Breakfast is lovely and great service! Nice, attentive and really sweet servers. I highly recommend it! Make sure you tell them about any allergies so they can steer you in the right direction! They are extremely accommodating. Throughout the day they do pipe in music. It might be soothing and refreshing if it weren’t as loud and if I was here leisurely :) I asked them about it and the manager quickly responded — he turned it off. He explained that they don’t have a way to make it lower so I accepted that and made sure if anyone else wants to hear music that they know it’s ok to turn it back on!!! If you want to get some work done or are there to talk to friends or business colleagues — make sure it’s a small table because it can be a bit distracting — just a tip !!! If you are on holiday– however it would be pretty nice, upbeat and would get you into the groove of Miami! Maybe this is just Miami or me getting older?

Went there for brunch. Service was atrocious. Buffet was barebones, but also cheap. Guess you get what you pay for. Manager ended up crediting us a bunch of stuff. Some people in our group were overcharged and double charged. Stay away.

We just had starters, sides, and dessert! Everything was amazing! Ceviche, studded squash blossom, brussel sprouts, heirloom tomato salad, and banana pudding pie! Delicious! Cassidy took good care of us. Just went back for lunch. Yummy hummus and spicy fish tacos! A weaken service!

Great food. Cool 60s look. Server didn’t seem too knowledgeable of the menu. Maybe he was new.

This is the busy lobby restaurant for the Thomson hotel. Nice and spacious with a large atrium for an outdoor feel. We were near the bar, and the background noise is considerable. I really want togive 3 ½ stars. My wife’s snapper was very good, looked like a whole one.(see pic) She really enjoyed it. My braised short ribs were just ok, no particular taste except for a lingering oil residue on the palate. Drinks were typical Miami Beach, best to order double for a cocktail. Maitre d’ said they think of themselves as a Miami bistro

Great food. Particularly the toro dish with tuna toast. Never had anything like that before and it was delicious. The gnudi was also really crazy, as were the brussels sprouts and squash blossom. I was actually surprised by the relatively not insane pricing considering the area and the cost of other things at the Thompson. For example there’s a bottle of white wine on the list for $ 36 and I thought it was pretty good.

My husband and I were starving when we arrived in Miami, and since our room was not yet ready in the hotel, we decided to grab lunch at Seagrape. I’ve been a fan of Michelle Bernstein for quite some time, so her restaurant was already on my bucket list of places to try. The food did not disappoint. We both opted for«The Club», which was excellent & huge. It came with some of the best French fries we’ve ever had in our lives. Even though there were only 2 other tables occupied in the restaurant, the service was extremely slow. It looked as if they were setting up for a large, private party/buffet outside. Aside from the slow service, the servers themselves were all very friendly.

Ambiance is very madmen early 60s vibe. Sydney is awesome. So friendly and great service from her. Expensive but worth it if your staying at the hotel and need a midday fix and don’t want to leave the hotel. Ordered a Bellini and my husband ordered a tom Collins. They didn’t ask if he preferred gin or vodka and when they brought vodka he mentioned wanting gin and Sydney brought him another one on the house, no hesitation. Burger was awesome and perfect to split between two people. Bill was still $ 54 with tip included but can’t expect less from a hotel.

(Bar and restaurant review) Great restaurant located at the lobby level of the Thompson. My wife and I came by for a quick lunch, and weren’t let down. The entire place matches the Thompson’s vibe: Mad Men look and feel, and the bar is no different. One of the coolest looking bars I’ve ever seen. Polished, bottles all over, organized, with a huge cutting board table for making cocktails. We ordered some drinks(I got a Tom Collins, my wife a Bellini). The waitress never asked if I’d wanted Vodka or Gin. Turns out they made it with vodka for me, and she offered that one on the house and whipped me up another one with Hendrick’s Gin. Very nice of the waitress, and that’s a rare thing. Usually, they’ll apologize and you wasted a drink. Cucumber Gimlet — outstanding. We ended up splitting the burger and fries, which hit the spot. Burger cooked medium-rare, with a nice helping of French fries on the side. The burger was cooked very nicely with some good seasoning. Onions, lettuce, and tomato. Although a bit pricey, it was a nice little spot with some good cocktails and drinks for midday!

Food was really flavorful and service was good. Outside seating area is nice when enjoying the warm Miami nights, especially if you want to be away from the busy restaurant strips. Food was a little cold and dishes were pricey.

The food was bland, especially for the price, but this is South Beach. The atmosphere is nice, they present the food beautifully, and the staff is very kind. But, we came to eat… and weren’t too impressed.

My mom and I are staying at the Thompson and decided to have breakfast. Although we received free continental breakfast(muffins, cereal, yogurt and fresh fruit) we chose to have some eggs and everything was delicious. I’m not really into frittatas but I got the avocado one and it was ok. The toast was heavenly though! The orange juice was the freshest juice ever! Overall, we were treated exceptionally well and service was like none other. I am so happy to be staying at an establishment that treats customers well.

Service was A+, especially for South Beach: home of rude hosts/hostesses R’ us. The food was… eh. The pea soup was 150% cream and the chef suggested we slurp it. err… no. The snapper filet was divine but the desserts(we tried most of them) left us kind of wishing we had just gone to the Frieze instead. The décor is really cool — 60s go-go style with leaf prints and panels + cozy booths. If anything, drink or eat here so you can chill at the Thompson pools(there are 2) and have beach access, but leave the eats to Michelle Bernstein’s other spots.

There is no better way to describe Seagrape than this: medicore at best. My fiancé and I went to celebrate our anniversary — the hostess knew this and the restaurant did nothing to acknowledge our special occasion. This didn’t really matter to us – we came for the food as longtime Michy fans! We started with the«warm» gougeres which are really just balls of cheese-whiz with truffle. Warm was also an overstatement, as they were room temp when they were served. The bread basket was also pretty stale and offered nothing of interest… except for a totally random dish of pickled veggies. For our entrees, we opted for the short ribs and cioppino. The short ribs were fatty and flavorless… sad excuse for a dish with so much potential. The cioppino had great flavor but the shrimp were beyond baby-sized and the fish was slightly mushy. We got a couple glasses of wine which were the best parts of the meal — likely because they weren’t made in house. Overall, dinner was pretty gross and my fiancé was immediately sick before we even got our car from valet. We expect more from our beloved Michy!

This was my first time trying any of Michelle’s restaurants and it was LONGOVERDUE! Came here for a very special day. my Birthday. and I couldn’t have been happier with the choice! The place is quite casual, indoor and outdoor seating, yummy cocktails(including the one with the adorable panda bear glass), and delicious food! The winners of the night were definitely the Warm Gougères with jamon serrano and truffle fondue. Sadly we had the last order available so we couldn’t ask for seconds :(Another must-try is the Whole Crispy Snapper(sans head) served with coconut rice and this amazing Thai-style slaw. At first glance seems like a pretty simple dish, but the flavors of each side were ridiculous! Needless to say, I will definitely make my way back here soon.

I visited Seagrape for dinner on a Sunday. The restaurant is inside the Thompson Hotel in SoBe and offers a chic and retro ambiance. It honestly reminded me of my grandma’s house, but in a good way! I have to say that there are many menu items that caught my eye, and I had a hard time deciding what to order. I had the beet salad which wasn’t anything out of the ordinary. However, the short rib was quite delicious and I was able to cut it using my fork only. Despite its flavor, it lacked that je né sais quoi. I also tried the gnocchi which was a very flavorful dish but didn’t even taste like ñoquis. For dessert I got to try the carrot cake, which was warm and had a surprisingly crunchy garnish, the cheese and guava filled donuts were very sweet, and the lemon cake was my favorite dessert as it was moist and refreshing. This was definitely the highlight of my dinner. The service was exceptionally remarkable: our server pointed out the most popular menu items, water was constantly refilled, our table was cleaned after every course, and we never reused eating utensils. Additionally, our server was concerned about the restaurant’s food quality. I was really impressed with the amazing service, which is worth a lot in Miami.

The food at Seagrape is amazing, but the prices are very high so I have to take value into consideration. A beet starter salad shouldn’t cost $ 18. Entrees are in the high 30s unless you order pasta, and they presumptiously add not 18 but 20% gratuity, which always leaves a bitter aftertaste. Service wasn’t even great, I had to waive our waiter over a few times as he was passing by, when he should have periodically checked in on us. The high prices and slow-ish service aside, the food is perfectly executed, delicious and beautiful to look at. The grilled octopus with potato foam is delicious. Foam on a plate never gets old for me, although the cool people think it’s so 2000. The brussels sprouts and duck fat fries are great sides to share, the roast carrots got mixed reviews as they were very soft. We shared the whole crispy snapper as our entrée, since the sides were fairly generous. The snapper is tail on, deboned and crispy fried, delectable. The coconut rice was fragrant but overcooked. Loved the Thai style slaw and dipping sauce that came with the fries. For dessert, I went against my instinct and did not order the guayaba cheese donuts. I wanted a spongy layer cake, something airy and light, after the fried snapper. The lemon pudding cake with meringue sounded great, but all of the elements were deconstructed on the plate. Don’t charge me $ 12 and make me assemple my own spoon. What I got was a teeny circle of sponge topped with pudding. That in my book does not quality as cake. The meringues were bite sized cookies. While the plate was beautiful and the flavors well balanced, it was more piece of art than a dessert that makes me come back for more. I adore Michelle Bernstein, but I think opening a restaurant inside a hotel is almost always a recipe for mediocrity at best.

We had breakfast here during a recent vacation to Miami Beach. I ordered Eggs Benedict and a side of fruit. The fruit was deliciously fresh and I really enjoyed the creamy Eggs Benedict. I liked my cup of hot tea so much that our waiter gave me a complimentary tea bag in his favorite flavor so that I could try it later. This place has great food and great service!

It really pains me to give you less than five stars, Michelle, but this just wasn’t as good as I remembered Michy’s, or as good as I was expecting it to be, given a management group and your incredible talent. We came here on a Saturday night at 8:30 during high season and it was empty upon arrival. The restaurant does follow the old school, bright eclectic style from Michy’s that I loved. Aqua and yellow meets 80s style furniture and light but cool music plays in the background. It has a really different but great atmosphere, you don’t get that SLS douchey feel here. No offense, Jose Andres, you still make my top three chefs of the world. I also heard that they are doing a 1930s theme on Fridays with a pop up of Sra Martinez. kudos to you, Management group. We did have a delicious bottle of white wine, and there was a knowledgable sommelier to help us pick one. This has always been the case in Michelle’s restaurants, so she neither earns a point not loses one here. We ordered the ceviche appetizer that was not as good as the Michy’s ceviche we have loved. The fish had clearly been marinated for much less time, and there were no choclo or sweet potato chunk. Everyone at the table was disappointed by this dish. I am allergic to tuna, so I cannot speak on behalf of this dish, however, it was passed around quite a few times before someone just finished it for the sake of clearing the plates. There was however this EXQUISITE appetizer of cheese fondue beignets. Wow. What an explosion of flavor and deliciousness. We also ordered the octopus. This was very well cooked and very good. As our last appetizer, we had the lobster ravioli. I was not that impressed and would not order this again, even though it was recommended by our waiter. When a waiter at a restaurant like this recommends a lame dish like lobster ravioli and its not delicious, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, pun intended. Our mains consisted of braised short ribs and full fish. I do believe they deboned the fish for us, so kudos for that. The braised short rib was also delicious and we finished our whole plates. I would definitely come back, I would just like to be wowed. I will definitely try CENA before coming back to seagrape.

I don’t really know where to start with this restaurant because that’s how amazing it is. My review is for a dinner I had with 6 of my family members, and we ALL equally agreed on the opinion that’s stated below. So, let’s start with the service: The waiter was so nice and so helpful, all his recommendations were definitely worth it, so listen to them! You could tell the people who work here truly support and love their food. For some reason, most restaurants on the beach have really rude waiters, which in turn ruins the vibe… But not this restaurant. So satisfied! Next, the appetizers: We had the pork belly, tuna tartare, heirloom tomatoes, and this puff that had this cheese inside and this pesto sauce(that’s the worst description but I forgot what it was called!) Every appetizer was top quality and SO tasty, but the key player here was definitely the tuna tartare and the pork belly. The pork belly was so crispy and definitely the best pork belly I’ve ever had because all the flavors on the plate just matched so perfectly. The tuna tartare was also another key player in the appetizers, it was SO fresh, no fishy taste at all. Next, the entrees: We had the mushroom gnocchi, short ribs, duck fat fries, ricotta ravioli, and the brussels spouts. I can talk all day about how amazing every dish was but what I really want to point out the gnocchi which was OUTOFTHISWORLD. You need to order it no doubt. Also, someone mentioned that the fries were soggy but I honestly can’t even imagine that they were because ours were so hot and crunchy and fried to perfection. Lastly, THEDESSERT!!!: CARROTCAKECARROTCAKECARROTCAKE. This isn’t your typical carrot cake that you can buy at the grocery store. It’s warm with this crunchy topping, you’ll never be able to have a regular carrot cake ever again. The pastry chef Max Santiago is so ridiculous. We also got the chocolate candy bar and it was the best balance of crunch and chocolate, wow. A lot of restaurants slack in their dessert menu which pisses me off and I’m so happy that that wasn’t the case with this restaurant because what made this dinner that much better was that it was finished off with amazing dessert. Overall, clearly from my long review, you can tell that I would come back time and time again and definitely recommend it to every one of my friends.
