Gibbs Shoe Repair

I cannot stress the unbelievably horrific job Mr. Gibbs did on my heels! He destroyed, butchered my Louboutins that I only wanted the taps replaced. He ripped the fabric, slathered on this tacky adhesive that stained the heel, destroyed the sole. When asked if he would pay for his damage, initially he said yes and even signed a promissory note. When I returned for my money, he gave me the run around and this psycho unprofessional woman verbally attacked me with curse words and threats. He says he has insurance and I provided him with copies of my documents but I’m sure I will not be hearing from them… So disgusted that I entrusted my shoes to man that wasn’t wearing any himself!!! Go elsewhere please, this place is not worth the hassle. –stars

Mr. Gibbs has been resoling my shoes for at least 6 years. He has always done quality work on everything from Ferragamos to Pliners. Never an issue. Never an attitude.

I agree with James R., only wish I would have read the review BEFORE wasting a brand new pair of dance shoes.
Negative stars are deserved
Not only is the lady «helping» the rudest nastiest n_​_​I’ve met, she knows of shoe repair absolutely nothing.
I asked to have leather sole added to a pair of shoes and they were destroyed!!! they look horrible, it was not glued properly all around, it is thick and unappealing, the upper material was returned stained with a wax used all around and worst of all the material was SLIT!
Mr Gibbs has a problem with assuming responsibility and only makes up excuses.
I will never set foot or shoe in that dump again!

I overheard them say they can do other repairs, but that SHOES are their specialty. given that, I would say they do an acceptable job, I had my tips replaced today on a favorite pair of italian leather and python stilettos that I can’t part with and have owned for years… they were done (correctly) in 15 minutes.

you’d be better served just tying your shoes together and throwing them over a power wire. i’d give 0 or negative stars, but neither were an option
took a vintage, 1960’s, leather messenger bag to have 2 small repairs done and a clean up. the bag wasn’t that expensive, but i really love it and gave specific/​written instructions so there were no questions.
was told it’d be ready on monday morning. showed up and he hadn’t even started. came back the next morning… still nothing. came back later that afternoon only to find that the repairs weren’t done, but he took the liberty of ‘painting’ the entire bag with some crappy spray pollish (sp?). fortunately, a women was in the shop to give me a major ‘tude when i protested. i was told that the paint would be removed, the repairs would be made, and to return 1^st thing the next morning.
showed up :30 after him opening. nothing had been done and he asked that i come back in 1 hour so he could ‘finish his coffee and get settled in’.
i should’ve haggled for the $ 30 i prepaid, but was so horrified/​bummed, that i snatched the bag and bolted.
the bag’s currently at a highly reviewed shop and i’ll post a follow up review once it’s out of the ICU.
