Groovy’s Pizza

Came back here the other day and it wasn’t as spectacular as I remember it being.
The pizza was alright. It was good but not GREAT. Nothing to write home about. Slices are huge.
Service, however, was excellent. Very friendly and sociable!
I’d stop by again but it wouldn’t be my absolute first choice for pizza in the area.

Cardboard.
Food — this pizza is dry, stale and tastes like its been sitting there for days.
Staff — the staff is rude and can hardly speak English.

Slices are huge and cheap! I got the meat lovers and it was great! I’m from Chicago and I approve this pizza!

The slices of pizza are enormous! I had a slice of cheese pizza and it was delicious. A little greasy but the sauce is a little bit sweet and has great flavor. We will definitely order from them for our next office party.

If you’re looking for awesome pizza at anytime of the day or night, this is the spot to go. I’m used to deep dish Chicago pizza (being from the Midwest) and I loved this place!

I had been smelling the pizzeria for a few days and finally decided to try it out!!! Man oh man I was not let down. Pizza was delicious! Get the sausage and pepperoni:)

Best pizza in south beach !! Slices are huge and filling. Go grab a slice of the pie.

We have an apartment near one of their places, so we finally felt like ordering a togo pizza from them. They delivered it within good time, but the pizza was under cooked, it had no tomato sauce, and they did not chop up the toppings. There whole pieces of deli meat put on top, there was no attempt at proportionally cutting up the ingredients.

The pizza is good considering it’s Florida! We got the pepperoni and plain… pepperoni rounds were huge and delicious. The slices are pretty big. We got delivery to our hotel and it was pretty quick for a Friday night.

Delicious pizza, awesome prices, next to great shopping a few blocks from the beach. Love it

Not a huge fan of this place … But we always come here every time we are in south beach … Good for after drinking …

Pizza tasted rubbery and microwaved. Barely any sauce, way too much flower in the bread, and cheese was disgusting. The cheese fries were cold and stuck together. So gross!

This is horrible! I came from New York and walked into this spot late night and it is extremely greasy and salty! Take it from a New Yorker don’t come here unless you’re drunk as hell!!!

Meh. I came here a few nights ago to grab a slice of pizza, and for some reason it just didn’t taste the same and wasn’t as good as my first trip here a few years back. The pepperoni slices they were offering were rectangular, almost as if they were trying to morph themselves into Pizza Rustica. If I’d wanted Pizza Rustica, I’d have gone there — Rustica is only about a block away. I came here because I wanted Groovy’s triangle slice, taken from a traditional pie with that buttery and flaky croissant-​style crust that Groovy’s aways used to offer. Disappointing.

I loved the pizza. The staff was funny and welcoming. New York Style slices. It’s small setting reminded me of Jew town stores.
Not so visible but good enough to get another slice.

Super leckere Pizza Slices und das einigermaßen günstig. Die Bedienung war nett und die Pizza Auswahl war reichlich groß. Drinnen in dem bestimmt 3m breiten Lokal gibt es ein paar Baarhocker und eine Art Theke auf der man seinen Teller abstellen kann.
Die Einrichtung lasst sicherlich zu wünschen übrig aber fur eine Zwischenmahlzeit vollig OK.

I came to Groovy’s Pizza slightly inebriated after enjoying a few frozen drinks with a couple of friends at Wet Willies, so my review might be a bit off, but from what I remember, it is definitely the type of place where you come for a bite of cheesy madness and take a few minutes to sober up. In fact, this hole in the wall type of place is a prime spot for people who are walking on Washington looking for a place to relax.
When my friend walked in with me, he was immediately puzzled because he said the pizza didn’t look fresh. It doesn’t. It is the type of place where they have huge pizzas (2−3x the size of a normal pizza slice) that have been sitting up for a few hours. However, if you warm them up, your taste buds experience wild flavors and cheesy insanity. The pizzas are to die for. Don’t expect a five star pizza because you won’t find it here, but overall the pizzas here are still delicious and come in a wide variety of flavors such as Hawaiian, tomato/​basil/​cheese, pepperoni, and meat lovers.
The majority of pizzas here are around $ 4, which are unfortunate because they charge a minimum of $ 5 on card. The pepperoni square pizzas are $ 5 though. If you want a bottled beer here, it is a huge ripoff here. $ 4 a pop! It’s Miami Beach highway robbery at it’s finest.
Overall, I will come here again if I am ever rambling Washington at night and need to eat. The place is small and a hole in the wall, but you just have to enjoy these nitty gritty eating stations that can be only found at a place like South Beach.

A nice slice of plain cheese and a bottle of water for $ 5. Sit outside and watch the scenery walk past. A quick sprinkle of red pepper flakes and it was perfect.
New York style, it covered a paper plate and a half.
