Upon arriving, I was asked to fill out the typical papers that one has to fill out as a new patient. I have to be honest and say that when it came to signing the Privacy Policy receipt form, I did not sign it because I didn’t receive the privacy policy. I’m sure it was just an oversight. While in the waiting room, there was a woman who claimed to be a long time patient of that doctors office and she was upset that two patients were called ahead of her because she was there first and had been waiting. I was one of the two called ahead of her. Actually, I was seen almost immediately. However, I did take a mental note of the woman’s complaint. Once I was in the back waiting for Dr. Sandy Zambrano, a doctor who is apart of Dr. Merlino’s team, I overheard another woman complaining that she had been waiting to see the doctor for over an hour and had to leave because she had to pick someone up. I assume the doctor she was referring to was Dr. Merlino. That got me worried because I’ve been in situations before where, after waiting in the main waiting room, you’re called inside to wait in another waiting room. Once, at a different doctor’s office I was transferred to three different waiting rooms before I saw the nurse and then doctor. True story. Anyway, that didn’t happen to me, I saw Dr. Zambrano immediately. Of course, I’m taking into consideration that my appointment was early. The office opens at 9am and my appointment was at 10am and I got there just a few minutes early because I knew I would have to fill out paperwork. I was in and out in less than two hours and that was mainly because I couldn’t go number one right away. I ended up having to drink 32 ounces of bottled water(four eight ounce bottles) that they provided me in order to go number one. That took some time. Most importantly, at least to me, the staff was nice! The receptionist, the nurses and Dr. Zambrano were all nice. They were nice and accommodating. While I was drinking water in the second(inside) waiting room, the receptionist offered me the remote to the TV so that I could watch whatever I wanted as I waited. The nurses were friendly, patient and efficient. The were multitasking, handling a few patients at the same time and were consistently professional. The only complaint that I have at the moment is the parking costs at Mount Sinai is ridiculously expensive. For two hours I had to pay five dollars. Everyone says that the first impression is the most important and for me, it was good. I’ll continue to update whenever I go.

Never will go back to this office. Billing department is a desaster and staff is rude. Never pay your co-payment in CASH — will not be properly accounted for and you will receive a bill. When you call to verify and clarify the bill nobody can be reached or is available. Nobody calls you back and after a while you will be just put on hold. Office Manager doesn’t return your calls and is never available. You can’t leave messages(voice mail is full). … what are these people do with cash co-payments? …
