The Swamp Room

I can’t say I have any serious complaints.
I always get a burger and it’s insanely juicy and tasteful! The bartenders are very nice and friendly.
The bad side is the smoke. So I tend to get my good to go :)

They have amazing burgers, on par with Port of Call for half the price $ 5-​$ 7 fries are like another 3 or 4 bucks but you get plenty of them. They do allow smoking but it’s not overwhelming like at some bars. If you’re looking for food and drinks at a reasonable price this is a good place to check out.

Service is lousy if you are here to eat. We walked in and didnt know if we just sit down or wait to be seated. We chose to just sit at a table and played a game of find the hiding menus cause they were no menus anywhere to be found. The swamp burger makes all the confusion worth it though. This place has great hamburgers and are open late. It has a great atmosphere for drinking.

The .50 mushrooms, .50 «takeout», .50 this, .50 that rubs me like a bait and switch mentality…
That line of thinking is similar to the pizza place on Metairie Rd. Where they have 1 hand on the pizza & 1 on the scale. It’s like ummm, let’s check out the pizza place with the highest ratings, and see if they sit and stare at the scale half the time.
That was all I was trying to get across. Sorry if it came out wrong… The burgers and steak are dead-​on righteous. Some of the other items are so fresh, they burn your mouth when you bite into them.
Don’t plan to «raise hell», because they have a clientele of mostly locals, cops working detail outside, & a fake I.d. will have you in the slammer if THEY choose to do so.

GREAT food! Great random music! Pool table and dart boards! Prices are great! Don’t expect too much, it’s a dive! But by far my favorite!

This is my favorite place to go when I want to wait 10 minutes to get a drink because the bartenders are flirting and drinking with their male regulars. Not an isolated incident by far. They are, however, friendly when you do get to order.
The burgers are fabulous, and there are tons of games and such. It’s not my favorite spot by far, but I wouldn’t go as far as to say I’ll never return… I’ll just bring a book to read while I wait to be served.

Id give it 5 stars for a fun Metairie bar, but its way too smokey in there. With that said, I’ve always had fun here. They have pool tables, tvs at each booth for game watching, juke box, darts, and video poker/​porn games on some of the tables. Not to mention this place has amazing boudin balls done right. They have a good amount of meat inside the balls and they are bigger than golf balls. The burgers are where it’s at. Honestly my second best burger to port of call. The place as a small parking lot in the front. I’m not sure if there is additional in the back though, I think there is. They do have a happy hour that lasts till 7, but not sure what that entails. Keep up the good work, guys.

I walked in and had no idea if we should wait to be seated and kept looking around, apparently you just order at the bar. They should have a sign.
We ordered the famous cheese burger I keep hearing about and honestly it was very good, comparable to Port A Call for ½ the price. We also had wings and onions rings, also very good! I’m not a smoker and this smoking bar but it didn’t bother me like I thought it would. I enjoyed the music they played and it wasn’t all loud like the other reviews said. The service I received from the male bartender was excellent and women bartenders never looked our way LOL.
Definitely going back!

Man, it’s a dive for sure. Dark not so clean looking typical bar room décor. BUT, the 12oz cheeseburger at only $ 7 is delish!
I am long out of my years of hanging out at place like this on the regular but I tell you what I could eat that burger once a week easy! Next time I won’t order a side because after I finished my burger I had no room for my chips with chili and cheese.
I definitely see me eating here at the least once a month. My favorite burger is, of course, still Port of Call but when not wanting to wait in line or make the drive I’ll for sure come here instead.
Try the Cheesburger !! They cook to order which is my make or break for wether I order a burger anywhere!

Had the wings cheese sticks and boudin balls. All was just ok and I was drunk so should have been better but hey it was serving food when others were not in metarie. Would not eat here sober though. Service was horribly slow

The Swamp Room is everything you’d expect in a bar … Dark and Swampy with a good burger. And the best closest bar to Kennerbrah!

I love swamp I have become a regular customer because it is not far from my work great prices good food and I get to throw sharp pointy objects at the wall (darts) love it

If you’re looking for a late night spot in Metairie and want to befriend a bunch of locals, eat some good food, and drink a stiff drink then this is your place. A mainstay for years, pretty much everything on the menu is great but I’m partial to the ubiquitous gator burger and the hot link (not patty) sandwich. They have tons of bar games like pool, darts, video poker, skee ball, and video games too. Only downside of this place is that parking can be a nightmare and service can be slow because it’s so busy. If you’re in the neighborhood definitely stop by!

This place was super packed on a Friday night at 12:38. It was so busy. I ordered the swamp burger and loaded potatoe skins and I had a $ 3.25 sky vodka, grenadine aand pineapple juice. Let me tell you bout the burget. It was a great fulfilling size. Not too big not too little, it was just right. You can order it to your liking such as medium rare or well done so definitely grab one. They are famous for their burgers and I now know why. My potato wedges were so good. Everything was good I really enjoyed myself. The atmosphere was really cool, loud, smokey, red dark toned lightning, like a bar should be. Cheap drinks and great food

After a long day and night of drinking, my boyfriends mom picked us up and drove us back to Metairie stopping at this place. It was exactly what late night drunk me wanted.
I devoured the huge delicious burger with generous portions of cheese and other toppings. We also had the potato skins which were pretty basic (just cheese and bacon with sour cream for dippin) but crispy and delicious.
The only thing I can complain about in terms of food is that they over cooked my burger (ordered it med rare and it came out brown all the way through) but my boyfriend s came out great so it was probably just a fluke because they were crazy busy.
Its a loud drunk young people place for sure and we had to go to the bar to order food but none of that bothered me.

It’s loud. It’s crowded. Service is slow and unattentive most of the time but it is still one of Metry’s best bars. Not only do they have great bar food but it is just a fun place to drink with friends. Drink prices are reasonable. The bar is huge and takes up most of the space.
Service industry workers get happy hour prices all day. All others happy hour till 7pm daily! The Swamp Room is hard to beat for an enjoyable night out with friends in Metry!

As soon as I see the fluorescent alligator holding a chalice overflowing with beer, I know I am about to consume some fabulous bar food (and hate myself later). If you get the alligator logo tattooed on your body you get free Swamp Room and respect for the rest of your life, or at least that is what I tell my friends. Its the type of place where it can be very believable and a time honored tradition. The food is so good a few of my friends actually considered it, but I’m such a damn good friend I couldn’t let them go through with it. Even if it was on the bottom of their foot. My plan is to start telling people I’m not too keen on because I will have lived a full life just knowing someone walks this Earth with a Swamp Room tattoo.
Go for the heaven balls (buffalo chicken bites) and cheese fries. That is all.
Also, really good thick patty burgers cooked however you like. It’s a good place for late night eats when calories are no longer in effect.
The crowd is worth the trip in itself. It is a mix of service industry workers still in their respective uniforms, regulars with mullets, camouflage attire, friendly yelling, and people still in their club clothes for a night cap.
One star off for still allowing smoking, I just hate the smell when I’m eating. I also never want to see what it looks like with the lights on.
I really appreciate the novelty of playing «erotic» photo hunt with pictures that have not been updated since the 80s.
