I am OBSESSED with Amnesia. As a fellow semi club-rat and huge EDM fan this place has EVERYTHING you could ever want. Big ass dancefloor, a great view no matter where you are and of course LOTSANDLOTS of beautiful lights. I’ve come here so many times, but my favorite time was for Group Therapy with Above&Beyond. What a magical night man. We were to the side and I still felt as if I was right up in the booth with them. The crowd that night wasn’t as obnoxious and pushy as they usually are(trance events are the best imho) and everyone was really happy to be there(due to drugs or otherwise). I’ve been here for more upbeat events(Joachim Garraud, Tommy Trash etc.) and the crowd does get really packed. I suggest buying tickets or being heavily networked, it could be a pain in the butt to get in at times depending on who’s playing that night. If you expect drinks to be cheap as you’re walking in you’re obviously on some amazing drugs because drinking here is NOTCHEAP. I get drunk off of one of their blue long islands but that’s just me. I paid $ 18 for that one drink but I was set for quite some time. Bring all your friends, ALLOFTHEM and you’ll have the best time I swear. P.S– for some reason i feel as if the floor of the entrance is SUPER uneven so be careful in those heels. The dance floor is perfectly flat though and quite massive.

I came here to see Sebastian Ingrosso for WMC2012& although the water bottles were $ 10& Ingrosso(as well as Alesso) blew out the speakers multiple times, & the AC broke, the lights and the music were so incredible that i really didn’t even care. You have to really love house to not be bothered by the fact that the speakers blew out so many times & the AC broke. I have to admit that they fixed them very quickly but they did blow out a few times. The dress code is more upscale than a regular dance club and they did let in alot of guys that night but it was entry through prepurchased tickets. I would definetly come back for a DJ that i really enjoy because the dancefloor and sound system is incredible(less the speakers being blown out) & the lights are some of the best ive seen in a club.

As far as «super clubs» go in Miami, this is one of my favorites. Amnesia does what the name promises: from the minute you walk in the door to the moment you finally pour yourself into a cab, you’ll forget absolutely everything else. The build out reminds me of someone’s(very large) villa — complete with stone steps, scattered leather sofas, and palm trees. But don’t let this demeure description fool you. The expansive dance floor and overhanging VIP section hold thousands of people and give you the potential to literally get lost in the music and lights in a sea of anonymity.

Maybe it was passing the crowd and getting right in for free. or the endless bottles, shiny glow sticks, or just DJ Wolfgang Gartner. but this probably is hands down my favorite club in Miami! I love the super club feel, the music, the crowd, the music. All in all night life is night life. it’s all about who you are with and I had the best time of my life. Can’t wait to come back and relive it all over again.

really??? REALLLY??? Looking at the low reviews on this club make me think… shit. i did NOT explore miami enough while being here As the taxi pulled up to the club when I came here and I caught my first glimpse of the club. I was slightly in awe. A nice white building(contrasted by the more clammered and overlively bars next to it) lit up by blue fluorescent lights gave the a club the immediate feeling of(this shits gonan be BANK while at the smae time. this is cla$$$$y) I immediately worried that my tickets would not work at the front, yes i’ve been to vegas one too many times wihtout ratio. Thankfully, getting in was no problem and we entered a kind of warehouse like small room which immediately got me worried. my friend opened the first door that was near us to find the entrance to the club. Stepping up, I felt like one of the kids that had just entered jurassic park.(this shit was CRAY) haha hot babes just strolling around(not really strolling) more like getting pushed around because it was PACKED, MUSICBLASTING, and lights shining all over the place. We immediately headed upstairs to get the first round of drinks. This is where I dock my first star. the drinks here are extremely pricey! They are Los Angeles level prices I think a round for me and my friends 7 people came out to be liek 110 – 120. *BUZZKILL* After that I blacked out. but it was fun and everyone should come here. (not really, but I’m just tooo lazy to summarize the rest of my night)

NEVERAGAIN, Tickets were oversold. Fire Marshals had to shut down the event. As soon as the Fire Marshals left they started letting in people again. That’s cool and all… BUTTHEYDIDN’T EVENCAREIFYOUHADTICKETS!!! I Saw one of the bouncers take a 2 grand bribe for 7 people. These are the type of clubs I can’t afford to go to… I would have just gone else where.

Spent my first time there for my favorite DJ in the world, so i will try to not allow that to bias my review :) We had tickets for the DJ, but i was still expecting a disaster for entrance. Fear not, we walked right in while those w/out tickets were left to fight for their way in. Once in, I was pleasantly surprised. The remodel from Opium/Prive days kicks ass and allowed for a pretty awesome view of the main stage/DJ booth. Waiting in line for drinks wasn’t too much of a struggle, and prices were average south beach. The crowd was better than expected too, more late 20s than early 20s(well from where i was perched) which always makes me feel slightly better. One thing i will never understand is the complete lack of bathrooms. From what i saw, there was one on the 2nd floor that was tiny, and a slightly larger one on the first floor. Better than some clubs in MIA, but still a mess.

I am torn on my experience with Amnesia. I am reading these reviews of people hating it and people diggin’ it, seems like if you are used to the«normal» club in MIA, you probably won’t dig this place. However, if you need a break from the uptight, VIP only clubs in MIA, this is your spot. I know LIV recently took over this place and will be working on improvements but I really hope they don’t just turn it into another LIV. Yes, LIV is gorgeous, but the VIP only trend is frustrating for those who don’t have $$$$ to throw down just to go dance. I appreciate LIV for what it is, but, not each place needs to be like this. Melanie L is correct in saying that they let MANY men in, it was one of the first things Elizabeth F and I noticed when entering, so many DUDEBROS. But, if it’s a sign that they just want people in so they can have a good time, I am all for that. The venue is HUGE which is awesome but they did PACK them in. Not to the point where we were on top of eachother, which was a nice change, but it was a chore to hit up the bathroom or bar. There are various bars around the entire venue which is nice. There are two main levels with VIP sprinkled throughout. I am VERY thankful that the VIP areas did not take up the main dancefloor, that was refreshing. There are cheesy neon signs all over and it’s not extremely posh, but who cares. I was there to dance and I did just that. I do wish there were more bathrooms scattered throughout, it was a pain making it all the way to the back each time. The screens and DJ set up was cool and of course, KASKADE, rocked it! Overall, I would totally hit this place up again, I liked the laid back atmosphere. Water was $ 8 which seems to be a MIA staple. Sucks.

Went last night to see Kaskade. It was a mad house crazy ass party. Our friend had a table inside and he came out the the door to get us. Well he didn’t «consult» with the bouncer and the bouncer got pissed. He’s like«Do you own this club, if you do then let me see your contracts and then you can start letting people in at the door» SUPERRUDE. It was alright, didn’t feel very comfortable as the tables are right on top of each other and there is no where to stand/dance. Will not be returning. Dont’ understand how people think this is the best club in Miami. If I had to choose a favorite it would be Mynt. Can’t get enough! Photo:

I seriously cannnnot believe that anyone gave this 5 stars!!! It blows my mind. This club is DISGUSTING from the top to the bottom. Everything about this club is all wrong STARTING with the door. I’m sorry but if you are a club that let’s in 20GUYS20202020!!! YES I SWEAR20GUYS all in at once, you should just immediately shut your doors. Liv now bought this club and is taking it over but the management is still trash, the door is run even more horribly than Liv’s door(which is almost impossible to do) and this club is a disgrace for Miami nightlife. The door lets EVERYONE in. Yes if you wait long enough, you will get in and drink shitty liquor with Bacardi and Grey Goose cheesy signs hung all over. You will dance on a floor that is broken tile so if you are wearing heels, GOODLUCK. You will be surrounded by douchebags in every aspect who will spill their drinks all over you and you can’t see who they are because everyone is wearing sunglasses. The«VIP» section is a joke. How in the world do you seat VIP in the middle of the room and literally put a fence around them. I don’t see how anyone would enjoy to spend money at this dump. The VIP is so out of place. They have a second floor with a random bar sometimes two random bars. The opening few nights of this club it was HOTHOTHOT. The location was shitty as hell as well as the club but the crowd made it bearable. Now, the crowd is terrible and the location already looks like it’s been open for 100 years yet it just opened like 2 months ago. If you are a random weirdo who bought some ticket online for $ 20 bucks, they will let you in. There is nothing that Liv could ever do to this club that will revamp it other than bulldoze the place and start fresh.

I like clubs, well let’s be honest, I love clubs. I have been many times to sobe so I know many sites but I was glad when my friend told me we were going to try a new club we have never been. Amnesia is pretty big to start with a large dancefloor, vip tables surronding(a bit elevated) and a second floor which gives you a great bird-view while you can get few minutes of rest(if needed lol). Cover is the standard $ 20 unless you want table or go with promoter. Staff is indeed very professional which is becoming very rare in this industry so I am glad to see all the reviews that can attest of it. Prices are sobe prices so you know it. DJ was good that day(Friday), electro only. That one night, it seems like a lot of kids from UMiami were there. Not sure if it is usual or not. Therefore, it seems younger and a bit more«casual» than the usual sobe crowd. Overall this was a great night!

Showed up with a group of guys and girls. We were told outside that the girls could enter for free, but that guys would have to pay $ 20 to get in. That’s pretty standard and nothing a club visitor would complain about. However, that’s where the typical club experience ended. Amnesia forced the guys and girls to split up before entering. Girls went in through one door, guys went in through another. The guys were then told, in a small dark room, that the price to get in was now $ 30. When I said to the cashier that the price repeatedly quoted outside was only $ 20, and that ‘bait-and-switch’ tactics are illegal(in Florida, they’re outlawed under the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act), I was told that the price was always $ 30 and that I was wrong. I turned around and asked every other person in the cashier room what they were told the price was, and every single one of them said $ 20. When I turned back to the cashier and reiterated that this was a ‘bait-and-switch’ and that if he didn’t want to break the law he had to honor the $ 20 heavily advertised outside the club, he physically put his hands on me, forcibly turned me around to the door, and yelled«find the person who told you it was $ 20». At this point, our girlfriends were already inside the club, and we were not allowed access to them without paying the new price of $ 30(which seems a lot like a ransom situation to me). So, I did what any other person would have to do in that situation: I gave the guy $ 30, went into the club, found my girlfriend, and left. I will not be back. * Bait and switch tactics are also illegal under federal law, specifically violating section 5 of the FTC Act and its prohibitions on «deceptive acts or practices». You can review the Federal Trade Commission’s Policy Statement on Deception, which has been published since 1983, here: . Official complaints will be filed with the FTC, Florida Attorney General’s Office, and BBB.

This club is «just right» in every sense. From the doormen not being jerks or hassling you to get in, to the layout and excellent sound system. The vip area is not smack dab in the dance floor like some other clubs, there’s plenty of space to dance, order your drink, or just sit and chill out. The LCD screens are spiffy and the sound system is top notch. The crowd isn’t stuffy and snobby like some of the other clubs by the beach. I really can’t wait to come back here.

I am amazed on how perfect this club has exceeded it’s full potential on becoming a perfect club. As a clubber, and DJ, Amnesia has the perfect volume level, perfect sound distribution around the club(Up-stairs perfect chat volume, downstairs louder but still could talk and the loudest, which isn’t that loud, on the dance floor.) Lights are flashing every angle from all corners and the LED Screens that move… Flashtastic! It has 3 bars and the table reservations has many different locations to sit at and non of them in the way of the dance floor. The prices vary depending on the DJ or night, but the bouncers are not«evil» if you already bought your tickets or make the line. The will let you in immediately(with ticket) or they move the line rather quick(since I didn’t see that many people outside compared to other clubs with«evil» bouncers. The place is big and fun to walk around and take pics. Wally Lopez sure did rock Da Tech-House and I’ll be sure to go back again! If I were to recommend a club for anyone in Miami, it would be Amnesia.

friday night, wally lopez pinchando, friend of mine tells me about it so i buy tix online. got to amnesia a bit after midnight. theres a small crowd of people around the velvet rope. we go to the other door and tell another bouncer that we already have tickets and wanna come in. bouncer there tells us to go back to the velvet rope. thats when i thought getting in was going to be a mission but luckily it wasnt. i approached one of the bouncers and told him we have tickets and he asked us to show him the tickets. oh wow. really making sure were not trying to sneak in. clever. so when we go in and theres another small crowd of drunks by the cashier, i skipped them and i gave her my print out. she gave me a card which i then gave to the last bouncer before the last door to get into the main room. interesting system if you ask me, but the girl just took my print out and gave me the card immediately. not that i would do this but… if tickets dont get scanned, i could have easily made 100 copies and 100 people would have gone in, no questions asked. i figure someone needs to tell amnesia this or just tell the bouncer by the velvet rope to chill out. right? sound system and lights were good. dancers all around. interesting set up. the bartenders were quick to deliver and the crowd was less douchy than i thought possible on a friday night at a club that opened up recently.

I totally had fun at this place. BUT. We probably had more fun than most because 1) we had enough people in our group to make getting a table worth the money 2) our waitress spilled half a bottle so we got another full one for free 3) we didn’t have to wait in the general admission area because of said table. Before we decided on a table however, we stood outside in the NON-existent line trying to get the bouncers to let us in. DUDE. The door guys here were loving themselves way too much. And granted there were a lot of people there who already had tickets because it was a big name DJ. I get that. But when it came to letting groups in without tickets they were choosing people randomly with no system whatsoever. You just had to get the door guys’ attention and then kiss booty until they let you in. Seriously I didn’t realize we were back in the 80s when that was ok. Also we had 2 guys and 4 girls in our group which according to Miami standards should have helped. It didn’t. Also noted, the ladies bathroom upstairs near the table had 3 stalls for ALL those people and in the middle of our stay one of them stopped working so then there were 2. REALLY? And hubby told me the men’s bathroom had like a couple of stalls and a trough. GROSS. Not the way you get people to come back for the money you are asking them to pay. I would go back here because the space itself was awesomely decorated and they seem to get good names to perform. Also once we were inside the service was good and they put on a decent show. But there definitely need to be some operational changes if they want to stay popular for long.

First time in Miami this weekend, visiting from DC. So I was a little confused by the whole selection of people getting in. No line? You just stand around in a messy crowd and get pointed at to go in. DOYOUKNOWWHO I AM??? Ha. But seriously. I hate pretensious crap like that. You’re a bouncer. Know your place in the world. I was with a large group of people, maybe 60% men. They opted to get a table, actually two. But we were already in the regular entry doorway and there is another entrance for bottle service. Blah blah blah. We’re about to drop serious money on some tables and we have to walk in and out again? Horrible customer service. Finally we’re in, get our two tables, next to two losers at another table trying to be ballers. They’re pulling in skank after skank and have them sit at our table. I go to our hostess and she says ‘I asked them to move but they didnt, what else can I do?‘ For serious? Is this how Miami does it? DC bottle service girls would have taken care of it before I noticed skanks in my area. So table service, not impressive. I wish we had just paid to get in and dealt with the bartenders. The club itself is warehouse style. Huge, great house music, lights, weird men on stilts walking around and being creepy. You have to be wasted or on something to enjoy this place. I prefer places that I can enjoy sober so I’ll be blown away when I have a couple of drinks. But that’s just me. If you’re used to the club scene and aren’t easily impressed, I wouldn’t get too excited about this spot. It’s nothing special.
