My favorite poboy place in Metry… good service, not too long to wait for food. I base my rating on the shimp and oyster poboys(i don’t eat roastbeef poboys) they are very good and not stingy with the seafood.

Parran’s has been a favorite of mine for years. I always order the same thing: roast beef poboy with light gray, fries and soda. The bread is PERFECT. Its soft while still being substantial enough to stand up to all the gravy. The roast is obviously a real roast that was cooked slow and made perfect. The roast was piled so high that you could have made another sandwich with what fell off while I ate it! The fries are wonderful and crispy. I don’t think they are frozen, but I couldn’t tell. My husband orders the cheeseburger poboy which is 2 charbroiled patties, which he couldn’t finish. Nice people, super-cold air conditioning with television. We love this place!

I came here Saturday for a quick poboy. I got the fried shrimp poboy. The sandwich was huge and the shrimp were huge and delicious. It came out hot and fresh. We also ordered the fried pickles. It came with ranch dressing, which tasted homemade and wonderful. I can’t believe this was the first time coming here, but I will be returning soon!

Was overcharged for an entrée by $ 1.00. Veal Antonio was listed on the menu as $ 12.95. On the receipt, it showed $ 13.95. I overpaid for a dollar plus the tax. When I asked the older woman, who was the cashier and collected my money, about the discrepancy, she was clueless and ignorant of the situation. Even after seeing the mistake, she didn’t offer a refund of my money only mumbling that she had to talk to someone about the menu price mistake. WTF? I wasnt about to get angry over a dollar, but the cashier, seemingly not able or unwilling to address the fraudulent situation was an injustice I had to speak out about. The Veal Antonio was not that good. The veal cutlet seemed like it was fried in old oil, leaving a burnt taste in my mouth. There was too much butter sauce in the pasta. It was very greasy. There was a big pool of butter on the plate after I finished. I definitely won’t be ordering that dish again!

Great poboys in a place where you are served with a smile. We ordered our favorite ones again – roast beef and a fried shrimp poboy. This roast beef poboy had gravy on it and was dressed but I sure missed my pickle. The shrimp one was excellent with many shrimp dropping off the sandwich because there were so many. Great place to get a good lunch with friendly people. Parking is limited so it’s best to go on off hours.

A taste of New Orleans for a fair price. I believe it’s location is in a soon to be booming shopping center. I ordered the seafood muffaletta and I have to say I was disappointed nor impressed, the staff was very friendly and the restaurant itself is very new and clean. I look forward to coming back and trying a few more poboys in the near future.

I was in New Orleans to drop my daughter off at college. Of course New Orleans is known for Po-Boys, so had to find a good one. After reading the reviews on Unilocal for the location decided to stop by. So HAPPY I did, we had Po-Boys and fed beans and rice, which were AMAZING. My daughters father ordered some tango, and was so upset when he dropped them crossing the street LOL. My daughter recently called asking me for the name and number.

Great food, service, and atmosphere. Their poboys are delicious and the Italian dishes use a rich red gravy.

So how long is Parrains of Kenner going to be limited menu, also the French bread is not New Orleans type french bread, Leidenheimer Baking Company is the best New Orleans style french bread. I should know I’m from the 9th ward back in the 60’s. Get your art together, thought Parran’s of Kenner would be good old style New Orleans, but it’s not. Also the order taker didn’t understand I wanted«Ham & Swiss on french dressed» I know I have a New Orleans accent but English is English not Spanish

The food is always tasty. I had the Catfish Lorelle. It’s fried catfish with shrimp creole on top. So yummy! Their gumbo is delicious. The food comes out pretty quickly. I think it’s a bit over priced.

I used to love Parran’s but not after today. $ 17.42 for a shrimp po-boy, fries, and a drink. That’s high in my book, but to add insult to injury I only have 9 shrimp on the sandwich. This will be my last time.

I’m going to assume anyone that gave 3 stars and lower didn’t order the right thing. I tried Parran’s today for the first time. I ordered the fried Chicken Parran Poboy. Holy cow! The chicken is extremely tender and juicy. It’s seasoned really well, also! The«red gravy» is also very meaty and well seasoned. I ordered to-go, so my bread is a little soggy, but the flavor more than make up for it. The price to quantity and quality is outstanding!

I love this place for so many reasons, but mostly because it’s so close to my parents’ house. When I visit, I try to get both a roast beef po boy and a muffuletta. So, if I’m not venturing downtown, I get both here. They are both delicious! I just wish that they put a bit more meat on the po boy, but I’ll just ask next time, they are super nice, so I feel sure that they will be accommodating.

Delicious. Had the roast beef poboy and it was soaked in gravy. Messy and amazing. Little on the pricey side for a sandwich, but pretty good nonetheless. Had it to go, so not sure about service. Seemed pretty crowded.

Overall the 2 different poboys I’ve eaten from there were great in taste and flavor, very good bread. But, the place is over rated for sure. Small poboys, 8″ in length and over priced for sure. A Lg. hot sausage(which if your from here you know generally most places, is the cheaper choice) came out to $ 9 and change, aside from the fact that I was told it was $ 0.35 extra to have it dressed! I mean who charges for that?! Very yuppie Metairie feel inside with Sinatra style Italian music playing… NOT impressed by any means. For almost $ 10 you can make 2 – 3 loafs of hot sausage poboys … Their popularity is all in their marketing… Many other better places to go then here.

Poboys here are what I would expect out of a New Orleans traditional poboy. We ordered ham and swiss and roast beef dressed and a large cheese fries. We enjoyed our meal. Comparatively, you get more for your money at Melbas in Gentilly but this is good second if you’re in Metairie. You order at the counter and they give you a number. Find a seat and when your order is ready a server/busser will call out your number and bring your food to your table. Bathrooms were kinda gross. Two unisex rooms next to each other. The u shaped seat was larger that the bowl and overlapped it and had pee all over it. Overall, food is reasonably priced, filling and tasted good. I will come here again, but I will not use the bathrooms. Probably do take out instead.

Disclaimer: this is a drunk-review. It is Good Friday and I just came home from a crawfish boil and I wanted to take home an oyster poboy for a drunken food orgy to keep the party going. Sadly I am left very ungratified. My oyster poboy was short on flavor and texture. The french bread tastes like run-of-the-mill grocery store brand and it is soft, not crusty. The oysters had no oyster flavor. Also, there were no pickles! Is that legal? I needed those pickles. Overall just a zero flavor calorie-bomb. :-(

Parran’s is great for lunch. They offer a variety of New Orleans favorites. My husband loves the red beans and sausage, made in house. I am a fan of meatballs and spaghetti and their’s is very good. They have daily specials as well.

I only had the beer battered crawfish po’boy but it was awesome. Super tasty and filling. I think the thing to do is come here with a few friends and split sandwich halves as they only seem to have half portions for a few select menu items.
