Literally always come here when I need costume wear/«rave» wear, perfect for burning man attire. Owners are always very helpful but its a little pricey which is to be expected for South Beach.

I passed by after visiting WEAM and I just love this place. I’ve been one other time a year or two ago and bought a masquerade mask. The place is a little hole in the wall, but from floor to ceiling it’s filled with all sorts of costume goods. I absolutely love their selection of masks. particularly their selection of luchador(wrestler) masks! The masks are pretty fairly priced I think. Definitely a hidden gem in the city.

i love this place. They have fun, funky, over-the-top items you can wear year round for any occasion you want to take it up a notch, like even just your birthday! Its full of statement pieces. Wigs, colored contacts, Indian headdresses, eyes wide shut mask. They also stay open very late some nights until 11 or midnight! Owners are very nice.

This is my new favorite go-to store for all my entertainment needs! I came here with one thing on my checklist and ended up leaving with three things in my shopping bag haha. They have everything you can think of in a bundle of varieties, from head pieces, booty shorts in 4 – 5 different cuts, an abundance of shoes in many styles, lashes, pasties, costumes for men, dancer tights, costumes, fetish wear, you name it! This little store is awesome and even carries some of the most gorgeous bedazzled bras I’ve seen thus far. The service is incredibly friendly and they also give discounts to certain entertainment companies, which is awesome for someone like me who went here in desperate last minute need for white gogo boots! I ended up getting white booth shorts with a scrunch back(only $ 20, not bad for the quality!), and dramatic lashes. I will definitely be coming back for more dancer essentials

I called Beatnix because I needed a quick wig and mustache for a costume for my husband who was in a skit at a conference in Miami Beach. They put together a wig and mustache on a head and sent me the pic of their creation and of the celebrity I was trying to imitate. My husband was not able to get there and pick it up and therefore we didn’t use it but they were great in putting something together and had several people involved in finding the items. Great service! Nice folks!

I came here the weekend before Halloween, looking for a crinoline for my costume. The store is small, zany and somewhat crowded, carrying everything from funky sunglasses to elaborate headdresses. While the sunglasses can cost as little as $ 5, the headdresses can be in the $ 200-$ 300 range. There were also Leg Avenue costumes, although a bit pricey in comparison with other stores’ Leg Avenue costumes. There were also loose items, like tutu skirts, trenchcoats, wings, and gold, sequined dresses that could easily be used for a flapper getup. I did find a crinoline, and although I felt bad that I made the store associates go to the back room and climb up to get it for me, I just did not want to pay $ 30 for what’s essentially an accessory, considering I could get a complete costume for $ 30 at Party City. On this particular day, apart from coming in search of a crinoline, I was also looking for vintage clothing from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, just to wear to work, going out, etc., not for purposes of a costume. I did not find too much, though some men’s shirts were rather groovy and could be considered unisex. Unfortunately, due to the maligned curse of being busty, I knew just from looking at them that there was no way they’d button up. Ugh! I am hoping that now that Halloween’s over, they will slowly bring back more of the vintage wear, since they’re a vintage store, after all. I assumed that due to Halloween, they put away their standard merchandise and just brought out the costumes, so I am hoping to now find a bigger vintage selection on my next visit. I will probably wait until the end of November though to give them enough time to re-stock, and I will keep my fingers crossed that the prices won’t be too unreasonable, despite the fact that it is South Beach and all.

Just like last year we waited until the last minute to look for costumes. We previously had gone to three other stores and found nothing. We had a certain idea in our head of what we wanted but was not successful in finding it. We came here out of desperation after we were looking for another store on Washington. They had some really cool costumes on the mannequins in the window. This was our last shot as this night was the only night we were able to shop. Alex approached us and was just oh so friendly and helpful. He tried so very hard and finding us costumes. Besides the great selection of vintage clothes, they had costumes in packages and some really high end costumes that you might find on a movie set. They also had a large selection of wigs which was perfect as we both needed them. They gave us a small discount for purchasing so much which was nice. When we got home we realized they had left out hubby’s pants, so we called they apologized and said they would hold them behind the counter. Next day we went back and they had them waiting for us. Three days later I realized I wanted to add a tutu to my costume so we ran over again. Alex recognized us and helped yet again to make me happy. He was wonderful. This is a very cool store with great service, great selection, but be ready to spend some money. Their prices are higher no question about it. Heck, sure you can find items less expensive but when you do not have the time to shop around thank goodness for this store. I was happy with our costumes with much thanks to Alex for all of the modification ideas. Check this great store out.

This store is really a gem! Friendly staff and very quirky merchandise. I bought a few odds and ends and can’t wait to use them on Halloween. They were reasonably priced and I had been searching all over to get my item– Beatnix was the only store that carried it.

I am very familiar with this store, and I think the previous Unilocaler got this store(Beatnix) confused with the one right next door(Pop) which sells ‘funny” T-shirts and novelty items. I would give Pop three stars too. But that mediocre little shop should NOT be confused with it’s neighbor, which is Beatnix, a five star establishment if there ever was one. Beatnix is a vintage store that sells funky hand made wigs and head pieces, vintage clothing, accessories, lingerie and shoes. They have elaborate masks that stagger the mind, authentic Vegas style feather head pieces, hand feathered angel wings hanging from the ceiling, full Tutu crinoline skirts, the coolest men’s vintage button downs I’ve ever seen… Fake eyelashes, glitter glue, belts, sunglasses, leggings, costumes, OHMAN I’m in heaven in this place. Everywhere you look there’s something else to see. The charming gays that run this store are fabulous, friendly, and make a lot of custom pieces themselves. Fierce! They had lady Gaga glasses that they made themselves last time I was there. The selection of wigs is amazing and the prices are right on. I have purchased all my wigs from this store, and I’m a wig freak. I LOVE to play dress up! They also have shoes, boots, and leg wear. This is one of the only places in Miami where you can buy danceskins products. They also have hand painted corsets, costumes, lingerie… this store can occupy me for hours, and anytime I need some obscure accessory to an outfit or costume, they have what I’m looking for.

Beatnix is a couple doors down from the Nightclub I work at and I go there at least twice a week. From the outside you wouldn’t even think this place looked kinda like a store full of junk. Athough, there is some junk… they have the BEST costumes and costume accessories. The whole entire staff is awesome and they can help me put together an fun costume in 10 minutes! If they dont have it in stock, they will show you a catalog and will order it for you asap. This place is perfect for people in the entertainment industry(especially go go dancers).

Very small shop along Washington. I stopped in because I was attracted to the display of Paul Frank items. Actually, I think most of what Paul Frank stock they had must have been in the store window. They only had a few more things in a glass display case inside and some t-shirts. The store also carried some Ugly Dolls. But the store seemed to be mostly«funny» t-shirts. Hm, I thought the era of funny wannabe vintage shirts was over. Overall, not a bad shop to stop in for a few minutes. The salesperson wasn’t too pushy.
