I just returned from a visit to Sleepy’s where I was shopping for a mattress on behalf of my mother in NY State. I was hoping I could have one shipped. I have to report on the excellent customer service I received from the sales person, Adrian Arias. Adrian was very knowledgeable about the best mattress option to fit our needs and went out of his way to investigate the possibility of having it delivered and set up in her home. It is hard to find good employees and I know Sleepy’s has found one in Adrian. Thank you for making my shopping experience a good one.

My wife recently purchased a mattress set from Sleepy’s in Methuen, MA. She was charged $ 449 for a full-sized entry-level set, plus $ 29 for«delivery to store», having been told the item was not in stock. Before I went to pick up the mattress, a quick Google search showed me that Sleepy’s advertises the very same mattress set online for just $ 389. When I arrived at the store, I told the manager I was interested in buying that set, and how much did they charge? Without hesitation, he told me $ 299. My wife had been charged 50% more than I was quoted just a few days later! Hard to believe. The item did not go on sale or special. I was further told that they had ‘plenty’ of those mattress sets in stock. The salesperson even showed me the range of prices that they are authorized to charge for standard bed frames — it ranged from $ 59 to $ 99. Lesson learned: Do not trust anything these sales people tell you. They are trained, or at the very least they are incentivized, to quote whatever price they believe you will accept. While I did walk away having corrected the price and was refunded the difference, I am writing this review to see that their sales practices are revealed publicly. Their price guarantee is a calculated bet that you don’t have the time or the information to call them on it.
