Do you LOVE falafels like me? If yes, Korbani’s Bakery in Methuen, Massachusetts makes the best falafel sandwich I’ve ever tasted in the US. So far I lived only in Texas, the Midwest, San Francisco and currently Maine and I never had a great falafel sandwich like at Korbani’s. It’s owned by a Lebanese family and the lady there, I forgot her name, makes the sandwiches with TLC like nowhere else. Ask her not to add onions to the sandwich. Onions should NOT be added to a falafel sandwich, it’s a blasphemy in the world of falafels. She wraps it with a freshly-made flat thin pita bread, tomatoes, lettuce, parsley, pink pickled turnips and tahini/yogurt sauce… Just perfect! This is how founding fathers of falafel made it and intended it to be. Tried them 6 times, quality is persistently top-notch. It’s a bakery, a grocery store and a kitchen. They cook a lot of delicious-looking dishes, but with that falafel sandwich, I have no business in anything else there. Probably I need to consider moving to Massachusetts after all. Photos, lo siento, I haven’t taken any, but next time.

Great Lebanese food, fresh and flavorful. Freshest pita bread you’ll find in the area. I recommend everything. Love the stuffed cabbage and squash. Your mind will go crazy with what to order. So get a little of everything, you can’t go wrong

I’m Lebanese and this wonderful, no frills market and bakery is the real deal. By far, the best Lebanese bread in the area. It will make you forget about that crap they call«pita» in supermarkets. The prepared foods are generally top notch. Every now and then something won’t be up to snuff but minor inconsistencies are at most a quibble. If you’ve never had a real Middle Eastern stuffed grape leaf, start here. No, they are NOT the same as dolmas, those soggy, olive oil soaked things they serve in Greek restaurants. The meat pies are also excellent. Hopefully enjoying the prepared foods will inspire you to make your own Lebanese treats. Everything you’ll need is ready available on the shelves in the small market area. The staff is warm and friendly, a family business that makes you feel like family.

Pita bread by far the best. I also am a fan of the kibbie balls, fried and worth the money. You want fresh it’s here.

AUTHENTICLEBANESEFOOD. When I can’t get to my Lebanese friends sometimes, I have to cave and go out and buy them — today was that day. However, I had the misfortune of going to another Lebanese market to to satisfy my grape leaves and hommus cravings — they were awful and I ended up throwing them out WAYTOOMUCHSALT. Not the case here! My Grandparents buy all their bread here and told me that they actually sell grocery items and have fresh hommus and other to order items. Off I went to buy hommus and grape leaves yet again. They were so good and the authentic proves that, grape leaves are by the pound and very large if you ask me! I will be back here again to fill up on my favorite food!

The bread is awesome! Everyone“s very helpful and pleasant I“m originally from Central MA, and have tried to find a bakery in the area for Lebanese and other Mediterranean specialties. Well, I found my new favorite in Methuen. Its easy to get to with plenty of parking. Every time I go, I try something new, in addition to what I buy regularly. I“ve been pleased with what I’ve had so far. that’s why I now visit this great place once a week!

I LOVE this little Lebanese market!!! The food is all fresh and delicious. The bread is a MUST try. I’ve been coming here for over 10 years and have never had reason for complaint. The cabbage leaves and grape leaves, with tomato sauce, are some of the BEST in the area. Just an FYI, their tomato sauce is more like tomato water so don’t be surprised, it’s great. I think the leaves can, at times, be a bit on the dry side if you reheat them without the tomato sauce, but that may just come down to personal preference. The feta salad, hummus, tabouli, and green beans with tomato sauce are all delish! Honestly, everything I’ve ever had there has been great :-) I highly recommend you give them a go if you enjoy Middle Eastern cuisine & find yourself in or near the Methuen area. Remember, it’s a market not a restaurant, but they do have daily specials & a some counter-top seating in the store.

Wow, I can’t believe how close I always am to this place but I have NEVER been! Well let me tell you, I totally would have forgotten if I hadn’t gotten my car serviced in Lawrence and someone asked if there was a BofA around, so of course I used my Unilocal app and spotted something BETTER! KORBANI’S! So it was REALLY easy to get to off 495, its probably a minute or two down rt 110. I got there and yes, there is parking. I was nervous about whether or n ot there would be. Inside was different than other markets I’ve been in, it wasn’t cluttered and overwhelming and everyone was happy to help. I immediately spotted their pita, I got whole wheat and it was really fresh and soft. Then I made my way to the prepared foods and got a little of everything: Meat stuffed grape leaves: Delicious! Would get them again. Hummus: Delicious! Should have bought two large containers. It was a little thinner that others out there but this is the way I like it. Baked Kibbeh: YUM! I really enjoyed this a lot, very lemony and nice but not overwhelming. Tabbouleh: Bright green, lemony and fresh. Kinda wish I saw the red lentil version but I didn’t til I was done ordering. Baba ghanouj: was good… but it needed something, not sure what. Meat Pie: YES Spinach Pie: YESSSS! Lima beans in tomato sauce: DOITAGAIN! So clearly I liked everything I had there and will now make this one of my stops every once in a while and you probably should too.

We popped in here to pick up some middle eastern goodness. I got some fresh and still warm pita bread that the family is still enjoying. It was good to see things that are hard to find — like Ghazi Isfahan which is a rose water nougat candy with pistachios from Iran(or made in Californian, now) and something we call Nazook(forget what they called it). We also compared and contrasted two different versions of sumsum. One was a crispy one and the other was not — finally I now know what Frannie was trying to find at the store near me. Our version is tahini hatz(tahin bread) and is thicker. I think I prefered the crispier version but both were yummy. Since I live in Watertown, there is nothing here that I can not get at the Armenian or Middle Eastern markets at home, although some items were slightly cheaper. Still, it was fun to come in and see all the yumminess.
