I have had an awful experience since the time I called the office to make an appointment. The stuff was rude and put me on hold for over 10 minutes. I waited and made the appointment anyway as I needed a lab test to get done asap for my employer and I was running out of time. Big mistake! At the day of my appointment I waited for almost 2 hours. The nurse took the samples and I didn’t even see the doctor. The Dr’s office added lab codes which I did not request and sent it to the lab. All the tests I requested were covered 100% by my insurance. I then received an invoice from the lab. I called the Dr’s office to ask about it and they were very rude and the assistant even hang up on me when I asked the reason why they added extra lab codes without my consent. I ended up having to pay for test I did not request. Awful experience!

I see patient’s from Dr. Lurie’s practice on occasion and they are all happy and well cared for. I have referred dozens of patients — from children to adults — to her office and will continue to do so. She is a great doctor.

I have been looking for a new doctor here in the Miami area for a while and the good reviews of Dr. Lurie caught my attention.
I wasn’t sure what to expect as I am an older guy with some specific issues. Took the chance and was not disappointed. The office is humble and clean and the employees are very courteous. The waiting time was a fraction of the waiting time in any other practice and the ladies dealing with my records on first visit solved any issues on the spot, including having to change my primary care physician at my medical insurance company the same day of the appointment as I was waiting for Dr. Lurie to see me.
Dr. Lurie herself is a very friendly person. She devoted me all the time that was needed in order for her to get up to speed on my medical history. She asked many questions until she understood the issues then proceeded to order a yearly check up. She also required me to do some new lab tests in order to follow through with some of my prior issues, those I had been dealing with at my old doctor’s office.
Nurses took some blood samples at her office and once results were in I received a call from Dr. Lurie herself to discuss any issues, personally. And she did this on a Sunday!
I would recommend Dr. Lurie to anyone looking for that old family doctor who took personal interest on the well being of all his/​her patients. I am also confident that Dr. Lurie will see through any issues and provide the right advice.

Very prompt, answered all my questions, very professional. Mostly didn’t leave me in the waiting room for an hour and 20 minutes like the last office I went to. First visit for a physical but I will update this again later– hopefully this is the trend.

I moved to Miami Beach in July, and based on reviews both here and on other websites, I decided to see Dr. Lurie for my yearly check-​up.
The visit itself was great, and I have no complaints. The staff were polite, the waiting room was clean and nice-​looking, and Dr. Lurie herself was very professional and got me in and out of the door, no problem.
The reason why I only gave 2 stars is the aftermath. I had provided my insurance information beforehand, and the admin assistant assured me the visit would be covered entirely by my insurance. Imagine my surprise when, a few weeks later, I got a bill from the office asking me to pay over $ 300! And this was for a standard yearly check-​up!
Of course I immediately called the number provided, and after some investigating it turned out someone in the office had billed the service incorrectly. So the claim was re-​filed, and I was told once again that I wouldn’t have to worry about paying out-​of-​pocket. Now, about two weeks ago, I received another bill in the mail… asking me for $ 100.
I’m giving up and just paying it. I also sincerely hope that I was the exception rather than the rule when it came to this billing fiasco, because Dr. Lurie really seems to genuinely care for her patients and I don’t think she was directly responsible for what happened. Nevertheless, I will most likely go to a different doctor for my check-​up next year, because what happened to me clearly shows that someone behind-​the-​scenes just wasn’t doing their job right.

Dr. Lurie has been my doctor for three years now. She is amazing! I love her holisitic approach to my health. She genuinely cares for her patients and is always well prepared. I love her office and honestly couldn’t ask for a better doctor. On a sidenote too her waiting room is the cutiest, and coziest I have ever been to.
Appointments are highly recommended just an FYI since she is the only doctor.

I was completely amazed with Dr. Lurie and her staff. I was searching for a new general practitioner closer to where I live as I was having to drive to FTL every time I needed to see my doctor. I did quite a bit of research and every sight I visited said great things about her and her practice. I was able to request an appointment online and within a very short time her office called to set my appointment. I was afraid that she would be heavily booked and I would have a hard time to get in to see the doctor however I was told I could be seen just 3 days later.
The day before my appointment the office called me to remind me of my time and ask if it was ok if the nurse practitioner could do my preliminary work up. I said yes thinking, «ahh this is how I got an appointment so quickly, I won’t be seeing the doctor after all». I arrived a few minutes before my appointment to fill out paperwork and made sure I took my iPad with a good book anticipating the wait. The front desk lady was in a great mood and told me what she needed and asked me to have a seat in there very cosy waiting room where I proceeded to read my book.
Before I was finished with the second page I was asked back into the exam room and was discussing what brought me in. I was told the nurse practitioner would be right in to start my work up. Again I sat back with my book to wait and again I was barely done with one page before the NP came in to take all my vitals and again go over why I was there (physical and prescription renewal). She had a great bedside manner and clearly listened to my medical history and took notes and discussed my vitals she took from me.
After we went over everything she stated that the doctor would be in to do her exam and discuss any questions I had. I was very surprised since I thought I wouldn’t be seeing the doctor. So again I made an attempt to read my book and I didn’t even get it open this time before Dr. lurie came into the exam room. She was great and discussed my entire medical history and her thoughts. We discussed my prescription and she immediately sent it to my pharmacy from her handheld (pharmacy called within the hour to tell me it was ready).
All in all it was a great experience and I would highly recommend Dr. Lurie and her staff. My only complaint would be that I put too much money in the parking meter and didn’t get anywhere with my book.
