CLOSED!!! THISLOCATIONISNOWCLOSED! It’s a real bummer if you bought their Groupon and you didn’t go right away. From an announcement on the door, they will be opening in the Dadeland Mall and Miami International Mall soon, but please don’t go to this location in the meantime. Their website also has not been updated to fully reflect the change.

Great food. Lots of options and tasty. The service was blah… typical Sobe joint. The main lady looked like she was bored and no smile. she looked like she was tired of being there. BTW, if you are reading this post lady, I am the one that asked for change of a dollar for the parking meter to visit you joint. The cashier said let me get it out of my tip bucket and you told her NO!!! Not sure why, cause all we did was to show up with a groupon and so did the other folks there. If you don’t like the concept don’t join it. The other folks were looking at her a bit weird too. So the sushi was good, we had the noodles and they were good. Too many sushi joint in SOBE to be treated like this so PUYA, good luck with your buisness treating people like that…

Second time here and it’s full. Impressive! This place got good business going on. I had a small problem with the cashier. First off, she is really nice. Beautiful smile and great personality. Although, here’s my comment. «Speak’a English.» It seems that she is not from here and she got my order wrong. Swiped the card twice and I ended up paying a little more than regular. Here’s my second comment, If you’re the owner of this place, Think twice about business and beauty. «Sex sells in marketing, but English makes money!» Overall the food is great and healthy.

Nice place, fresh ingredients, tasty food, interesting«kones»; but very tight space to eat and the portions weren’t the biggest. Seemed to be a decent value though. I’d give it another shot.

Fast, fresh and healthy, is their motto. They certainly honor this mantra. It is always good to stop by and have a good convenient meal that makes you feel good about having a semi decent, reasonably healthy, well priced meal. I am of course a fan of sushi in all forms, including the fast type. Good service makes for a good meal as well. We are fans.

Just went to King Kone for lunch. It’s definitely an interesting concept, but unfortunately it isn’t a very successful one. I got the veggie king kone with miso soup and a soda, it was only $ 8.99, so very reasonably priced. Their tagline is «Fast, Healthy, Fresh.» It was definitely not fast. They gave us one of those black square buzzers to tell us when our meal was done, which seemed a little weird because the place was so small. It took about 5 minutes for it to come out which was fine, but the cone itself was so so hard to eat! The seaweed was super tough, I could barely break it with my teeth. The shape of the cone plus the fact that it was so hard to rip the seaweed led to a huge mess! I had it all over my face and nose and things kept falling out of my cone! When I think of «fast,» I think that it would be good on the go and a quick bite to eat. i felt like I was wrestling with my meal. The veggies in my cone were very fresh and delicious, no complaints there. There was not enough rice in my cone, but I could probably just ask them for more next time. The miso soup was very good too, but didn’t have enough tofu or seaweed and they didn’t fill the cup they gave me. My bf’s edamame, on the other hand was a huge portion. I was still hungry after my soup and cone, which rarely happens to me when I eat out. If I go back, I would probably get the«kase» which is a bowl instead of a cone. Although, I probably won’t go back because they didn’t have enough vegetarian options for me. Not even tofu!

LOVELOVELOVETHISPLACE! I wish we had one in Boston! I think its Delicious! The cashier was very sweet, and remembered me when i came back the next day. :] Brownie points! They offer white rice or brown rice for all you health nuts out there. I thought the price was reasonable. If i spent 8 $ at a regular sushi restaurant I would only get one roll! and that wouldn’t fill me up at all. One hand roll filled me up. I think i died and went to heaven. I’ll give you 5 stars because i seriously didnt have anything to complain about.

I was avoiding this place because I do NOT like hand rolls… I find them difficult to eat; however, the BF bought a Groupon and when I checked out the menu, I was pleased to see that you could order all of the hand rolls in a «bowl» option. We did takeaway and went to pick it up as we live only a block away. It was ready right on time and I loved that you could pack your own sauces and wasabi /ginger from the fixin’s bar! We got the SoBe Latino, the Ceviche and the Crunchy Tuna bowls. They were all excellent. I liked the SoBe Latino the best — the unsweetned coconut flakes really added something special! I thought the Cevice was a little too acidic. We also ordered a roll and it was just OK. Nothing special. I tried to order online and the online system wasn’t working, but when I called, the guy answering the phone was very friendly and totally competent. The staff was very friendly when I picked up the order, too.

We heard about this place through Groupon. They were offering $ 30 worth of food for $ 15. We went on their website to view their menu. They don’t have much a big selection, but their items look quite yummy. Be prepared to be amazed by the size of these cones. They don’t call it King Kone for no reason. These cones are enormous!!! We ordered the Mexican, Crunchy Tuna, Crunch Dragon, and Spicy Tuna cone. They were all amazing except that they were packed with too much rice. Each is priced at $ 6.99 which is a steal! I’m an eel sauce fanatic and I was able to get as much eel sauce as I wanted unlike other establishments which charge you a $ 1 for a tiny bit of eel sauce. We hope to come back soon, but since we are on Brickell and not much of South Beachers, it might have to wait until we are in the beach area.

When King Kone started out I found them very expensive for a «fast food» establishment. They must must have done some market research becuase the new menu is spot-on! While the hand rolls(«kones») themselves still seem a little pricey, they now offer combo meals that include a kone, side, and a drink. The«prince kone» combo is $ 7.99 and the«King Kone» is $ 8.99 if I remember correctly. I think this is a very reasonable price condidering the quality and taste of the food. This has become one of my favorite places on Alton for a quick, healthy meal. I find many of the handrolls to be very creative and delicious. My new favorite is the«Mexican Kone» which is salmon, chunks of avocado and fresh onion and jalapeño in a guacamole-type sauce. It is also served with a few tortilla chips that are perfect to catch any«kone overflow»

Though the menu is bit limited, what IS on there is creative and delicious. My favorite part: the gallon size eel sauce pump. Get as much or as little as you want. Yum!

Tasty… We had the spicy tuna and the shock kones and both were yummy. I like that you get to chose between white or brown rice. The king size kone really doesn’t fill you up so you have to order two; that being considered $ 6.99 is not that great of a deal. The seaweed salad for $ 1.99 appears to be a good value but the portion is teeny tiny, sort of insulting actually. The dessert kones are a clever idea but also not a great value for $ 3.99. You get a waffle kone filled with cheesecake or whatever you chose, but the filling is only about 3 spoon fulls. The specialty rolls for $ 6.99 are very small as well. I suppose that’s how they make money. Service was also slow and they did get some of the orders mixed up. It could be due to the fact that many customers walked in with Living Social vouchers and they just weren’t prepared for the rush. The place is a hole in the wall and no one cleaned off tables. I would consider this place again for take out but only if they speed it up.

As per our usual South Beach adventures, we returned to King Kone for Dinner and Abraxis for Drinks. King Kone has changed their menu. Gone are the traditional rolls in favor of only cone rolls. This is far more beneficial to both the consumer and the staff as the cones are faster to make, and the selection is small but satisfying. I went with three regular cones: the Shock, the Coconut Shrimp and a plain Eel cone. The cashier and I both agreed that the Coconut Shrimp is one of the best items. The Shock was nice, as I enjoyed the salmon and the avocado, and well, I’d eat almost anything with eel on it. Just make sure to eat over the table, as items can fall off and land on clothes. In my group was also ordered the Volcano cone, which had potato sticks and a variety of flavors that my friend and the cone maker both praised. I think King Kone is an excellent, fast, and relatively cheap meal for South Beach, especially if you are in the mood for non-traditional Japanese.

Delivery?! I owe you my heart and then some King Kone for delivering a great lunch. I had a coconut shrimp with pineapple and a side of edamame the good news is that it was fast and efficient. Although, I didn’t fall for the coconut shrimp, I’ll definitely be ordering again. You should know that forks don’t come in delivery bag, they might have trouble understanding when you call to place an order and that it’s a healthy, nutritional, affordable meal.

It’s too bad they don’t offer the King size anymore. My first experience was the King size and it was AWESOME… — Salmon, Eel and Chives… good, but I don’t think the regular was enough for my girlfriend… — Shrimp Tempura Roll… very tasty. With the sweet shoyu-based sauce, the crunch, softened by the sticky texture of the rice, made this a fantastic roll. For $ 9.25, it was a bit of a stretch, but it was still very, very tasty. — Sparkling Sake… grab a bottle for around $ 16 and enjoy your time a bit more… probably should get 2 bottles for 2 people. Lastly, the chef was a very nice guy… joyful, and informative. Make sure you tip him — he deserves it.

They have recently changed the menu up a bit. The«kone» sizes are no longer offered in mini, regular and king. Now it’s just mini(sold 3 or 6 at a time) or regular. When I asked they told me that the new regular size is actually somewhere in between the old regular and king size hand rolls. Honestly I miss the bigger, king option. Also, it looks like they’ve added a few other items to the menu including sashimi cubes and few types of sushi rolls(6-piece). Apparently enough people were asking for sushi rolls to justify changing the menu. At least that’s what the employee I spoke with says.

Over the past week, I’ve become such a fan of this place. This place is just like Burger King. The only difference is that King Kone doesn’t have a drive through. And they don’t have wilted lettuce on slabs of charred, cheap ground beef. And they don’t have employees that seem like they would rather be anywhere else. And it’s just a little more expensive — but not too much. What they do have in common is that you can pop in, spend a little bit of money and be on your way with a bag of food. In this case though, the food is some of the freshest sushi in the area. I’ve never sat in the restaurant because this is the perfect place to get a quick and satisfying bite to eat, on the go. I’ve eaten here 5 times in the last week and the fish has always been top notch. The employees have been great and the flavors have been just as good. I’m not usually a hand-roll fan but the large size of these hand-rolls decrease the proportion of wrap to roll and I love ‘em. It’s sushi to go(not the questionable sushi place on Biscayne, but real sushi to go). What a great concept.
