. There were four guys standing behind the counter looking out to the restaurant doing nothing. One could not stop yawning. A few minutes later, I grab a passing waitress and was able to order. They were busy, so I expected the wait time for the pizza. I had to ask for a to go box about 20 minutes after I was done eating. The bill came to just over $ 13, I gave a $ 20, and I actually had to ask for my change 30 minutes after giving my money. I am going to take this as a random fluke as I do like this place, and I look forward to coming back when I am in the area again.

I want to preface this review by saying that the service was great. The servers we had were very accommodating, upbeat, and kind. Kate was especially wonderful with rectifying the following: We waited 45 minutes for the Huck Finn pizza, to receive it undercooked and not hot. We asked to have it cooked longer. 10 minutes later, the pizza came back soggier than before. The server mentioned that it might be soggy because of the veggies on top(not sure if that’s a common problem?) and offered to have them make us a new one free of charge. The remade pizza was way better. Thanks!

Went here last night to tackle my pizza craving. Mysterious stranger pizza did the trick. This place has friendly servers, old school New Orleans atmosphere and really good pizza. Looking forward to the leftovers for dinner tonight. So glad we tried out this neighborhood gem. We will be back!

I hate leaving a bad review, but I’m NOT happy. Ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad and bread sticks to go. Told to pick up in 25 minutes. Walk in the door 30 minutes later, pay and then I’m told, «oops, we forgot the grilled chicken.» Umm, ok. Offered something to drink while I wait on the chicken — root beer. Just got home with the order: limp lettuce, NO dressing and chicken. At least the breadsticks are good.

Best Pizza in Old Metairie. The owner is always there and very friendly. We usually take-out and our order is always right. One time we had to wait and he threw in a dessert. Don’t bother with the chain joints when you can buy great local pizza here with friendly service and a local owner who cares about his customers.

Best pizza in Metairie for sure. If they delivered I wouldn’t even bother with naked pizza, as they have all the healthier options as well in terms of pizza. Whole wheat crust, etc. Lots of families of all age groups whenever I go to get takeout.

Came here with my SO and cousin for some pizza after going to Tower of Pizza and finding they were closed. Well, it worked out wonderfully. The pizza was pretty damn good(pepperoni and sausage), and they even gave me some feta on the side, since the other two didn’t like feta. The pizza came out relatively quick after we ordered it(made fresh), and my only knock was that the dough was a little, well, doughy. But the taste was spot on the pizza wasn’t overly greasy, despite the toppings. Solid work.

We love the pizza here, but have yet to get a waitress that is attentive. On our last visit the waitress took our drink orders, then came back and took our food order, then she did not even look at us for the rest of the meal. I had to flag down someone in the kitchen to get drink refills. And, she had a table right next to ours so she couldn’t help but see that we were out of drinks! I know they get busy but that was ridiculous! They have a ton of regulars and they seem to get the most attention. Will probably do take out from now on.

They definitely take their time to prepare your food here and this doesn’t seem like a place to go if you’re in a hurry. They also have some strange rules on their menu about not serving some items on the menu like sandwiches after 5:00pm on certain days. The main focus is the pizza here but they also have a selection of po boys and other sandwiches along with a surprisingly good seafood gumbo. Decent pizza at a decent price and it seems popular with families with young kids.

Everytime I come to visit my mother in law this is where we walk to! Best pizza and service ever. Very kid friendly and I love the small and quant environment! We build our own pizza, pepperoni, mushroom, goat cheese and anchovies pizza, I know sounds disgusting, but the best pizza ever

Love aunt Polly’s salad, and the pizza is great.(It’s not«that’s amore»). My only gripe is that the owner is compulsive with ingredients. Weighs the dough, meat, cheese, etc. It’s a bit much. Go and watch a pizza bring made and tell me what you think…

I love pizza. All sauces, crusts and styles. If I had to pick my most favorite pizza in New Orleans, it would be the Creole Pizza with white sauce. It’s shrimp, andouille, crabmeat and zucchini with a garlic/olive oil sauce. I get the white sauce because sometimes tomato sauce can overpower the flavors on top. I adore this pizza, no ranch necessary. I get a large to split with my boyfriend, so I can eat the leftovers 4 hours later. A slice of Creole Pizza with an Abita Purple Haze really hits the spot. There are plenty of other GREAT pizza places in NOLA, I just think this one is the King of New Orleans pizza for me. As for the ambiance, it’s a very mom-and-pop place with kids in there baseball uniforms covered in grass stains bopping from tables to talk to their friends at the other tables. If you’re not into a kid-friendly crowd, order to-go. They are closed on Mondays, a killer for when you’re still trying to recover from a crazy weekend. They also have some weird times when dishes are available, so check into that before you sit down if you’re craving a particular dish. Despite some quirks, they accommodated a gluten-free friend with a make-you-own pizza option; very progressive for an older restaurant.
