Sadly, this review stems from two words: not impressed. I wanted to love Cowshed and made the reservation months in advance. Miami Spas are some of the best and I thought Cowshed would be that and more… The entire spa was beautifully designed and decorated, but a bit cramped from the moment you enter the hallway up the spiral stairs… The locker rooms had one steam room and four rain showers with great products by Cowshed but two of them were out of order which doesn’t exactly scream luxury, but the ones that did work were great. The massage was average. The therapist was very professional and courteous making sure you’re comfortable the entire time, but I found myself just saying«uh huh», «yeah» after I realized I just wasn’t enjoying it as I should have. You can hear the traffic on Collins outside which is distracting, and the room is very bright which I didn’t enjoy. I prefer to almost hit sleep in a massage from being relaxed, and never got that here… Other than the therapists, the staff was a bit cold, and valet was $ 22? Yikes. Look for street parking and buy a mimosa instead!

I was not a huge fan of Cowshed when Soho originally opened but I recently gave it another shot and was happily surprised. The facilities are back up to where they should be. I really think it’s the most beautifully designed spa in Miami. What made the major difference was my amazing massage therapist, Tony. I’ve never had a better massage in my life, so HIGHLY recommend him. I’ll definitely be back!

Update… it’s 6 days later and her hair still smells burnt and is likely permanently damaged. It was even worse than we thought!

it’s really nice inside(chic and hip), but i’m not a fan of the having to be a member. why pay to go somewhere when there are great plenty of places you can go for free? i got a facial. it was pretty average. nice products. parking is hard to come by unless you want to pay valet.

Cowshed, as in the shed where you house cows. That’s the name of the spa at SoHo House. And, unless you’re a member or a guest, you won’t see the insides of this serene spa. Solution: Book yourself a room at SoHo House, because, friends, its worth the stay. Made entirely of reclaimed barn wood, Cowshed looks like a countryside farmhouse, giving it an anything-but-Miami feel. And it smells divine, too, thanks to the spa’s signature candles. Packed with lemongrass and lavender, thankfully, the spa’s shop is open to the public so everyone can enjoy the aroma packed into this wax. Inside Cowshed, find a blowout bar, an upstairs giftshop, lounge(complete with front porch swings for lounging), gym, steam room and five treatment rooms. There are also manis and pedi, facials, scalp massages and regular massages. And speaking of massages, this is where the bliss begins. Before your treatment, you’ll don a delish robe and your therapist will ask which scented oil you’d like to use for your treatment. I opted for an invigorating scent to kick off my 30-minute massage. Using deep pressure, my therapist worked out all the knots that have taken up permanent residence in my neck and shoulders. When she was finished, I felt renewed and … just as the oil advised … energized. And for the first time in a long time, those knots in my neck were at ease. The experience was divine, like a trip to the countryside, right here in Miami Beach. Who knew?
