Marco’s Deli

I have to give a 3 for a few reasons .
They have a large menu & even some vegetarian options which is great. I ordered on grubhub. They called to let me know right away they would be arriving in about an hour they were a little busy. I thought it was great they did that at least to inform me .
I ordered a breakfast burrito & although it was okay, it was a little greasy and gave a taste of bacon. I am almost positive they use the same grill for everything or don’t wipe down properly after making something. That’s a big downfall for me, being a vegetarian I don’t want my food to taste like meat & with religious restriction eating definitely not bacon .
The mini salads were good, like the cucumber & tomato salad, potato salad & fruit salad were good .
They forgot my water. Thankfully we have a water machine at work, but I was charged for water & didn’t feel the need to call back and complain about a dollar charge. But water is all I drink so if I wasn’t at work with a water fountain this may have been an issue.

Great deli with good food and great prices. Ordered here a couple times now. Have only had the cold subs, potato salad and macaroni salad. Subs are really good and pretty big. Big doesn’t always mean better but in this case it does. The sub rolls have a nice crust and soft on the inside. They always give a generous portion of meat but not so much that it overpowers the sandwich. The meat, cheese, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, oil and vinegar are perfectly balanced, fresh and high quality. The potato and macaroni salad are also very good but on the plain side. This is probably by design because everyone has different tastes in terms of whether things like carrots, celery, onion, bell pepper, relish, etc should be added. Although plain still tasted great. Had just the right amount of vinegar to give it that tang. If I had to nitpick the macaroni was maybe a little overcooked for my taste as I like my macaroni al dente but the potatoes were cooked perfect. Definitely will be my go to place for subs.

…I went late on a Saturday morning, so I don’t know how busy this place could potentially get Monday through Friday, prior to work. It’s a small establishment, but has all your basics for breakfast and/​or lunch. They use Boar’s Head brand for their sandwich meats/​cheeses. I ordered a typical breakfast sandwich and they processed the order in 3 minutes. The bread was Kaiser, although they have plenty of other choices. It was fresh, my eggs were also cooked to order and the bacon was spot on. I was in and out in under 5 minutes and you can even call ahead, or place your order direct through this app. So, if you are in Metuchen, and don’t feel like sitting or ordering through a diner… I highly advise you order from here. They are fast, friendly and reasonably priced. Enjoy!

Subs: Very good. Fresh bread. Soft, but not flimsy, and it absorbs the meat/​cheese/​dressing well. Meats/​cheese are good quality, they’re serving mostly Boars Head products, and when they put dressing, lettuce, mayo, tomato etc on the sandwhich it’s just enough, not overwhelming.
Breakfast: This was quite excellent. The buster belly is really good. I’ve had similar sandwhiches before, but in almost every scenario it turned into a mess while eating it with the egg/​meat sliding out, but not at Marco’s Deli. The roll is firm, but soft enough where you can bite into it without resistance.
Prices: Great prices. About 7 $ for a 14 inch sub and 4.50 for a belly buster breakfast sandwhich. Looking at their menu, their egg sandwhiches are slightly cheaper than most places, and they offer an egg sandwhich + coffee for 2.67. A bottle of water is an affordable one dollar.
Overall: Well run business that is pumping out tasty, fresh, and big sandwhiches at an affordable price. I’m glad they’re around and they appear to be doing well. As it currently stands, I think they’re best deli in a 10 minute radius, and there are many deli’s around, so hopefully Marco’s Deli keeps up the good work.

Marco runs a fantastic deli with a wide selection of fresh foods and very friendly service. He and his staff are efficient and have often gone above and beyond to meet my requests. They maintain terrific hours open at times others are not. And even handle deliveries in a timely fashion. A great place!

This is a great local deli run by a hard working Italian-​American family. They have a great deal for an egg and cheese on a hard roll with a coffee for like $ 2.67. Any time I am rolling down Main Street Metuchen I stop in and get myself some good grub.
Give Marco your business and you will not be disappointed.

I stopped by here to grab a quick small sub for my drive up to Martha’s Vineyard. I got a 6 inch sub with a drink for about $ 6 or $ 7 which is completely reasonable. I think I also got a small bag of chips too. They were fast and the sub was very fresh and tasty! I would definitely come back if I need a quick bite to eat! Clean place and friendly staff. If I want a cheesesteak or specialty sub I’m still going to Sub Place Better, but if I want something quick this is ten times better then ⁷⁄₁₁!

I was so sad when the deli before Marco’s closed but so so happy when Marco’s opened! And especially that it is open on Sundays :) :)
Basic deli with good tasting fare. Very professional and clean, just not the most friendly (nothing bad!!! Just like the idea of a deli around the corner getting to know you as you visit weekly!)

I called an order in for delivery. This was the first time my coworker and I tried the deli. We received a menu from a worker of the deli who walked in and gave it to us. When I called the woman who answered she had a horrible attitude and told us first, it would be an hour until delivery. After I ordered everything I told her I wanted to use my credit card and she proceeded to say «I will have to call you back I don’t have time for that right now.» Her tone of voice said it all. I called back and cancelled and tore up the menu. We didn’t even get to try the food. We work in the service of people at our job and would never treat a customer like that no matter how overwhelmed and stressed we are. They lost customers because she couldn’t keep her cool.

I have ate here on a number of different occasions and i have yet to be disappointed.
I’ve had the Cheseburger, soup of the day, Pork Roll Egg and Cheese, Grilled Chicken, and Sloppy Joe Reuben.
Everything was great and I highly recommend the Sloppy Joe Reuben.

Had the chance to go back and try a bacon egg and cheese on a bagel. At around 10am on a saturday, the bagel selection was limited and they didn’t have everything bagels. When my bagel was being bagged, the guy doing the bagging bled all over the bag and said passively «I knew I cut myself.» They rebagged my food so there wasn’t blood on it, but I was a little freaked out that blood was involved at all. The sandwich itself looked fine so I ate it. The eggs were well cooked but the bacon was overdone and crunchy. Overall, that experience was a 2. I’ll stick to bagel pantry for breakfast.
Next time, I ordered delivery and got the super Italian sub. This was really good. Lots of meat tightly fit inside the roll. The bread was soft, which is not my favorite, but it held everything in as I ate so this didn’t turn into a mess. Overall, I’d rate this a 4. In town, I’d come here over sub place better, but prefer Craig’s Deli II if they are open.

Really great service-​fast and friendly, good prices, and delicious food. The BLT is phenomenal! Plus they’re on GrubHub now, which is especially convenient for marathon study sessions!

Gotta say, I was a little disappointed in my lunch today. Ordered thru grub hub and got my order wrong. But I called and they made a new one and sent it right over. Weird part was– they asked for the other sandwich I had opened and touched back. What are they going to do with that sandwich? Maybe he was hungry…

Food is great, affordable prices, friendly atmosphere. Definitely recommended!!!

This deli recently opened up, but I’m already a fan! Great service, affordable prices and the sandwiches are usually pretty good. Only minor tidbit is the $ 10 min on credit cards. Otherwise I definitely recommend.

So far so good! I live pretty close and decided to check it out for breakfast yesterday. It did not disappoint. The lady at the counter was really nice, as well. Definitely going back to try their subs sometime soon.

Only deli in this part of Metuchen that does breakfast. The owner Marco seems like a nice guy. Boars Head cold cuts which are not too common out here. Food is good and fresh. They have a couple outside tables too if you want t eat outside

My wife and I live in Metuchen and were excited to see that Marco’s had opened after the previous Deli that was there left, we went today for the first time and were not disappointed at all! We each got a sub (an egg salad one and a turkey/​cheese w/​colesaw + russian dressing) and they were both delicious. Everyone working there was super friendly, the prices were affordable and there was a large selection on the menu + a variety of drinks to choose from. They use Boars Head meat which is obviously the best and everything was very fresh and the environment was extremely clean and welcoming. They also sell lottery tickets which is a great bonus and cigarettes if that’s your thing. We were also very happy that they take cards and were not cash only like the previous deli that was there. All around great experience and we can’t wait to go back frequently! Welcome to town!
