I hardly ever shop at boutiques because they are so expensive, but I happened to be in the area killing time and I walked in here (20 months pregnant holding the hand of my 20 month old).
First of all, the staff here is so friendly and KNOWLEDGEABLE! It is a thousand times better than trying to talk to someone at Buy Buy Baby or Babies R Us!!! I wish I would have come here during my first pregnancy rather than spending hours and hours reading «expert» and consumer reviews of baby items online. You can actually trust the staff to be honest with you. While I was in, I saw another customer registering – genius!
In addition to selling merchandise, they also offer courses in baby wearing, cloth diapering, breastfeeding, etc. They even offer a «Grandparents» class to teach/​remind/​update our parents’ generation or any other carers about modern best practices for baby safety. I am not sure, but I would bet that these courses explain why the staff is so knowledgable.
With respect to prices, I feel like I got some great deals. Full disclosure: I went in during their New Years’ special (16% off everything). Additionally, some of the items I got were already 50% off. That said, even the full price items that I saw were at least competitive with Amazon if you consider that you get to touch and feel them (or try them on yourself or your kid) and own them immediately.

I WISH I would have known about Zukababy sooner! My 7 month old (third child) is teething. I was tired of giving him medication for pain, so I talked to my friend about the Amber Teething necklace I remembered her daughter wearing. «I got it from Zukababy», she said. I could kick her for not sharing this little gem sooner! Not only was the store awesome… Whitney gave me some of the BEST customer service I’ve ever received in my life. We talked about cloth diapering, baby wearing… I think I was in here for almost 2 hours. The best part about Whitney’s opinions and knowledge was that they all came from experience! She is a mom!!! I will definitely shop here as much as I possibly can. (My husband also enjoyed shopping here and he HATES shopping)
