I have never had trini food. This was my first time. So good! I tried the curry chicken and buss up shut, doubles and pholourie. Everything that I tried was delicious! Highly recommend.

The doubles and roti are legit. I found the ladies quite friendly and the ambience is simply genuine to the business.

Please keep in mind, I am a chef and baker, of mixed descent, so I’m familiar with the culture of food served here. I came here, had the chicken roti, and I must say I was disappointed. There were cheap quality pieces of chicken, with bone shards throughout the roti. No one wants to eat a dish like this and repeatedly have to spit out bone fragments, it gets a little unsanitary and turns you off from eating your food. The place is Very hot and stuffy, and smelled like an old elementary school bathroom. There were ceiling fans going but what’s the benefit of circulating hot air(?). The place itself could use a deep, thorough cleaning. I’ve Been to a number of shops, and I wasn’t expecting some super fancy décor or anything, but at least offer your patrons some good cold air conditioning on a hot Florida day, and keep the place looking clean! Also. The décor that was present was not appealing. Every other picture or placard had«damn» or sh*t” on it. Like… what happened. :-(

Always the best Roti ever. I have tried most on the menu and never been dissatisfied. Take a bottle of LC’s hot sauce home. Your taste buds will be very happy. Also a good way to get those endorphins going.

First of let me say that the roti was excellent. However, when I walked in a lady was on her phone, she proceeded to go to the back, not even sure if she washed her hands. Nevertheless brought a dough out to make the roti. Next, one off the staff had their child playing with all their toys in an open area. Moving from the floor to the countertops. My initial feeling was to leave because that was not sanitary. I will not be going back there anytime soon.

Oh my goodness! Their roti sandwiches are amazing! I ordered the veggie(comes with chick peas and potatoes inside) and it was so well seasoned. There was a little sweetness to it and I’m assuming it was the mango chutney they put inside which made it even better. I came back the next day after yoga but they were closed. Also, CASHONLY. I didn’t have any but there’s a Bank of America in the next plaza over by Chilis. Sucks they don’t have one. That’s the only inconvenience I have which is why I didn’t give them 5 stars.

I have been hearing so many good things about this spot and was surely disappointed when I visited recently. First, they don’t take cards, it’s cash only. Second, it just didn’t live up to what I expected. I have had way better roti and curry chicken! Third, the chicken I got was not properly cooked. Last, they are somewhat overpriced for the quality food.

Make sure you have cash! I had a vegetable roti and my friend had a chicken roti. The rotis were delicious. The service however was questionable. They were not rude, but I felt like an interloper. Also I hope you don’t mind the strong smell of incense.

The food here is just average. The portions are getting stingier while the pricing remains the same. The vibes are nice with the soca music playing. U can lime there easy, easy.

Very friendly place… Everyone was all smiles, the staff and the patrons. Had the conch Roti and fresh cane juice. Asked for it spicy, but I think they didn’t believe me, and only did a touch– next time I’ll ask for extra scotch bonnet sauce on the side! Still, it was very good. The star of the meal was definitely the Roti bread itself. So thin and chewy!

Well worth the 30 min drive for me! The roti is FRESH, spicy and oh so juicy! Pair one of these puppies with a Dragon Jamaican stout or Kalik(Bahamian lager), tell them to blast the soca music, and you’re set for a feel-good Caribbean afternoon. Enjoy!

Pros: The food is good, not the best, but not bad. The roti and potato taste authentic, but the meat isn’t the best quality. Cons: Even though it’s cash only, they conveniently never have change and will try to keep your money every time if you don’t have exact change; the staff is rude and the owner is even ruder. They also leave the door open during the day so it can reach up to 90+ degrees during the day in the restaurant. Ultimately, if you want counter service from rude people and you don’t mind having your change stolen then this is the place to eat.

The plus side. 1. Roti rolled from dough and made fresh to order-at it was delicious, but maybe not quite as aromatic and fluffy as those from Priyas in Coral Springs. 2. Their own brand pepper sauce has great heat and taste. 3. Doubles also fried and made fresh to order. 4. Prices are very reasonable. 5. Place is clean(for a roti shop), and friendly. The not so plus side 1. Limited selection of vegetarian fillers for roti-just potato or chick peas(chana); no spinach, pumpkin etc; also no boneless chicken available. Yes, I know that is non traditional… but see below. 2. NOCARIB!!! Lots of Bahamian beer though. Curious. This alone would be grounds to dock half a star. 3. Watch out for potholes up to your windshield when you drive in or out of the strip mall. I certainly would go back, even given my location(Pembroke Pines) puts me equidistant to Joy’s and Ali’s roti shops too. Yes, I had to drive past a lot of food options on the journey from Pembroke Pines to Miami Gardens-put sometimes you cannot send in a burrito to do a rotis job.

Oh my gosh… so yummy! Sweet ladies, authentic Trinidadian food… so good! Well worth the traffic! Small shop, simple menu. I had a ton of questions about each item however being Vegan my options were limited by choice. Doubles were recommended by a friend. I will go back before vacation is over!

This place is a hidden gem! I barely saw it and when I did, I immediately pulled into the plaza because I knew I read good reviews about this place. The roti is super fresh and flavorful! I got the chicken roti and was a little caught off guard by the bones but none the less it was super tasty! They also had my favorite grapefruit soda Ting. I look forward to trying a double Nd the beef roti

Wow … If you don’t want Cisco food… and want to experience local carrobean food. If you want to sample the best food while conversing with Elsie the owner… This is the place to go. I think this is the closest to Trinidad you can get without flying there Go here. Eat the food. Experience the people. you cam pay more for fancy .but you can’t pay more for quality Great prices

This is why you come to Miami, not South Beach not Brickell but a real down and dirty Trini restaurant in a north miami shopping mall. This food is Straight out of the kitchen of Trinidadian families and served Fresh and Hot. The owner Lc is a loving character who makes you feel like you are in her home. If you are lucky you might even get some of her bagged goodies that will keep you a buzz for the rest of the evenning.

My favorite spot to go for traditional island flavor. Their roti is by far the BEST in south Florida. Come in and make friends with the owner Ms. LC herself. She is the warmest most friendly and pleasant person to chat with. You have to try every type of roti on the menu… being that roti is all she has to offer. Her chicken is the most popular, but I personally love the shrimp and conch the most. If you feel the need for some spice, she will ask if you want your roti hot. You must give her homemade pepper sauce a try if you are not afraid of some heat. I almost always take a bottle of her pepper home for my personal use. Stop by and grab a roti with some Carib beer. Tell LC that Shikira sent you(the white girl from the islands ;)

What is the capitol of the caribbean? They say it is not Kingston, not port of spain, or part au prince, and it certainly isn’t The Bottoms. They say it is Miami. So since I was visiting Miami for a conference, and predictably sick of conference food after about a day, and craving some taste of home, I followed some local advice and made my way over to LC Roti Shop. One of the other reviewers commented on the smell that greets you when you walk in. Well to me, the smell was of spices tempering the curry. Also, I thought the people behind the counter were quite friendly and accommodating. Most importantly though, this place satisfied my craving for good Trini food. Some doubles [2 of them to be precise], a buss up shut with curry, carib beer. perfect breakfast. The doubles were quite savory and satisfying. The buss up was flaky and done right. The breakfast inspired me to skip the rest of the conference for the day and make my way over to South Beach for some limin’. Thank you LC Roti Shop. I’ll try to go back there tomorrow for dinner before leaving for New Mexico, my comparatively caribbean food deprived home.

NPS = 3 This place definitely needs to try a little harder. This is especially true if they want to keep charging the prices they are charging. There is no A/C in this restaurant, or at least you feel like there is no A/C. They do not take credit cards. Cash only. That alone is annoying enough. Sitting down, you get greeted with a place mat that looks like it belongs at your grandma’s kitchen. Cute. It has a rooster or some other generic farm animal on it, and the plastic is melting off. Makes you feel like you are lost in an island some where. But when you really think about it, its kind of lazy that the place mat is falling apart and it feels like there is no A/C. To the right, you see a tube TV from the late 80’s playing whatever you get on basic cable. And I don’t think they keep the tube TV to keep that«island» feel. I just think they have not cared to buy a flat screen which are practically given away now-a-days. I ordered a chicken roti. It is basically a crêpe with curry chicken in it. I constantly had to keep picking bones out of the roti, but I guess that is just how the roti comes. The chicken roti was $ 9.50(tax price already included) and a bottle of water was $ 1.50. It was a 12oz bottle, not the 20oz bottle. $ 9.50 for a roti is a lot. I just feel like this place really just does not care. But hey… that’s island life I guess.

I love their doubles! The conch roti is my favorite here. I also like their goat and shrimp roti as well. They will ask if you would like some pepper… Just an FYI, the doubles and conch already are spicy so unless you want extra spice you may want to decline the additional spice. Prices went up a about a dollar per roti from last year. Beware: Bring exact change and be on top of how much the total is of what you order because if you’re not on top of how much your items are, they notoriously will round up a couple dollars and you will be shortened your correct change.
