This is just about my favorite Thai restaurant. I have been eating here for the last 15 years & have never had less than an excellent experience. Siamese Thai is an oasis & this is apparent as soon as you enter. The décor is beautiful-from the teak art & floral arrangements to the small fountain & pond. Their four page menu provides an assortment of native Thai foods, from soups to curries, vegetarian & seafood. Their Thai iced tea is perfection. The yellow chicken curry with potatoes & onions is one of my favorite dishes, here. Food portions are large & I often take the leftovers home. Their lunch menu has a good selection & is a great value, too especially when compared to many other all you can eat Asian buffet style lunches. There are no foods put out in bulk or hustle & bustle at Siamese & in my opinion, that is what makes this restaurant, a real gem.

Lunch portions are tiny! I mean like a small spoonful of pad Thai and half an egg roll. The pad Thai had a very funny color and almost a tomato flavor to it. Way overpriced 10.00 a plate for lunch and left hungry.

A gem in a place you might not be looking for Thai food. I’ve never been disappointed here. Service is always great and the food is really good. You can also call in your meal if ya just wanna pick it up.

Love this place! This was one of the very first Thai restaurants in the New Orleans and environs. Total Mom and Pop! As in the waitress is the owner and her husband is doing the cooking. That being said… I let things like the frequency of water and ice tea refills go in lieu of food quality. Lunch Specials are a really good deal and come with soup and a spring roll.

The best Thai in town. The Coconut soup is the best I have ever had… anywhere! The curries our delicious and anything made with eggplant is great! Not to be missed.

Wow! This place really makes everything from the ground up. I’m a vegetarian and always the Thai currys have some level of fish paste in it — even if the restaurant doesn’t add it. Here they make everything from scratch. And the best part is they don’t use fish paste so I can get my currys with my friends. — And the best, best part is that it’s really really good. I would def recco this to any one who might have any gluten free or veg diet. You will eat well and be taken care of!

I wanted to like this place so badly. Ive had delicious Thai food before elsewhere but this place has really ruined Thai for me. went there on a Saturday night and there was only ONE waitress, she was a kind woman but with about 6 tables to serve she was really struggling. She didn’t come to refill our drinks or ask if were okey not even once. poor lady . We ordered the pineapple rice, pad thai and sticky brown rice. The pineapple rice was okey, served inside an actual pineapple which was pretty cool, the pad thai though was incredibly sweet, like peanut butter noodles, Ive never had such unbearably sweet Pad Thai and the sticky rice was horrible! Hard rice with absolutely NO flavor no salt, nothing! Must’ve been boiled in hot water for about 5 min then served. What a shame :(

Excellent authentic Thai. The soup is a nice bonus to every meal and spiciness is cooked to order. Recommend the Cashew Nut Chicken for simple spicy deliciousness.

We were staying at the hotel next door and it was either this or Subway. Thai seemed like the right choice to go. The Green Curry with Tofu was delicious and the Thai Tea was great. Perfectly creamy and spiced. They give you an abundance of tofu for your curry and you’re left feeling full and satisfied. The waitress/hostess also did not complain about having to split checks. She was very nice. Everybody else also enjoyed their dishes. My friend got the Drunken Noodles with Shrimp and he said it was a bit spicy but still delicious. Stop by this place if you’re in the area. They also mark items on their menu that are vegetarian and gluten free! Very helpful for those with dietary restrictions and they’re also very accomodating.

Delicious food, excellent service. The prices for some items seem a little high but the food is very good. On this particular visit we our group got the stuffed chicken wings, duck salad, seafood soup, Panang curry with chicken and the drunken noodles with pork. Everyone enjoyed their food. I would recommend it :)

This was exactly what I had hoped it would be. A tiny restaurant in a strip mall, this restaurant offers fantastic, polite, service and a truly varied menu. Their lunch menu is a steal: soup, an egg roll, and about 15 different options(curries, noodle dishes, etc.) for $ 8.50. The yellow curry with beef and potatoes was divine. Entirely unassuming, and what I would assume would be a great place for groups. This is a great place to pick up a meal after arriving in town from the airport, such as was my experience. Takeout is another very feasible option, too.

I have been going here for lunch 1 – 3 times a week for over a year, and have also gone for dinner a few times. The owner and staff are very friendly and thoughtful, the food is very consistent and always fresh and at the ideal temperature. They offer brown rice, have fresh thai chilies for my spicy tastes, and they offer veg dishes with fried tofu, fresh tofu, or just vegetables. In addition, my meat-eating and«no spice» coworkers always enjoy their selections. Together we have covered almost the entire menu. My favorite thing about Siamese Thai is that the curries are made from scratch(a rarity), to avoid the undesirable things in commercial pastes – no Mae Ploy in use here! They will always answer questions about the food and want to make sure you are happy. The price is just right for the portions, food comes out quickly, and other than the AC always being too chilly for me, it’s a very nice place to enjoy a meal; it’s an especially nice option in the area. The location is tucked at the far end of a collection of strip malls that all face one huge parking lot. If you aren’t local, just look for TJ Maxx or Downs Blvd. If you are in a food coma afterward, take a stroll around Lafreniere Park.

My daughter loved the Garlic Pepper beef but for me it was hoison-sauce overload. It had me wondering, where is the garlic, where’s the peps? The chicken satay was good and I like how our server lit it up in flames. I would go again for lunch and try something else because the lady was so sweet and nice.

Casting my vote on the«Never Again» side of the fence. 2 stars for good service, and a clean restaurant. I ordered the Thai Tea — always do in Thai restaurants, I LOVE the stuff. This tasted weird, so I asked what they used for the milk… Nondairy Cream was the answer. Not Coconut Milk, nor real cream, but the fake crap. Yuck #1 I then ordered the Papaya Salad… again, had many times in many places, and didn’t know it could be absolutely awful. It’s a pretty simple dish. This was so spicy it made my stomach hurt, and I really enjoy spicy food. Big Chunks of onion skin that was totally inedible, mealy tomato slices… and so many peanuts that it started to feel like eating wet peanut salad. Strange and nasty. Yuck #2 So, I decided to try and salvage an awful meal by throwing another $ 13 at it and ordered my typically favorite curry dish. Meh. Mostly tasteless, big chunks of what I Think was plantains, but cannot be sure. It was Really Sweet. All in all, a pretty wretched experience — and I had such high hopes for a place with such great reviews. 3 strikes in one meal. My suggestion: head into New Orleans on Royal, and eat at Suko Thai. SO much better, fresh, and fun.

This is my go to place when I want Thai food. The atmosphere is rather relaxed and the wait staff is friendly. The food is really good, although I always order the same thing when I go(Panang Shrimp).

A pleasant surprise to find a pleasant and healthy place to eat on a far edge of Metaire, amidst big box retail and car dealerships! Good selection of veggie and seafood plates, the best iced tea I’ve had anywhere. Service is attentive, but unobtrusive. The atmosphere is on the relaxed end of strip mall restaurants. Not overdone with thematic Asian décor, with a relaxing vibe. It’s location is tucked away, and takes some skill to spot, but worth the trouble. I only noticed it because I walked he reforms seminar at the hotel next door. Plan to return. Siamese offers a range of heat, and medium was attention-getting. Any hotter would burn me up. Interesting coconut-based soup. Everything was well-prepared, and the typically light, flavorful Thai preparation. If you find yourself in this part of town, it beats the other, heavier, typically chain choices in the area.

I live in New York area and this food sucks… Soup was cold. Red curry was so sweet. I hate to send a bad review but I had to make this review as I was so hungry and dis-appointed with the food… Will never go back

Came here for lunch. I ordered Pad Thai. Service was good. Place looked«OK». I guess for being in Metairie it was OK. Since I ordered off the lunch menu, the portion was skimpy. It came with half an egg roll and coconut soup. Up to this point everything was«OK». The noodles used were not the best quality, and flimsy. The sauce was greasy, heavy and«gritty». It wasn’t «awful» but definitely the worst Pad Thai I’ve ever had. I’ve been to many Thai restaurants and this one didn’t make the cut. I paid $ 12 plus tip.
