Ordered take out online and they missed one of our orders so we had to go back and get the other dish. Also DONOT order the shrimp — safe to say I was sick the rest of the night because of it. Members of my family have actually gotten sick from the seafood there before but it was years ago, I was clearly dumb enough to give it a shot.

Everything comes out with a layer of American cheese on it… even the menu items that say they don’t have«queso dip» on top get a mysterious, plasticy helping of congealed American cheese. My husband got enchiladas and one was a cheese enchilada – filled with american cheese! It was horrible. The rice also tastes off. I wouldn’t wish this place on anyone!

If we had just had table side guac and drinks, this would probably have been a four star rating. The entrées were such a disappointment after such a good appetizer and margaritas. It wasn’t too busy, but we still had to wait a while for service. Not terrible service, just a bit of a wait to get our drinks, and then a bit of a wait to see the waitress again after the entrées were brought out. The desserts looked like they’d be tasty in the display case, but after such a disappointing meal I just wanted to leave. The fajita salad was atrocious. The steak in both entrées we ordered was a horrible, terrible quality, I was literally trying to choke it down. The fajita salad was basically a bed of lettuce and a couple of chopped up vegetables. Overall, kind of a disappointment. I’m surprised this place isn’t in Dracut.

I love the mild Tacos salad in a shell. Their Margarita’s are the best in the area. Atmosphere and décor is Mexican and Spanish. Love the servers. They are very pleasant, entertaining, and always ready to explain the dish and make it «your» way.

I was at the restaurant last night 4÷30÷16. I have been there many times previously, but the first time for my fiancée. I used to love this place but… We sat down and were subjected to a large group that were extremely loud and vulgar. Loud profanities and vulgarities flowed from them and ruined our dinner. My fiancée went to the desk and asked for the manager to address this. The staff went to the table and told them the woman in the corner complained about them. From that point on, we were pointed at and ridiculed and the vulgarities and loudness did not tone down. On the way out, we stopped by the desk again to express our displeasure. We were shown a note from another patron — on the back of a receipt — that expressed the same displeasure. We asked to speak with the manager and explained what we were subjected to, how we were now concerned since that drunk party(the restaurant served them TOO much) knows who we are and we are going into the parking lot. He said he was surprised at what we are telling him. I told him that it is his job to head these behaviors off before another patron complains. I said we did not see him once during the evening until he was asked for. I told him that we were forced to have to intervene on his behalf to his staff to get this atmosphere corrected. As we were talking to the manager, the large group being complained about were mocking and waiving to us — they won. We told the manager that we will not be coming back. His management skills are lacking and you have lost us as customers and others(as the note shown to us said) — and however more tables that did not bother even saying anything.

Dined on a Friday afternoon a little after 2 pm. We were seated in the bar area which had some patrons by definitely not«busy». Our waitress came over fairly quickly to take our drink orders(water) and my friend and I decided to start with the table side guacamole and take a few minutes to decide on our lunch. A different waiter came over with the guacamole cart to prepare our guac. The guac was delicious though my friend thought it had a little too much lime. The chips are thick and excellent! Our lunch entrees arrives shortly. We decided to share the La Flaca Salad with Shrimp. The raspberry balsamic dressing was great and about 5 shrimp were grilled with a BBQ like sauce. We also ordered the San Miguel — 3 chicken enchiladas stuffed with mashed potatoes and chorizo with rice and beans. The San Miguel was disappointing. It as dry and the chicken overcooked. Rice and beans were okay. The most disappointing experience of our lunch was the presentation of our coupon to our waiter. It read Buy One Lunch Menu Item, Get One Half Off, Monday-Friday, 11 am — 3 pm. We arrived at 2:15 pm and were given one menu. It was our first time here for lunch and one would think since it wasn’t quite 3 pm, we were given the lunch menu??? Apparently what we ordered was not from the«lunch menu» so the coupon was not valid. We didn’t look at the very back page of the 4 – 6 page menu so perhaps the lunch menu was listed on the back cover??? Total tab excluding tip about $ 38. Best part: the guoc. Worst part: the dry San Miguel and not honoring our coupon.

I absolutely love Azteca! Their drinks are amazing, the guac is to die for and I’ve never had a bad meal. My best friend and I go here a couple times a month at least and we always share the Fried Ice Cream dessert, it’s plenty for two and absolutely scrumptious. They’re also good for large groups as I have had many work outings here that generally have at least 15 people.

Cold salsa and chips. Salsa was out of a can and the substandard chips were out of a bag. Day old fajitas. The worst Mexican food I have ever had. Do not recommend.

Update! I’ve been back here a few times since my original post and I have to say I think the first experience was a one off bad experience. Since then, I’ve ordered the«Beeritas» a few times and those are DELICIOUS. I have also gotten the chipotle enchiladas which were very spicy but delicious! I took off one star bc the service is admittedly not the best. The staff is very nice, they’re just a little slow. But it’s a busy establishment so ya can’t knock that. It’s become a regular haunt for me– glad I gave it another chance!

A tiny bit pricey for Mexican, and this isn’t particularly authentic. But it’s tasty and the portions are large. Decent drinks, nice facility that is often busy, unless you can get there mid-afternoon. Don’t know if it’s a chain, but it seems like just a slight step up from a Margarita’s. Not quite as good food as Mexico Lindo, but the access and parking are better, and the bar is much larger. I still prefer Café Azteca in Lawrence, but lunch service there can be slow to nonexistent. No real bar there, either. If I have business on that end of Route 28(right across the street from Lowe’s), I would stop in if it doesn’t look too busy. Probably would opt for the Texas Roadhouse nearby, though, all things being equal.

If u want a good magarita DONOTGOHERE. I have given this place the benefit of the doubt a number of times but I am done. Everytime I go there I have to monitor the amount of alcohol that goes into my drink. At 15 dollars for a double patron magarita there should be 2 shots of patron in it. There never is. This time I watched the waitress short the drink and called her. out on it and she had the nerve to argue with me. 1st time in my entire life I have left NO Tip. If u want a good magarita in that area go to Mi Mexico Lindo.

Tough night! Seems kitchen staff aren’t using seasoning tonite. And I have been sitting with an empty margaritas for about 12 minutes… hmm que’ pasa! Usually great Still sitting here 15 minutes later and glass is still empty. Server just stopped. Let’s see how long for the bill…

First off, this is a Wednesday night and not much traffic in the restaurant. I asked for a Hornito Jamaican with no salt. This drink is so sour since they didn’t use lime juice, they used sour mix. Also I noticed the bar staff on there smart phones. Another thing is the fresh nachos. FRESH.??, not even close to fresh since they smell like fish or some other sort of food. Just ordered the fresh guacamole and that is great. But the chips are smothered in oil and have a funky smell to them. I just asked for my drink to be remade and they offered to do this without a question. Very nice of our waitress. Karyne has been great. Store #2 in MA, Baldo is the manager and I am waiting to speak to him.

We go to the Plaza quite regularly and we love Karen our regular waitress. The menu has changed and some of the items listed they no longer have such as the green tomatillo salsa, which is very disappointing. The need to update the menu and order new ones. The chips are flavorless. Many can be over fried and oily and no salt at all. WE still the guac and many dishes like the shrimp salad, chicken and rice, and Texas fajitas for 2. George the bartender rocks and his drinks are incredible! Both managers, Baldo and Enrique are very nice and work hard to get the crowds seated and the food out. The men’s needs more attention than it is getting and the wicker basket to place used towels is in terrible shape and needs to be replaced.

Now this is the place to go if you’re in the mood for a margarita and fresh guacamole made tableside! Their other food is better than the average Mexican restaurant, but having lived in San Diego and knowing more authentic Mexican food, I just couldn’t give a 5 star rating. But this is hands down my favorite margarita joint! Yummm!

Plaza Azteca has poor customer service. Last night at dinner there was weak service, forgettable food, empty drinks and all round non-existent management. We had an issue with service last night and management should have simply tried to make an effort to make it right. Plaza Azteca is seriously lacking in the service department and does not deserve your dining dollars when so many places happily communicate with guests, deal with concerns, listen to complaints, and try to make customers feel welcome and appreciated. Mix ups happen; good restaurants try and work for your patronage… not a Plaza Azteca.

Plaza Azteca really impressed me at first but each subsequent visit has left me feeling like I should have gone to Mi Mexico Lindo or Tacos Lupita instead. Their most recent decision to remove my favorite Mexican dish from the menu is the final nail. Mole enchiladas people. God’s gift to the world. And they don’t serve it anymore. Hey, I won’t knock this place into 1 or 2 star territory. Service is good, Guac is great and if you want a burrito with chicken and chorizo smothered in queso then this place will still fit the bill. fail(c’mon. mole people. mole).

This restaurant is literally on the line between Salem, NH and Metheun, MA. The menu is very basic and has most of the«standard» Mexican dishes on it. Like most if not all Mexican restaurants they are known for their drinks. I have seen people get drinks that are severed in glasses that could pass as a small bathtub. The staff members are all very friendly and on the weekend or a busy night they use a pager system so that you can loiter around until your table is ready. The reason I am giving it 3 stars and not 4 is that the bathroom is ALWAYS a disaster. Actually, it is gross on most nights even if the place is not busy when I get there.

This Plaza Azteca is located on the MA/NH line. It has its own parking lot. but because the place gets packed during peak times, you’ll be hard pressed to find a spot. Good thing that there’s valet! Not sure if it’s free or not… but I like that there’s the option. My H, infant daughter and I came in for a nice meal after watching Furious 7. We’ve been to this chain SOOOOO many times in CT and didn’t even need to look at the menu. My H ordered the San Jose burrito and I ordered the taco sampler. Both meals were ok… Manchester and Newington made better versions of the same dang meal. Our waiter was nice enough. I’m not sure how many tables he had, but he was barely around when my H or I needed refills on our soda/water. He’s probably not indicative of other waiters. but this was our experience. Hopefully next time will be better.

This place is always busy and it doesn’t surprise me. Their food is delicious. I sometimes get annoyed by how long you have to wait for dinner but it’s worth the wait. I love their damn chimichangas — I try to order new dishes but always go back to the same thing. Portions are always good. Their alcoholic drinks are on point. Oh and how can I forgot their sopapilla?! Even if I’m full, I still make room for it — super tasty dessert that reminds me of fried dough but much lighter. The atmosphere is big, ornate and festive. I def recommend Plaza Azteca!
