Mike’s Golden Cleaners

Best alteration folks in Metairie. They altered my old military uniform to fit me and completely refinished a newly purchased uniform set to the highest standards. These guys are the best.

They do an excellent job on the difficult items, like handmade cloth dolls, petit point handbags and vintage clothing. Courteous and very professional, even the high school aged girls. The couple of times that the items did not come out clean, the items were cleaned again without any problems. I also come from New Orleans to use them. They also can get your furs cleaned (very reasonably) and the seamstress on duty is excellent as well.

Mike’s Golden Cleaners is the absolute best cleaners in Metairie. Many of my friends from New Orleans also come here — because it is the best in Louisiana!
They have a very courteous, professional staff that great you when you walk in the door.
Your clothes will come out beautifully cleaned. They take so much pride in the work they do in and how your clothes are presented to you upon completion. All the staff make you feel so special!
They also have cleaned for me duvet covers, comforters, drapes, formal wear etc.
Everything I give them comes out wonderful!
They also have an excellent alterations department.
There is a large parking lot in front.
If you are looking for a fantastic cleaners than go to Mike’s Golden Cleaners. No other cleaners in the city even compares to them!

I have nothing but great things to say about this place! I tried it for the first time after my old cleaners started to get a little pricey. I have to get my comforter cleaned professionally because it is way too big to fit in my washing machine. Mike’s quoted me a cheaper price than the previous place so I gave em a shot.
First of all, they have always been nothing but very courteous and professional everytime I go there. Everything is super clean when I get it and in a reasonable amount of time too. Also, I have had several items altered in their alterations department. My last time there I dropped off my comforter and a dress shirt to get laundered and had a suede leather jacket altered and cleaned (it had a stain and now the stain is gone!) and a pair of jeans taken up. I couldn’t believe how cheap it was and how great of a job they did! I didn’t even think the jacket could be altered but she figured out a way and now it fits great. The grand total was only $ 60 for everything! I got a quote for leather jacket cleaning from another location and they wanted $ 60 just for that (I think because most places have to send out for leather cleaning).
In my experience this is the best place for cleaning (especially leather) and definitely alterations! I would recommend it to anyone.
Side note: Another great experience I had was when another customer (an elderly woman) hit my car backing out of the parking lot. They were very helpful with the situation and even offered their video camera footage if I needed it for evidence. Luckily I didn’t because it wasn’t worth the trouble for the small amount of damage. But it was still nice to know the option was there. Like I said, nothing but good experiences with the staff and their services.

The location moved to 806 Homestead, 2 blocks away from the previous location, still in Metairie.
Looks like I’m the first brave Unilocaler soul to try this new location.
First impressions: 1. Clean and large; 2. school-​aged girls (in too short shorts) running the front with limited customer service skills; 3. No military discount, only NOPD. Go figure; and, 4. Ample parking.
I brought in 16 items (work clothes: slacks, skirts, shirts & dresses). Grand total: a whopping $ 108.00. Call me crazy, but that’s extremely expensive! Decent job but not as good as their prices suggest. This was my first and last visit.
